When I open a video in CS3 Extended, it's all blank.. help!

Hi everyone! I have Photoshop CS3 Extended on my Dell Laptop, and everything's working fine... except that when I open a video (whether through Import or Open) the video appears to be blank/ The keyframes are there, but everything's just plain white. I've tried different file formats (.avi, .mp4, .flv) but nothing works. Any kind of help will be much appreciated!

I never said one cannot make a GIF file from a video file.
I'm
simply pointing out the lunacy of doing this. One should not make a GIF
file from a video. Your example helped illustrate this.

find precious.
GIF is not a video format.

I only responded to you with the same treatment you responded to me with in the three replies. If you think I am a jerk for replying the way I did, then the same goes for you.

You seem to be very very confused. I am on no horse. My comments were no attack against you or your methods. I do not care if you make a GIF animation from video. I was simply trying to save you and your site visitors some trouble by relaying information that you appeared to lack.
If you sincerely asked for help, then there should have been no reason to act like a jerk to others. Use some honey.
It seems odd to bang one's head against a wall with Photoshop when there are so many other free options that can convert more video formats to GIF.
Information I lacked : The reason why the keyframes were blank, and why I couldn't open .avi files in PS CS3 Extended
I didn't need anyone to try and convince me that making .gif animations from videos wasn't worth it. My question was simple, and the information I needed was there point blank.
And if you really wanted to "save me and my site visitors" you shouldn't have pointed it out as "lunacy," or discouraged me. If you were truly concerned, then I apologize, but the next time you want to show  concern to someone, I suggest you make it apparent right off the bat. The way you show concern is questionable, just so you know. I'm telling you this because I want to save you from appearing antagonistic to anyone you might want to show your concern for.
That's all I have to say, really. Any further off-topic replies will be ignored. Bill Hunt has helped me quite a lot already, so this topic is now closed.
