When I open Itunes, nothing happens. What do I do?
I use windows 7. I double click to open and it acts like its opening but nothing happens. Not really sure how to proceed. I uninstalled and reinstalled with nothing. I use 64 bit if that has anything to do with anything. I don't know anymore. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

I am trying to sync an old Ipad to my computer. It says it is version 3.2. When I plug it into my USB, nothing happens. My computer will not even recognize it. I can sync my Ipad 2 and all Ipods with no problem. Have no idea what to do???????????????

Have you charged it using the Wall Charger... If not... Plug it in for about an hour and then Connect to your computer.

I just updated to the latest software version 10.5 i beleive it said. and now when I try to open itunes nothing happens,no prompt no warning,absoulty nothing. does any one have any idea whats going on? this is a brandnew laptop it has worked upuntil the update. i am running windows 7 if that helps.Thank you all.
Try following steps and test out one at a time:
1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:

4. If that fails, repair your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR. -

Your iPod touch will never appear in Windows Explorer, by the way. It doesn't have the "disk mode" that the older iPods did.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

When I connect my iphone and open itunes the iphone icon shows up but when I click it nothing happens and the icon disappears. I have uninstalled and re-installed itunes. I just got an iphone 5c and downloaded ringtone maker and made a 30 second 4r ringtone and when I try to drag and drop it in the tones folder of itunes nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
If the file is a correctly formatted AAC file with the .m4r file extension and less than 40 seconds long, then iTunes should put it into the Tones section of the library and move it into the Tones folder inside your media folder.
I've just checked the current version of iTunes behaves as I've desribed, which it does for me at least.
You may need to have some tones in your library for the tones tab to display when the device is connected.

In the normal course of events, you can update by just running the iTunesSetup.exe. No special precautions need to be taken (beyond those you usually take with an update, or just in general, like maintaining a current backup).
