When I open an html file from the desktop all I see is source code rather than webpage.

I have tried clearing the cache and reading other questions similar. I have a mac and am opening these files from the desktop, not a server or anything so It's incredibly annoying that firefox wont open them as html files even though that is what they are saved as. Also there is no .txt after them. They are purely .html files.

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

Firefox 16.0.2 is the last version that works on an Intel Mac with the OS X 10.5 operating system.

Another option to consider is to install the last Firefox 10.0.x ESR version as that version is more recent than the Firefox 16.0.2 version.

On my SmarterMail email system, every time I hit "reply" to draft a response to a message, Firefox has begun displaying a mass of HTML data from the original message, making it impossible to use, rather than just the simple text as previously.

I've been using this web-based email system for many years. Up until last week, every time I wanted to reply to a message, I simply clicked reply, and got a new message draft, with all the previous exchanges neatly tacked on the bottom in reverse chronological order. Now what happens is that I get a mass of HTML gobbledygook, which makes it very difficult to make out what the previous message said. This only affects the "view"ing of the new draft as when I send it, it comes out clean to the recipient. And it only affects my main desktop computer. (Windows XP).

This is obviously done using a valid AIM login name and the a href ="aim:goim? will launch an AIM Client and Message me.
As you say you would create a New Apple ID then this would be iCloud and an AIM valid Name (keeping the Password to 16 characters or less).
I am not aware of an iMessage equivalent that would do this to a Phone or iPad or to the Messages Beta as an iMessage.
To be clear.
What this HTML does is launch an AIM client (App) on the computer or the person viewing my page and then start a chat with the IM included in the HTML.
To do that it queries the AIM servers as to whether I am On line or Line and show a pic relevant to that status. (it does not stop Off Line IMs but I am set up for that. It also does not say if I am Available or Away.)
Edit to get html to show (not sure how to work this Raw code thing which dispalyed in the Reply wysiwyg screen.

If you use iTunes' default settings then when you add a file to iTunes it places a copy of the file in the iTunes media folder and it leaves the original in place. The exception is when you drag it to the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.
It does not convert the file. You can delete the original if you wish.

At the moment when you open a RAW-file from Adobe Bridge by double-clicking, RAW-file is opened only in Photoshop. In the settings Adobe Bridge - in "open RAW-files by double-clicking in Adobe Camera Raw» box is checked. When you try any changes in the settings Adobe Bridge system displays a message:
Bridge's parent application is not active. Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Everytime I try to open a pdf file from the internet a window pops up and tells me that my adobe reader has a problem or gives me a blank page. I have ie 10, adobe reader XI and adobe acrobat 8 pro. All this is on win 7. When I installed the acrobat 8 pro it could not find the adobepdf.dll. I searched the disc, and tried to direct the installation to it but it would not accept it. What can I do to correct this issue?

When I have an NEF file on my desktop and click on OPEN WITH, it shows the programs, including Photoshop, that will open it. But, when I click on OPEN WITH for an ARW image, it doesn't show Photoshop. However, your suggestion about dragging the images from the SD card on the desktop into the Photoshop icon provides me with a solution. This is much easier and quicker than the way I was doing it. Macbook Pro won't let me move files to HD without authentication. Also when I try to move files from the HD to the desk it just copies them.

This is configured in Finder preferences under the General icon. You can make some changes to that behavior.

You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an ''Open with'' download window.
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.

You can open files in CC from CS6 and earlier.
Due to updates to the text engines you might notice a text reflow - note that text won't reflow until it's interacted with.
