When I open a template the pictures are in negative !

When I open any template ie an invitation, the pictures are in purple negative as are any I drag and drop. Any ideas out there?

I'm not sure if this is the same as the purple text many users see if they haven't updated both Snow Leopard & iWork but these two things to do that solve a lot of problems with the iWork ’08 &/or ’09 apps in Snow Leopard.
First, use the Mac OS 10.6.8 combo updater. This fixes a problem with fonts that is not fixed using the delta update (10.6.1 > 10.6.2).
Second, make sure your iWork applications are updated. For iWork '08 that is Pages 3.0.3 & Numbers 1.0.3. For iWork '09 it's Pages 4.1 & Numbers 2.1. If you're not running the latest versions & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. They must be in the iWork '08 or iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '08 or iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '08 or '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
Also, deleting the program's preference list is the #1 trouble-shooting step with any misbehaving application. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist, empty the Trash & then restart Pages. Repeat with Numbers & Keynote. This needs to be done for each user.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I am using using IDVD to create slide shows. When viewed on my computer the pictures are clear and of high quality. When I burn the slide show to a disk and play it back, the pictures are blurry and of poor quality.

The Mac software - iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD are not the best with the Ken Burns effect (zoom in/out effect), so you might want to minimize that effect; also, if your subjects are wearing stripes for instance, that will have an effect if you zoom. There is better software available for slideshows; however, I do not know of any that is free (and does a good job). I've used Photo to Movie for some time; it does a fine job even in HD, but you have to pay for it. I use iDVD extensively, but only to add a menu, theme, special effects, etc. and then to burn it.

When having apple print books using iphoto dthe printed pictures are much darker than shows on computer. Why, and what can be done to correct?

What color profile are the photos - th best is sRGB or camera RGB - Adobe RGB is very often reported to print too dark

When I open Firefox, all the letters are scrambled up together so I can't read them. The pictures are intact.

I have to use a different browser (Opera) because I can't figure out anything on Firefox. I used it before, and it worked fine, but suddenly started scrambling all the words so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and that didn't help.

Sometimes Firefox is incompatible with your graphics card/chipset driver software, which can manifest itself in strange display glitches. Could you try running Firefox in its Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to disable the hardware acceleration features, and also deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. You can hold down the Shift key when launching Firefox to try that. (Note: if Firefox is already running, you can use Alt+f to drop down the File menu then X to exit.)

Upgraded Firefox is hanging. When Firefox opens none of the bookmakrs are available immediately. They hang for a monent. When opening up a window in an application (i.e., email address search) the window hangs.

When opening Firefox, the bookmarks hang for up to 30 seconds before they can be accessed. Also have a hanging issue when opening a window/pop-up within an application (i.e., email search window).

Unless the schedule it's running on is every single time I open Firefox (including closing it & reopening it right away), I don't think that's the case. Also, I don't have any of these issues on the PC I switched back to v3.6 on. That one runs smoothly whether I run Ccleaner, registry optimizers, clear the cache & history or whatever. I thought after you first gave me the answer of deleting the session files that they must've got corrupted during the upgrade, but it seems that v4 just doesn't do a good job of retaining or maintaining those files without getting them corrupt or something.
If this is not an issue with everyone & I'm having it on both my PCs, then v4 has an issue with something that I install on my PCs that, I guess, many others don't although I don't know what that could be and I use everything I install or have running. So, I'm just going back to what works without having to dismantle my config one prog at a time to try to find what v4 may be finicky about.
By the way, I did check & couldn't find any cleaners that run automatically on my PCs.

Can I make the thumbnails in Lightroom bigger, when the pictures are missing/ offline?

I have a huge problem. There are some pictures from a friends wedding in lightroom who are missing/ offline. The problem is that the pictures aren't on my computer or memory card anymore and I already tried a data recovery with Disk Drill. Unfortunately the pictures (documents) which have been found by Disk Drill, are damaged and can't be opened. So the pictures are really gone.
But now I was looking in Lightroom (i've uploaded the pictures with Lightroom in the first place) and I see that the thumbnails are from a reasonable quality. That's why I am wondering if it's possible to larger the thumbnails without losing quality/ pixels. Of course I already tried a few things (SmillaEnlarger & some things in Photoshop), but unfortunately the pictures are still very bad.
Or is there any other way to get this pictures back? I still got the catalogus from Lightroom where the pictures where.

I have the exact same problem, I think. I was on my iPad 3's home page swiping R-L to locate a certain icon when all of a sudden the screen appeared to get HUGE. So big I could only see one or two icons. I couldn't even turn it off to try a reboot because after I pushed the sleep/wake button, I couldn't find the red slide bar. Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. That is becuase Pages 5.1 has numerous unnounced surprises for the unwary user. Among the surprises:
- it strips out images from headers and footers without warning
- it strips out bookmarks without wanring (yes, all those bookamrks you laboriously put into a document: poof! Gone.)
- it strips out alternating left/right margins, without warning.
There are many more suprises, as you'll see from glancing through these discussions. They fall into two main categories: things that are present in version 4.3 but that are missing in 5.1, things like
-mail merge
-meaningful Applescript/Services support
-non-contiguous text selection
-ability to set defaul zoom
-ability to see comments while editing
-ability to print comments
-ability to read RTF files
-ability to drag in hyperlinked ted from a browser
These about about 90 other features are gone.
Then there are the bugs. Hyperlinks do not reliably export to a PDF file any longer. There have been multiple problems with printing report. Some fonts place stray characters in the headers. Many reports of the program crashing, courrupting files, etc.
Fortunately for you, the previous version of Pages is still on your system. Export any documents you may have created or edited with Pages 5.1 (another great surprise: files created with version 5.1 cannot be read by any previous version of Pages: not just 4.3 but even 5.01!). Then trash 5.1 and use 4.3 until (unless?) it is stable and has a reasonably robust feature set.

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
