When I open a picture file (jpeg) the picture goes away.

When I open a jpeg and crop it, the picture goes away. I can not do any more editing. If I "undo" the crop the picture returns. My wife tried to edit a couple of pictures and ended up losing them totaly. There is not any forum post that I can find that address's this. Of course there is not a phone # to call or chat to start. There is not even an email I can send. Has anyone else found this out.
Also I cant seem to sign in. When I went to sign in to the forums I was FORCED to change my password. I still can't sign in to my product with either password.

You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an ''Open with'' download window.
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.

When I open an html file from the desktop all I see is source code rather than webpage.

I have tried clearing the cache and reading other questions similar. I have a mac and am opening these files from the desktop, not a server or anything so It's incredibly annoying that firefox wont open them as html files even though that is what they are saved as. Also there is no .txt after them. They are purely .html files.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. In OS X, by default apps will open with any previously opened documents opening as well. To disable this feature, select "Close windows when quitting an application" from System Preferences > General. To learn more, see this article:

That happens when iPhoto breaks the file path/link to the original image file. Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

Something really odd is going on. In your first screen shot, I noticed that the Applications folder does not have the proper icon displayed in the side bar. Also, in the title bar it lists it as Applications 08-59-29-909.
Not sure where it's picking up that odd name, unless it's because it's still truly within the Trash folder.
Try this. In the Finder > Preferences > General > turn on "Always open folders in a new window". (I have a feeling you have the default setting with this off).
Now, in Finder > Go > move down and open the Applications Folder from there. Now open the folder where you see all your applications that you show in your screen shot, select all, and move them to this true appliactions folder.
This is what you should properly seeing (but with different apps listed):
See how the Applications folder has the icon of the letter A shaped with a pencil, ruler & pen.

If you use iTunes' default settings then when you add a file to iTunes it places a copy of the file in the iTunes media folder and it leaves the original in place. The exception is when you drag it to the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.
It does not convert the file. You can delete the original if you wish.

I am encountering a missing font error on Adobe Illustrator for a font that I recently bought - Centrale Sans Bold. This font is clearly installed in the system's font folder and is also showing in the font list on Adobe Illustrator. But when I open an existing file containing this font it is giving the error "The document uses fonts or characters which are not available or are in a different format than originally specified".
We have also bought Centrale Sans regular from a different website as we couldn't find both on one, could that be clashing somehow?
Also the existing file was created on MAC plattform and we are using a windows plattform to open it. That to me doesn't seem like an issue as all other files are opening up fine and I have bought around 47 fonts and only this font seems to be not working. I have also written to the website I bought it from but I have also bought around 20-25 fonts from them and all the other fonts are working fine too. Maybe its an illustrator related problem?

There is one way its getting fixed. Once I update my Adobe Illustrator CC to Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 it is further allowing me to go into the system folder and allocate the font to the file so that it can replace it. My only concern now is that our MAC partners who will receive these files back from us have Adobe CS6. We will down save it to CS6 but I hope they won't experience any font issues because of us using CC 2014? Any light you can shed on this?

" Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder" . i can't find open containing folder in profile directory. it does give me the option to open the places.sqlite file using graphic converter. when i try that, graphic converter gives me a window saying that it can't be opened because it is corrupted or is not a file type supported by graphic converter.
i appreciate your help with a workaround to get the old bookmarks. that works. however, the problem has morphed from that concern to why adobe reader [the default app.] won't open firefox .sqlite files. is the problem in adobe reader or firefox? also, how can i tell if the places.sqlite file is corrupt?
