When i open a single word or excel doc, it opens all doc

Hello all,
Today i transfered my important documents from PC wirelessly to my mac at home. I was able to connect to my PC wirelessly using my MBP and copy all important doc to my mac so that i can access them on my MBP. When i open a single word file from document folder, for some reason it opens all of my word docs within my document folder. The same goes for when i open a single Excel file, it opens all of the excel files within my document folder. Can anyone help me figure out how to stop this?

when you issue the Open command on a Mac, it will open ALL the documents you have selected (highlighted) even if they are different kinds and need different Applications.
Did you have multiple documents selected when you said Open or double clicked on one with many selected?

I believe on new mac this is how it works by default. There is a preference to turn this 'feature' off.
You should look in you login items under accounts under system preferences.
Here is how to find out what version of Mac OS you are running:
Click on the blue apple in the upper left hand of the screen.
click on this icon
Click on the first line, "About This Mac"
Most of these are numbers & that's what we want.

When converting multiple word and excel docs to a combined PDF random pages have blue background in the finalized PDF.

I have a user using Acrobat 10. It was installed two weeks ago and initially had no problems. Today she reported that when she tries to convert multiple word and excel docs by selecting them, and right clicking on them to select convert/combine to PDF, random pages in the finished PDF have a blue background. I did some searching online and can find no information about this problem. Can anyone here shed some light on this issue and maybe point me in the direction of a solution? Any help is appreciated. So, something I didn't consider was that this could be a setting in the office docs. The reason I didn't consider this was be cause we tested multiple docs and had similar results each time. I went back and looked into this possibility and found a setting in word that was causing this issue. Although the word doc showed no page color when opened in word, if I went to "Page Layout" -> "Page Color", a shade of blue was selected. By selecting "No Color", and then converting/combining the docs to PDF we got the desired result. Thanks again for your reply!

Honestly I don't know if it's a Lion or MS problem eihter. One thing you might want to do is restart the computer while holding down the Option key then select the Restore Volume and run Disk Utility and repair the Disk Permissions on the HD. Run DP at least 2x.

i am protecting jboss application,,,,using apache, and jk....
all work fine except for open a file(word,excel,txt,etc).
Disable the policy domain, everything goes just fine. microsoft file dialogue opens,you can open the file directly, or save it to your computer........
Enable the policy domain,, you can only save the file to your computer(file content is also correct),,,but cannot open it directly.it says the file path could not be found......but if the word/excel application is already running, you can open it fine...
PS:not a computer issue,,,every computers faceing the same problem

Where can I find PDF files, word and excel docs downloaded to my I ppad 3 ?

What app did you download them into ? The iPad doesn't have a file system like a 'normal' computer so unless you downloaded them into an app then they won't be stored on the iPad.

Acrobat 9.5, file corruption when combining .pdfs created from Word or Excel (from Office 2010) into a larger .pdf document

In Acrobat 9, when I combine .pdfs created from Word or Excel (from Office 2010) into a larger .pdf document, there is data corruption. Some of the text appears as blank boxes when the pages are inserted into the larger .pdf, the main document. I have so far solved this by "printing" the files to .pdf, and then inserting them into the larger .pdf main document, but this creates a fatter .pdf file that is much larger than would otherwise be the case. Are there any other solutions within Acrobat 9, please? If this bug has been solved in Acrobat X or XI, please advise. Thanks.

As far as the images are concerned, that may be a result of your choice of job settings. You may want to use the Press or Print option if the image quality is important. I assume you are talking about bit images in this case.
As to the hangup, have you checked to see if AcroTray is active on your system? It may not be running as needed. In the meantime, try checking print to file and then opening that file in Distiller to complete the conversion to PDF.
Before you ever try a reinstall, you need to do a repair first to see if that resolves the problem. There are a lot of unknowns about your exact process for the printing and your job settings that may be part of the problem. The rest of your system setup is useful in some cases, but did not help me see your problem.

Can't open form-protected Web resource from a link in a Word or Excel doc

I've run into an issue with OAM and Web resources protected by a Form authentication scheme.
Summary: I have a form-protected Web resource, and I add a hyperlink to that resource into a Microsoft Word or Excel document. Now, I click on the link in the document, and a Web browser is opened with the login form. However, the browser does not have any of the session cookies (ObFormLoginCookie, ObSSOCookie) required for the form to work, so the login only results in an error page.
(This issue is partly the fault of Word and Excel, because they try to open the link themselves, and so they get the session cookies. If they handed off all of the work to the default browser, this wouldn't be an issue.)
Is there a simple solution to this problem? Can I write code to extend the form authentication scheme to use something like the query string instead of the ObFormLoginCookie? Or am I faced with writing a custom AccessGate?
(I know this problem doesn't effect resources protected by Basic Over LDAP authentication, but then we lose the advantages of a custom login form.)

Delete word or excel docs?

how do i delete word and excel files i no longer need? i have tried to highlight and press delete and i have tried the drag and drop and that hasnt worked for me either, where am i going wrong???

Firefox 7 crashes when using "open all in tabs"

Since upgrading to FF7 (and 7.0.1) every time I use the "open all in tabs" command from the folder of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar, the whole thing freezes and never finished loading any of the pages. I also can't open another window and get anything to load there.
I'm tried starting up in safe mode and still have the issue. I reinstalled FF6 right over FF7 and it was back to normal with no problems.
No crash reports since it doesn't get that far. I have to close all windows and restart FF, then it works again until I try open all in tabs.

Finally found a fix that is working for me! I've been using it for the last 10 mins or so and has not crashed/hung once yet!

i am trying to export a bank statement from pdf to excel after scanning.
the error message i get is ;damaged document,or internal error.
what do these messages mean,and how do i fix the problem?

For now just keep the email they're in. You can also email it to yourself and grab it with your primary email archiving machine.
Hopefully we can look forward to resident apps which will store them, open them, edit them, etc. -- but none last I looked.

Mass installation of DocService ActiveX for Word and Excel doc on-line edit

if u want to edit on-line office document in KM, u have to have DocService ActiveX installed. Our customer has disabled feature of installation ActiveX for end-users, so we need to do mass installation on workstations. Any experience, how to do it?

I used regmon to obtain the registry keys added when you install the activeX control, and developped an msi with Visual Studio Installer.
Now, everytime a new editor need the activeX, I ask my domain administrator to deploy it to the user.
The other solution is to use the Java applet, but you need to deploy the JRE to all editors.

Open word or excel full screen not embedded

Im new to SAP and Solution manager so this question might be a little stupid. I searched the forum for an answer to this question and I couldn't find it. So my question is when we view or edit word and excel docs in solution manager can we have it open the file in word or excel without it being embedded in solution manager.

What area of Solution Manager are you having this issue when opening uploaded Word/Excel documents?
Are you opening them in change/edit mode or in view/display mode? Typically you would need to open them in change/edit mode. However more information would be helpful.
