When I open a second Firefox browser window, the URL address window, instead of showing the URL, says "Go to a Web Site;" also, and more importantly, the "back" button is greyed out. This is a new problem, and the first Firefox window I open works fine.

After I open the first Firefox browser window, any additional window I open does not open my homepage, but opens a blank page with "New Tab" showing on the tab. An orange "Firefox" tab with a drop down arrow shows at the upper left hand corner of the screen. All of the options (File, Edit, etc.) are greyed out, however they will work if you move your cursor over them.
The URL address window says "Go to a Web Site". After I've gone to a website, the back button remains greyed out and I am not able to go back to a previous page. My RoboForm and Netcraft toolbars only show up in an abbreviate form. The add-on bar doesn't show up at all.
Again, this is a recent problem, and only happens after I've opened one browser window (which works fine) and then open additional browser windows (as few as one additional).

I had this same problem. Seems to be caused by the web developer tool bar FF extension (this started happening after a recent update to that extension). After disabling it, my FF is back to normal :)

You write that it worked "before"; before what? An update? Update from what version to what version?

Safari 7.0.4 Back button often greyed out.

Since updating to Mavericks and getting Safari 7.0.4 with that, often my Safari back button is greyed out when clicking on a link in a page. When a link opens a new window, of course there will be no back button function for that new window until you click on to another page. That is not the problem. My back button is greyed out often when I click on a link that changes the current window to the new page without giving me a new window. Normal surfing stuff. I have had to use my History dropdown to go back to the previous page.

Delete the cache and troubleshoot Safari extensions and plug-ins...
pen a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, try troubleshooting extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Sometimes my back button is greyed out and does not show the previous page i was just looking at!?

This randomly happens and i can not tell exactly what i do or why.
All i know is that every time you visit a page,site, picture etc... the back button remembers every page you have just been too in that session.
However some times the back button goes grey and i can not click on it and it loses all the previous pages i have been to.
I can reopen the last pages by going to my history but it's really annoying as it takes time and as i surf and look at a lot of things, the back button is crucial for me.

Some of the time the back button is greyed out when i have clicked on a new link. It's not a new window or tab, and the page I came from is not even in my history!

At first I thought I had unknowingly gone to a new tab or window, but that's not it. I haven't ruled out that I have completely lost my mind, but I'm really hoping that's not the problem, although with win 7 that seems more and more likely all the time. It seems to happen at random. I tired holding down or right clicking the back button but there is nothing. The fact that the page I came from is gone from the history seems really strange.

This issue can be caused by the McAfee SiteAdvisor extension.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

All 'edit in' options greyed out in Lightroom 5.6 in combination with PS CC, last night it worked fine, what has happened?

Last night the 'edit in' link between Lightroom 5.6 and Photoshop CC on MacOS 10.9.5 was working fine. This morning it is greyed out. Does anyone have a clue what might have happened? I did get a notice to say that my license would expire in 6 days (when I'll renew again), so what gives?

When I log off Firefox, there is a long delay, then an error message: Firefox not responding. Then it eventually logs off. The side bar scroll up and down also experiences delays. This is a new problem--I've used Firefox for years. Help!

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox to see if the problem would go away--no luck. It's not my mouse nor my keyboard. Internet Explorer does not have this problem nor any other application. When typing on websites, there is also a delay when the cursor is tabbed, and typing experiences fits and starts as well. I'm going crazy!

I am having trouble printing from photoshop CS5. I cannot choose print options. I am down to printing from Preview. I have a Mac OSX 10.6.8 and i am printing on an Epson pro 3880. this is a new problem

My epson help thinks its a program issue because i can print in preview.

HT1535 All of my books on my ipad are not backing up to itunes on my computer, this is a new problem. The backup used to capture everything. How do I fix this?

I have 130 books on my ipad but only 95 in itunes. I'm running the most current version of itunes. I used to be able to just do a backup to my computer and it would capture everything but now it's not doing it. How do I get all of my books backed up to my itunes on my computer (windows laptop).

If your phone is in recovery mode, all data on it are gone. Certainly before performing a software update, you backed up your data and imported your important photos onto your computer, right?

My iTunes / iPod is set to "sync only checked..." occasionally when I connect it has changed to "manually manage..." Why and more importantly, how do I stop it doing this? Thanks.

So far everytime this happens, I have to let iTunes wipe the iPod before it will revert to how I want it. Frustrating!

Others have the same issue, with the import button being grayed out. My trail copy expired, but I believe by poking around in the options and selecting another Aperture library and re-selecting, I was able to continue.
The problem is common enough, that hopefully Adobe will address. In the mean time, try repairing your Aperture library, checking permissions, exporting a subset of your library for a test, or try putting that library subset on an external drive. (Can usually avoid permissions issues.)

My standard list of things to do first for these wierd sort of problems, but I also tend to run these before I go to burn an iDVD project just to be safe. Keep in mind this list represents the programs I tend to use. There are several alternate programs that do the same things with some combining the functions of some of the ones below. So everyone has their favorites, but here are mine...
Run MacJanitor (free download) to do all the Unix Cron Maintenance scripts.
Run Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities) and repair disk permissions on your start up drive (typically your internal drive). Also verify any other drives mounted on the system, especially any external drives that you use for iMovie and iDVD projects.
Run Preferential Treatment (free download) to check for corrupt/damaged application and system preference files.
Run Cache Out X (free download) to clear all system and application caches.
Reboot your Mac (after running Cache Out X you are given the option to restart the machine).
My guess is that after running Cache Out X and restarting you might find your hard drive space back again. If not, you might try booting off your restore/install CD or DVD that came with your system and then trying to delete that log file, then rebooting with your hard drive again.
