When I look through my viewfinder I do not see an image of my subject.

I am new at photography and think I must be missing something simple. When I turn on my Power Shot in shooting mode I see only a bright square on a dark field. Pressing "disp" adds or removes symbols around the edge of the field, but no image of my subject.

Here is one fix that might help you you might have to repeat it a few times also if you really really like tht model and cannot fix it they are available on auction sites for cheap money. I still hve a working S5. The author of that fix said the problem is due to the oil on the shutter getting old and dried up and stiff. Its was called the black screen of death,http://www.fixya.com/support/t295396-canon_s2_black_screen Set the camera in Tv mode, (delayed shutter mode) set the shutter at 15 sec, click to take a picture and during that 15 secs (like, after 7 seconds) open the battery, compartment which cuts contact with the battery circuit.Close the battery cover. At this point the camera works fine for me but only temporarily as noted above.Sometimes however, this procedure had to be performed more than once. Here is the key to the permanent fix.While the camera is working via the temporary fix, take many, many pictures. Hundreds! I probably snapped 400-600 pics. The idea is to wear down the little patches of hardened oil on the shutter blades. For the next three of days I took hundreds of pics each day. Basically, I just aimed the camera at the wall or whatever and snapped off several hundred pics.
Now that I seem to have my camera working permanently, my plan is to NOT leave my camera in a high temperature environment, and to try to use it regularly. Maybe, not unlike many other things, if it gets no regular use, it may start to deteriorate.
No guarantees but I do hope this helps

Rebel t3 won't take pictures and now there's a floater when I look in the viewfinder

I've had my camera for 8 months and it just stopped working. I've been in contact with Canon about the camera not taking pictures. They've given me some troubleshooting to try and so far it looks like a lens issue. The last instructions I was given said to remove the lens and clean the metal contacts, which I did. After doing that now I see a floater when I look through the viewfinder. Any ideas?

Does this only show up when you look through the viewfinder? E.g. Does it appear in a photo or in live view mode?
If only in the viewfinder then you may have a bit of dust, etc on the focus screen.
Using a hand-squeeze blower (e.g. A Giotto Rocket Blower, etc. avoid cans of compressed air because they can spray some propellant which leaves a hazy residue.) to gently blow out dust.
The focus screen has a fine textured surface and if you touch the screen you can easily make things worse.

If you purchased it from Apple or an authorized Apple reseller, it's genuine.
If not, it is very likely to be counterfeit and dangerous to use. Counterfeit power adapters often bear fraudulent consumer product safety markings. It is difficult or impossible to distinguish a genuine power adapter from a counterfeit from an exterior inspection, and inspecting its interior destroys the adapter.

I can tell you that this is some of the absolutely worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I found out from a store employee that when they are really busy with calls, they have third party companies taking overflow calls. One of those companies is Xerox. What can a Xerox call center rep possibly be able to authorize on a Verizon account? I'm Sure there is a ton of misinformation out there due to this. They don't note the accounts properly or so everyone can see them. I have been transferred before and have asked if they work for Verizon or a third party also and was refused an answer so, apparently they aren't required to disclose that information. I spent a long time in the store on my last visit and it's not just customers that get the runaround. It happens to the store employees as well and it's beyond frustrating.

Missing in this equation were the version of Premiere Elements that you were using and the computer operating system on which it was running. But...
The deed is done. But.....Until now and after you went ahead and moved to version 12, we now learn what version of Premiere Elements you were using. We still do not know the computer operating system involved.
You just said Premiere Elements 10. Premiere Elements 10 is hit by a serious known display issue if the computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card. In this issue, the only remedy is to roll back the driver version to about May 2013. The description of the problem and how to do the roll back are described in one of the Announcements at the top of this forum. What video card/graphics card does your computer use?
On another front, Adobe will be releasing a new version of Premiere Elements any day now. No one but Adobe knows the feature set for the new version. That type of information is announced at the moment of release of the new version.
So the remedy to the problem that you presented in this thread could have been...
1. Rolling back the NVIDIA GeForce driver version to about May 2013 if possible (Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, may not be possible)
2. Move to another version of Premiere Elements (which you did)
I offer the above for consideration so that you can review your decisions. We are pleased to learn that Premiere Elements 12/12.1 works for you.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

Suggest that you perform a Factory Default Reset as follows:
Pull the Express from power
Wait a few moments
Hold in the reset button and keep holding it an additonal 8-10 seconds while you plug the Express back in to power
Release the reset button and allow 40-45 seconds for the Express to restart

It will often help to temporarily connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac to the AirPort Express for the setup. Once the Express is configured, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable and move the Express to the desired location.

It's not clear which app you are referring to. If it is Premiere Pro, please go to C:\Program Files\Adobe and see if you have the 'Adobe Premiere Pro' folder. You can try to launch it from there.

I bought a TV show through my ATV2 but can not see the purchase in iTunes nor watch it on my computer...why?

I recently purchased a TV series through my Apple TV2 and can access this purchase on my iPod no problem. However, in iTunes on my laptopwhen I go to TV "Purchases" I do not see anything listed to be able to download to my laptop.
The only workaround I see is dowloading through my iPod touch and then synching with the computer...but that's a pain!
Any suggestions? All software is up to date in terms of updates.

Before updating to iOS 5 did you copy all your purchases from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases ? If you did then you should be able to sync it back to the iPad.

Can anyone explain why when I sync my iphone I'm unable to see the images?

I can't see the image of my photos when synced to my pc. In "My Pictures" folder I see default name i.e. T106.ithmb but can't open and view image.

iTunes does not delete original image files during synchronization. The ITHMB files that you see in your image folder are iTunes service files that are created during synchronization and contain image thumbnails. To view them, you need to use third-party software like iThmb Converter.

Usual it happens after the windows is working for an our or more (not from the start). No matter if I try to activate it from the shortcut from the desktop or from program files list from HD. I know that it is opened in background because, when I shutdown the computer it asked me shall I keep the tabs etc....
If I tried to open it several times it opens every time but I just can not see it (not even in the Taskbar).

Your speaker is working with all other Apps and Audio Calls? If yes, it doesn't appear to be Hardware. Don't know what is causing it, but if it is software related then you can try an iPhone Reset by holding the Sleep Button and the Home Button down together for a bout 15 to 20 seconds until you see the white Apple logo ...then just let go of the two buttons and wait until the iPhone comes back up to your lock-screen. Try another FaceTime Call. If it still doesn't work you might have to update Software to iOS 7.1.1 if you are not already on it. If it still doesn't work, you might do a true iPhone Restore to a clean New In Box type configuration without Restoring from Backup. Don't worry in that after you test this configuration you can then Restore from your last good Backup. I would be thinking at that point that some Application you have on your iPhone was conflicting with the FaceTime App.
