When I only want to close the current window to return to the previous window, the whole firefox site closes down, I end up back at my desktop & have to start all over again. How can this be fixed?
If I close a window I should be back at the previous window that I was at when I followed a link to this window. At least that's the way Internet Explorer works, which I have used for years. The only thing that prevents me from using Firefox exclusively is that it is very time consuming to have to start all over again from scratch every time I close a window. For instance, say I type "cats" into the search box. It gives me links to a list of "cats" sites. I go to a "cats" website, decide I don't like it so close the window to return to my list of sites, but instead of returning me to the list, I end up at my desktop. Then I have to start all over, just like I had not even been online. Very aggravating. I don't know how else to describe the problem, I can't believe that other people haven't had a similar complaint, unless I just have some settings wrong?
Now up to Firefox 8 and the problem persists. Cannot go to the www.turnitin.com page and login as I used to do -- Firefox does not remember my username or password.
Still works on Windows, and with other browsers... It would be great if a fix is available.

I am using Windows Vista. Both LastPass and the auto form filler have disappeared from my toolbar. Is there a way to retrieve this information or do I need to start again?
Do those extensions still show as installed in Tools > Add-ons > Extensions?
If not then it is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to check if there is a compatibility update available.
You can also check for problems with the localstore.rdf file if toolbar buttons are missing.

Pre-orders are only paid for when you download them, not at the time of pre-ordering - until a pre-order is released and you download it you could cancel the pre-order.

my itunes match keeps starting by itself.. gets to the third and final step (artwork) then starts all over again. it does this all by itself. itunes even opens by itself to do this. help!

how do I turn off the default radio in my music app. I cannot play my playlist until it first defaults to radio and then I have to start all over. this is very tedious!!!
This got me curious when I first saw it... It does indeed seem very Un-Apple-like (at least historically) to prevent a user from customizing their own device - Mac or iDevice - but today I'm unsure. I cannot grasp how a UX designer could leave a simple "OFF" switch out of the control panel. Another thing that Music Data Streaming does is eat up your Data Plan.
This May not be the exact issue as you describe, but seems to solve an issue of a Radio Playlist in iTunes resuming where it left off from the last use...

You can delete your old backups by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup.
But what do you mean by "start all over again like it's a new phone"? Do you mean you want to delete all the data in your iCloud account or delete everything on your phone and restore it as a new iPhone? -

I made a new slideshow-type and i put it in my library.
I want to change every slideshow (+90 pcs) only it is not done in 1 click...
I have to start complete over again, i drop the new slideshow and then i have to search all the picture's again, it cost me a lot of time to do so.

If you have anti virus software installed, you may need to disable that before downloading.

I would like to either enter my passwords on my phone over the computer or avoid doing it at all. Is there anyway I can do that? Like I said my keyboard is messed up and I have to turn my phone to the side to use the keyboard, but entering in the passwords the phone wont turn to the side. Help!!!!
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
There is no option to enter the password on the computer.
If the screen will not rotate, ensure that Portrait Lock is not enabled. -

Regarding the Back button drop-down: do all the entries take you to the same page?
Some sites now use scripts to add entries to your history as you ''scroll through a page''. This has been reported on a couple of different news sites. However, I'm not seeing that effect at the moment.
Can you compare the number of different locations you load in the sidebar to the number of entries on the back button history? Normally Firefox doesn't keep track of background requests that modify a page, but a script might be able to turn that on, or perhaps an add-on.
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].

I run firefox then start downloading it. It states that I have to finish unistalling a previous firefox and restart my computer. I do. When Istart my computer again nothing. I start to download it again and get the same thing.every time.
