If you use iTunes' default settings then when you add a file to iTunes it places a copy of the file in the iTunes media folder and it leaves the original in place. The exception is when you drag it to the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.
It does not convert the file. You can delete the original if you wish.

This can happen if the HD icon is inadvertently dragged to the iPhoto Window.

Since you can't delete Apple IDs and having multiple Apple IDs can cause confusion, what you may want to do is rename your existing Apple ID to the new email (desired Apple ID). That would in effect do what you want, get rid of the old and give you the new.

To add to Niel's comment bear in mind that if you have a backup copy on an external HD and later delete the orignals on your Mac HD you will then only have one copy - so no backup.
If the pictures are precious you should have at least two copies, and ideally another copy kept off site,

We have recently purchased a number of the new W530 machines. They shipped with Windows 8, but our organization uses Windows 7.
When trying to boot to our WDS, the machines see the WDS, but will hang when installing the WIM files.
When booting from a Windows 7 DVD or USB install disk, it hangs at the Windows splash screen.
It doesn't matter if we use the HD that shipped with the machine or a different one, the same thing happens. We simply cannot get the machines to boot from any other device other than the HD it shipped with.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I can't imagine that these machines aren't capable of runnning Windows 7.

Sorry you are having trouble.
Go into the BIOS by pressing F1 when you see the ThinkPad logo.
Under the security heading scroll to the last item called secure boot and disable that feature.

Depends on the brand.
apple doesnt make ram, they use brands such as samsung. You can find great ram from macsales.com

All applications need to be placed in the application store for them to be officially usable on an iPhone or iPod touch.

Interesting tid bit. I created an AAC of the original file, deleted the original MP3 from my library and also deleted the Clean matched track from the icloud.
Result is that it matched with the explicit version of Mrs. Officer this time.
What I am curious about is which songs this is happening for. I've went thru a few batched of about 500 songs at a time and redownloaded in 256k for many tracks. Sadly we don't have people to bring this to our attention and I have so much music that it's impossible to go thru every song to make sure I am getting the right version.

Is there a way to import photos to imovie from a source other than iphoto or photo booth? I have a cd of pics that i'd like to use but I'd rather not import all the pics to iphoto if I don't have to.

Wow; I can drag the photos from the Finder directly into my project. I actually tried this, but I tried dragging them into the lower pane with all the source clips. That won't work, but if you drag the photos into the top pane where your edited work is it magically adds the photo(s). Thanks for the tip!

When I open emails with PDFs I click on the attachment (doing this all on my iPad) it gives me the option to "open in iBooks", I accept then after that the document is sucked into my iPad but I can't do anything with the PDF after that. Where is the actual file on my iPad? Why can't I email or send these PDFs to my cloud (Dropbox)?
It's like once they go into iBooks they're stuck forever.
