hi, i set up the mail at home, now move the mac to office, i cannot get any new emails now. anyone know why and how to do?

Everything I own (iPad, iPhone, mac) is set up on wi-fi. when i bring my work computer home (dell laptop), I cannot get it to keep the connection in a different room. All my other devices work.... does anybody know what i am doing wrong? please help!
Windows drivers for Intel wireless cards are known problematic.. If you have plenty of signal and it still cannot keep or hold the connection the issue can simply be the type of wireless.
Another problem is using names that windows does not easily handle.
eg If you set the TC using apple names, like
Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule wireless24ad12
Then to windows this is too long.. it has spaces and it has illegal character.
Change all names on the TC to suit windows. Short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Also security must be suitable.. I have no idea how old or what OS your dell is, but if you still have issues.. pull off the security on the TC for a test.. if the computer suddenly works, it is not compatible with WPA2 AES. Make sure you also use a password that is mix upper and lower case plus numbers.. avoid special characters and make it 10-20 characters long say.. it is not required to be more than that unless you are paranoid. -

I should have asked if it is a month by month subscription, or did you commit to a full year, but while that makes a difference to how long you can go without logging in to the internet, you should be able to be offline for a while. 30 days according to the FAQ

Be careful, FCP is an open system which is great, but it allows you to work with formats that are not completely compatible with fcp and can cause serious problems down the road. You can check the formats of all audio files brought into fcp by selecting them in the browser and hitting command-9, Use compressor to convert all audio files to 48k 16 bit aiffs before importing to fcp. There's a preset for this format in the apple presets. You mention video files. The same thing holds. In particular, avoid bringing in h264 quicktime movies. Convert to an fcp friendly format like prores using compressor.

How would I do this?If you have Lion installed, and run Boot Camp, it will create the boot flash for you, just followe the tutorial on screen. As far as I remember, this was not possible prior to Lion.

When I move a shape or text in Photoshop, the dimensions/size changes. How do I fix this?
It's always a decimal point too.
ex 1) moved a 20px x 40px rectangle, and rectangle's dimensions changed to 20px x 40.16px.

When I try to activate my home sharing on iTune I get this error message."home sharing could not be activated because an error occurred(-2146762487)" .How can I solve this problem?
I have a brand new iMac with all the newest updates etc etc, Safari logs me in without any problem but iTunes etc is just not working.. and I have the same message...Any ideas how to resolve this?

iMac at work, iMac at home. (Latest Yosemite and Apple Remote Desktop updates installed) Need to work from home at night. I don't know how to set my permissions so that I can just control my iMac at work.
If they have set up port forwarding for you already then that is different. In that case, then you could be experiencing the bug with the most recent release of ARD (3.7.2) and in particular ARD 3.7.2 and Yosemite ARD version 3.8 clients. It has been reported numerous times in the forums and to Apple that since 3.7.2, clients are frequently unavailable to connect to despite there being no network issue between the remote computer and client computer. I have not seen anyone report it who was working from outside the LAN to inside the LAN, but I have the same issue with a number of my own computers that are simply on a different subnet, so it stands rot reason that it would happen from a port forwarding location.
I am sometimes able to resolve the issue locally by SSH connecting into the client computer using Terminal on my admin machine and restarting or relaunching the ARD agent on the remote device, then trying to connect to it again after about 30 seconds.
The Terminal commands for this procedure are as follows, though you might need to include a port number from outside the LAN:
First:
ssh ipaddress -l adminusername
(example: ssh 192.168.1.1 -l macadmin)
Second:
sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -restart -agent
After that, waiting about 30 seconds and trying to observe or control usually works, though the computer may still fail to show an online or lit-up status indicator. -

If you have an installation disc for Elements 9, then I would suggest that you uninstall Elements 9 from your old computer, de-activate during the uninstallation. On Windows 8 computer, insert the disc and install Elements 9, activate it during installation. when trying to download photos from my digital cameras I keep getting the message that pics can't be downloaded because of an "unrecognizable format". It shows that they are all jpeg files. One camera is a Canon, the other a Panasonic. I have had these cameras for a few years and have never had a problem downloading.
I am having the same problem which has happened very infrequently before. Generally it's one photo and happened when my battery died.
However today I tried to download six photos.
None would download including several others for a total of 21 that would not download.
Since I had just installed a new powered hub and added three new external 4T hard drives, I got concerned that it was the hub. Then got really worried that I'd have problems with the data I have been backing up.
However following this sequence of events, I've determined it's not the hub, but still don't know what is causing the problem.
(1) Put a fresh battery in the camera - same results
(1.5) Used a different port in the new hub - same results
(2) Put the card in the card slot in the back of my iMac - no problems except that one image I knew about last week. The six new images imported.
(3) Tried again using the cable - still same error
(4) Changed cables - my husband has the same camera - still same error
(4) Put the card in his camera with his cable - still same error
(5) Put the card in a card reader and used the same slot in the new hub - no problems - same one wouldn't import but message that there are no new photos to import.
(6) Moved the offending one image to the Trash while the card was in the card reader
(7) Put the card back into my camera and used my cable. iPhoto had no error and displayed the message there are no new photos.
Conclusion:
Not the camera
Not the cable
Not the hub
Must remove bad photo from the card
However, I have not had to do that before. I went through several imports on vacation when there was one bad image and just ignored it each time.
Any idea why this is happening now?
