When I merged my iPhone and iPad contact info., I lost all of the names that my messages were posted under. All conversations are now posted under phone numbers.
When setting up some iCloud info., agreed to merge iPhone and iPad contact info., and now most of my iPhone messages are listed by phone numbers, rather than by the person's name. Some of the names eventually showed up, but not many, and most of those now have the husband and wife's name together or just the family name (Millers, Smiths, etc.).

I'm not sure what you mean about downloading photos with iPhoto being double handling, but you can download direct to a folder with Image Capture. Image Capture can also be used to delete photos from the Camera Roll on the iPhone or iPad (preferrably after they are downloaded).
You can remove the photos you synced from your phone with iTunes by syncing again with an empty folder, That will delete all the photos that were previously synced that way, replacing them with the contents of the empty folder (that is, nothing). This will not effect photos takes with the camera on your iPhone.

Connecting the iPad to the internet via the iPhone is done by setting up a personal HotSpot, but you have to have that supported by your carrier and have to have established the account to do so.

When I use my iPhone Siri for dialing, it is better to have the names in the address book listed singularly. But when I want to print envelopes from the address book in a formal manner - "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". Is there any way to have both options?
Only way I can figure is having double entries one with singular + some unique field, (maybe called Siri), then making a Smart group for one or both.

When I text one person, It goes to another person...however, the name that I'm trying to text shows the number i'm trying to text. Also, my texts are sent through my email...why? The text preview shows up as the person I did NOT want to text, but when I open it, it shows the person I DID want to text.

Lost one "face" when sync'd with iPhone and IPad?
I have about 20 "faces" but, mysteriously, one of them doesn't appear in "faces" view via my iPhone and iPad.
I've tried renaming the "face" in iPhoto and then resyncing but it still doesn't appear, whilst all the others appear fine.
It's rather odd - any ideas why this might be happening?

When I connect my iPhone and ipad my computer does not recognise them
I have dropbox and I require my computer to upload files from my devices so i can backup.
When I plug any of my devices in they charge so its not the cords.
When I plug a devices in (Ipad or Iphone) should they appear in finder?
I can locate them in Iphotos to download the photos but this is time consuming as im double handling.
Dropbox is now also no longer automatically syncing photos from my phone (I have ask dropbox for support also)
It cant seem to find the devices when I plug them in... When i go into itunes I can sync to my phone but not from my phone... Which it has just filled my phone up with photos from my computer that I now can't delete of my phone at all I have posted this issue already..

So I see on IPHONE-Contacts all the contact details that I want to see.
I did the backup and it did not bring to my contacts for my mail in @icloud.com.
THen I did a VCARD format in Yahoo export. THen tried to import that file into ICLOUD. COM and got weird error and will not allow. SO thought may be too many contact. SO just tried to do one contact and get the same error.
So what are the steps on need to take to get say a YAHOO contact list into ICLOUD. COM contact (Using Windows platform).

Why does iPhoto open when I connect my iPhone and iPad to my iMac?
Whenever I connect my iPhone or iPad to my iMac, iPhoto opens. This started within the last week or two. Any suggestions? Are there some Preferences I can change to stop this? Thank you.

If the iphone is on a different IOS you'll see it in edit - preference - device - backups. IF it is on the same IOS it will overwrite the previous backup. -
I have a iphone 5 and I used to have 2k pics on it well I kept getting the " no storage is available" message so I deleted all of them and now I have 300 and a handful of apps and not that much music or videos and the message is coming up again..can someone shed some light on this for me? I didn't rename my iTunes library or anything. How can I sync with iTunes without erasing all my apps, app data and settings/messages etc on the iPhone/iPad?
If you moved your iTunes library by simply copying it to another drive, you may not be able to access your music even if you reconnect to that library, you may get a lot of "not found" errors because the music is not where the library thinks it should be. First thing to do is put it back where it was. Then reconnect it. Then follow the steps in this link:
