I use Firefox mainly for Tazareo.com. I have 2 screens so I have Taza open for information and adding data into that system. My problem is that I cannot download anything to taza and when I try it crashes and takes firefox with it. I have contacted Taza and they said it was not on their end. My IT guy has no clue and I really need to download and upload from my computer. My work load is increasing and I need to get this problem corrected. I know nothing about computers ( I was born about the time they were being invented) So if you could give me a step by step instructions on what might be the problem, I could hopefully fix this problem. I even went into a site that was suggested on Firefox to see if Java could troubleshoot and it crashed on that site.

How do I stop my whole laptop freezing when I use Firefox to visit a site that uses Java aplets?

For the last few weeks, whenever I've used Firefox to visit a trusted site that uses Java aplets, I've got a warning advising me to update Java. But when I check Java, it tells me I already have the most up to date version. However, as of today, whenever I visit the same trusted site my whole laptop freezes - cursor disappears, everything stops. I can't even use Restart - I have to manually disconnect the power. The same happens when I attempt to access Java via the Control Panel (to uninstall) - the moment the cursor hovers over Java, everything freezes and I have to disconnect power. I'm using Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit. HELP!!

I am using Firefox 3.6.13. When i open a youtube video in firefox it immediately shows that whole video is streamed (the progress bar shows red instead of grey). But the whole video is yet to be streamed. The information of how much is streamed becomes unavailable.
Listing 2 of the problems encountered because of this
1. Unable to estimate how much time I have to wait before the video is fully streamed
2. Cannot go forward or backward in the video in the streamed part.
(This problem does not occur in IE. I tried the link given below)

MacbookPro...tabs reset or don't respond when I use videos or sites that use Java or Flash...

I have a MacbookPro and it's been acting up lately and I'm not too sure why.
I run Mac OS X Version 10.6.8
The procefssor is 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory is 2BG 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
^^keep in mind I have no idea what any of that really means or how it really makes the computer work. I get the very basics and I mean very basics!
Over the last few months I've noticed something and it is getting more and more frequent. I will have a few tabs open and if I click a link that has video, a lot of flash or a lot of java is used it will staul the tabs and then say it can't be found and then ALL my tabs reset.
Example. I go to youtube and when I try and watch a video the page starts to freeze and that spinny color wheel starts. Most of the time I have to CLOSE the tab to get the page to stop loading. In many cases I have to close all tabs and reset Safari. I try not to view videos because of this. There is a site I view that has a chat room that uses java. Anytime I access that chat room all my tabs reset and or staul out and freeze. It does as well on Facebook but not as often since i use the mobile app the most.
I have no idea what is causing this. I don't download movies or anything from the internet and I go to the same sites on a daily basis. I don't download programs or software.
Should I upgrade my OS? What could this be and how can i fix it?
I have a new iMac desktop that I will be using when I move. Right now I use the laptop cause it's more convenient. I'd like to restore it to new and erase everythign on it since i"ve transferred all my files to the desktop but I'd like this little problem fixed first.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.

Thanks i think I got it working of a fashion.
Except the replace colour, does not seem to end up with the colour I picked using the picker tool. Its as though it hads not replaced the colour but blended in the desired colour with the old incorrect colour!
Buy trial and error picking not the right colour but close - which when mixed with the existing colour is close.
