When I open Firefox instead of Firefox startup I get iyogi search

When I click on Firefox instead of opening with Firefox startup page, the page opens iYogi search. I have also downloaded Firefox 4 but that does not open either.

Hello..!
To solve the issue, please implement the following steps:
1) Open a new window and load the first website that you want to set as the default home page.
2) At the top of the Firefox window, click on 'Tools' button followed by 'Options' on the 'Menu' bar. A new window should open now.
3) Select the 'General' panel.
4) Click on 'Use Current Page'.
5) Close the Firefox window and re-open it.
Once all the 5 steps are completed, you will be able to see a new startup page! In case you need any further clarifications or want our customer service representative to help you out, please send an e-mail to [email protected] Do remember to mention your full name and Customer Account ID.

  • When i open firefox amazon appears in the search bar which i can't delete

every time i open firefox amazon appears in the search window and i can't delete it.
why this has happened i don't know but it means ican't use firefiox as my search engine

Use the search bar to select Google as the search engine, it should then be used in all the searches including the location bar and the firefox start page.
    * Navigate to the start page by key into the location bar ''about:home'' an hitting the Return key.
Thanks for including your troubleshooting information. You have SearchDial that is probably part of your problem, some users consider that unwanted software or even malware. You also have an Amazon addon installed. There is also a ''user.js'' file likely created by search dial to modify your preferences.
'' Add to Amazon Wish List Button 1.10 ([email protected])
    MySearchDial 9.5.5.1 ({ad9a41d2-9a49-4fa6-a79e-71a0785364c8}) ''
First uninstall what you can. <br />
Use the addons page ''about:addons'' to uninstall unwanted addons, then also check your Windows Control Panel and uninstall any unwanted programs. Searching by date will help you find bundled software.
Second scan with multiple and up to date tools <br />
You need multiple tools because each finds some but not all problems.
Thirdly use the Search reset tool & review how Firefox works. <br />
You may also need to check for corrupted shortcuts and ''user.js'' file entries if the above reactions did not deal with them.
Post back to say what you have done and how you got on.

    '''General Malware removal advice'''
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

You need to use multiple and up-to-date tools as they will not all pick up the same things.
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good FREE permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]] article. Note the suggestion to use the Search Reset addon after removing the malware.
Hopefully any malware will be easily detected and removed. I would not suggest you try any manual hacks or edits of the Windows registry. (Once rogue files are removed any residual registry entry will not normally do any harm.)

  • When I open firefox all I get is the page outline the contents of the page is missing

For 2 days now this is all I get when I open mozilla/firefox.I can see the outside frame of the page eg:facebook. But I can't see the contents of the page,It doesn't matter what site I try to access it's the same.I have cleared my cache, cookies, defragged rebooted and nothing seems to work.I even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and still no change.I rely on this browser for a lot of things I do.Help please!

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I opened Firefox and got the message that I needed to download 4 because my version was not safe from attacks. I downloaded 4 and then I quit Firefox and reopened it, and got the same message as before. I am probably doing something incorrectly, but I have no idea what that could be.

  • When I open a new tab I no longer get the search bar with all of my recent pages, how do I restore this back to the default?

I was on demonoid and I accidentally installed some software that I didnt want to. Once this happened I noticed that on both of my browsers firefox and chrome that this search site named trovi.com has taken over as my homepage and over my new tab. I fixed the problem on chrome and I fixed the home page problem on Firefox, what I cant figure out is how to get rid of this bane when I open a new tab. All I have all of my useful sites pinned there and it is very annoying.
I have been searching through all the options and cannot find a way to change this back to default without restoring the entire browser back to default. Which I really dont want to do. Thanks in advance

  • I keep getting "500 Internal Server Error" when I open Firefox. I don't know why. This just began.

I recently uploaded the latest version of McAfee Security Center and the latest version of Firefox. Now when I open Firefox all I get is "500 Internal Server Error." I am now sure what do to.

There is an existing thread which might help you with this : see
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/780053
For background information, see the Wikipedia article on HTTP Codes at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes
    - and, if you want more information, there's a page explaining the 500 Error [http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E500.html HERE]
In brief, the 500 means that your request has reached the server but the server cannot process it, for some unspecified reason. It is not a client-side error message.

  • I cannot see see firefox start page when I open firefox

When I open Firefox I cannot get the default Firefox Start Page since the update to Firefox 20.0 .
I have used the Firefox Preferences Restore To Default option but it refuses to work

    Hi!
Do you mean the about:home page? You can type that on the URL bar to see if that's what you are looking for.
If that's the one you want, you can try to add it back into your preferences: [[How to set the home page]]
Let me know if that helps.

  • When I open Firefox, it opens my last tab instead of my homepage.

When I open Firefox browser, it opens the very last tab I had open instead of my homepage. It's getting very annoying since I can't figure out why or how to fix it.
~I have not installed any new software, search engines, or add-ons recently that would have caused this to happen.
~I have checked control panel > uninstall programs (searched by date added) to see if there were any unwanted addware or plug-ins that were installed, and I did not see any.
~I've played with the preferences by setting it to "Show my home page", "Show a blank page", and "Show my windows and tabs from last time". But nothing changes.
~I've done a few searches on the internet to see if anyone else has had this problem, or if there are any solutions I could find, but I can't find anything that sounds like my problem. Especially since this started happening right around the time Firefox updated to 31.0 (was it on 7/30/14? something like that). Although I must admit that it seems like it was acting up before that....but maybe not.
It's getting a bit frustrating that I can't figure out why it's doing this, or how to fix the problem. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to finding a solution.
    Thanks!

You can check if you have a <b>user.js</b> file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.
Note that Windows hides some file extensions by default.
Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension.
You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.

When I open firefox it is returning to the last viewed page instead of my homepage even though I have the settings set to clear history every time I close Firefox. I check and all of the previous history is still there and not deleted..

Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that that there are no longer Firefox or plugin-container processes left on the Processes tab in the Task Manager. Otherwise session restore will reopen the page(s) from the previous session.

  • When I open Firefox, 8 tabs automatically appear. How do I make just the homepage tab appear on startup?

When I open Firefox for the first time, 8 tabs always appear. Not only the homepage tab but 7 other tabs (mainly from add-ons I have installed). How do I make just the homepage tab appear on start-up?

    Hi,
Please try removing the homepage entries in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''General''' > '''Home Page:'''. For some add-ons, you may have to go into their settings.

  • How to disable autoloading of previously opened page when i open firefox ?

When i open firefox, the last opened website automatically load
instead of default firefox homepage. I do not want this due to privacy issue.
This did not happen in previous versions of Firefox.
    How to disable this ?

You can also check the startup setting:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my home page" "Show a blank page"
Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
