When I open a file in Reader as soon as I attempt to do something with it it freezes?

The file opens but if I click to scroll down or print, for example it immediately goes into "not responding" mode and effectively freezes. I can close the application. I have fully uninstalled and downloaded afresh but it still happens. Any fixes? Cheers, Dave

I have a file with attachments (images and videos) which I can see and open when i open the file in windows xp by clicking on paper clip icon on left but I can't see these files when i open the same file on a windows 8 computer in adobe reader touch. However, the view large images is an issue for a form that is being distributed. Either a note needs to be added to the PDF to tell how to enable the view or the images need to be changed so that the enabling is not needed.

Since the installation of Firefox 8, I cannot download a specific file type from email. I use this for work and MUST be able to open these files with a specific software. When FF opens the file, it changes the extension and it will not open. Help!!!

I use the Microsoft Outlook Web App for work email. I receive files with a .RXML extension. This has always worked just fine until the latest version of Firefox came out (I was using FF 7 until this weekend). Now FF changes the extension to .ashx when I open the file and I cannot download it into my software. If I go to the company internet site and download directly from there, it does the same thing. But I can open these files just fine from IE. I REALLY don't want to have to go back to IE.

Issue regarding open word file and read only mode using c# & MS-word interop

i am programmatically open a word file for search and highlight keyword. my routine is working fine. the problem is when i am opening the file programmatically then a dialog come and ask me to open file in read only mode. the dialog look like below one
actually i do not want to open the file in read only mode because people can open and like to change and save. so guide me what i can do to not to open the file in read only mode.

I know it's a very old issue and I reached to this page looking for a solution. Finally, I have found a fix to this problem.
The problem is that we create an instance of Word and do not close it correctly. This makes program believe that the file is already open and hence you're getting the respective message of file being locked by you.
Set the visibility of your application to true and then when you close it both file and instance should close and you will not get the problem again.

I use my Adobe programs from the Creative Cloud. When our design agency sends me files, I open them and fonts I have on my computer aren't showing up when I open the file. Everywhere online it says I need to add the fonts to InDesign's font file, but since I'm working out of the Creative Cloud, I don't have that option. ID sees fonts installed on your computer and contained in a Document Fonts folder in the same folder as the document, if one exists.
I don't really understand what you are saying about fonts you have installed not showing up. And cloud makes no difference -- all the applications and support files are installed on your hard drive.

Photoshop locks when I open a file

I have CS5 and CS6. I had downloaded FontExplorer X but subsequently uninstalled it because I was not using it. Then the problems started... if I missed the little dialogue box that would pop up when I opened a file, PS would be locked. So I went to my plugin folder and deleted the folder for FontExplorer X all together. Now I can't even get a file to open in PS; it just locks and I can't do anything but end task from my task manager.
I am running Windows 7 on a PC. How can I get this plugin gone once and for all? I tried to go to Edit>Preferences>Plugins but without opening a file (which locks PS) I can't get to that menu choice.
Please help.

You may have to simply uninstall Photoshop altogether, then delete the remaining application folder as it may contain support files for FontExplorer. Then reinstall and try again.

When I open a file from Camera Raw in PS this is smaller than the screen so I double-click with the tool "hand" to fit on the screen, but the picture loses sharpness and becomes blurry. If you magnify the image even only slightly with the tool "zoom" the picture comes back clear. In Camera Raw instead is always sharp. I solve the problem by turning off the graphics card in PS but often use plugin that need the graphics card otherwise the processing time is much longer. I ask for help.

Just drag the small window to the top right below the toolbar, you'll see the area highlighted and when you drop it the file should dock.

Error message when I open Dreamweaver files

Hi,
I have troubled of Dreamweaver CS3 and hope some one can help
me. When I open a file from one of my site which is connecting to
database, I got error message that I have to close the Dreamweaver.
It doesn't tell much what exactly wrong at the error message. These
sites were working fine before. Any idea why this happen and how
can I fix it?

you using?
What OS do you run? Can you provide connection code and
recordset code?
Lastly, what version of Dreamweaver did you create your pages
in? If it was
8, was it updated to 8.02?

When I open Contacts file in Applications a dialog box states "All Contacts (no cards)" My contacts are still located on the computer because I can still send emails as the contacts address is show as soon as I start to enter the name.
Therefore I am unabled to view the full contacts listing.
How do I restore this list?

I was not aware of the existance of Previous Recipients.
However I have only added my contacts via the Contacts v Card.
I have selected all contacts and clicked "Add to Contacts" All now restored to original location.

Unable to open PDF files in Reader after canceling Acrobat subscription

I have a case# 0185794056. It involves a purchase of Pro XI and a cancellation shortly after. Since the cancellation of Pro XI, I have had difficulties accessing Reader. When I click to open a file in Reader, I receive a message stating I need to renew my Pro XI subscription. What can be done?

Hi Brian,
If I understand correctly, you're double-clicking a PDF in hopes of opening it in Reader, but it opens (or tries to) to open in Acrobat Pro, instead. Is that the case?
Did you uninstall Acrobat Pro after canceling your subscription? If not, I would start there. Or, you could also associate the PDF filename extension with Reader, instead of Pro (the steps vary by operating system).
