Check your userid autorecovery folder after you close Photoshop. If there are psb files in it delete them

I have two cameras of the same model and want to separate out the photos taken on each one. Is this possible?

I have a Canon and my husband has a Canon, and they are the same model (mistake!)
I imported his photos into my library (I'm the keeper of the photos), and now I want to seperate out his photos from mine.
To make matters worse, the dates are the same (since we travel together) and the file numbers overlap (because the world is out to get us).
They are thoroughly intermingled, but I'm hoping there is a super geeky way to seperate them.

Try to separate the photos by "import session".
Assuming you can recognize some of the photos you took - perhaps there are some photos showing your husband and some photos showing you - these photos will tell you the import session. All photos you import into the library will be assigned an import session metadata tag, so his photos should have all the same import session tag.
To show this thag, set the Info panel in the Inspector to "Edit" and add it to your current Metadata view.
Once you found the Import Session for your husband's photos, create a smart album based on this meta data tag.
When I import my husband's photos in my library, I use a metadata preset on import, that will assign automatically a keyword, set his copyright, and adds a color code. So I can see at a glance, which photos are my photos and which are his.

Multiple event handlers registered for the same event and error when adding users to sec groups

I've created and installed two event handlers (separate dll:s) and both are triggering on Project Published - initially, both are working fine.
After an IISReset, trying to create a new security group (or add a user to an existing group) will result in an error on the page and a corresponding error in the ULS log - the latter indicating an error in the method security.creategroups, and specifically
a problem 'An item with the same key has already been added.'
An SQL trace reveals a break in execution after executing the proc 'pub.MSP_ADMIN_ReadEventReceivers' which returns all registered event handlers.
In my case, the result of that proc execution shows that there are two event handlers registered with an EVENT_ID of 53 (Project Published) and with ORDER_FIRED set to 1 and 2 respectively.
I tried removing one of the event receivers using the Central Admin PWA interface and then everything worked just fine - I added the event receiver back again, and everything STILL worked! IISReset and I got the error back again. :-(
Since there's obviously some problem with reading multiple entries from that table regardless of the ORDER_FIRED differentiation, I tried temporarily modifying one of the '53' entries in the table directly and then the sec group was created just fine!
I would like to know if anyone else has seen this? I've seen this on three separate installations now after deploying a second event listener onto those systems.

yes I have seen the same issue. It is not related to April CU. I had the error before with SP1.
It is not only an issue with the security groups. At least in our case nothing worked at all. No custom field editing, all Queue Jobs failing.
For your case I suggest you consolidate your code in one eventhandler.
Theory says that you can have more than 1 (up to 999) eventhandlers for one Event (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms481079(v=office.12).aspx) but that seems not to
work. Not sure, if it worked in earlier versions.

When I last attempted to install the upgrade for Flash Player, I clicked on the license agreement and it came up in Arabic. What's going on and what do I do about it?

I did not try to install the upgrade. Just shut it down. What has happened and what problems might I have? Has someone hacked Flash Player, or has some been able to get thru my firewall (which is KIS)?

The License Agreement is localized in the various languages in one document, sorted alphabetically. Depending on the PDF reader Plugin you're using it'll go to the correct language, otherwise, it'll just go to the top of the page, which is in Arabic.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

When I launch Finder for the first time the same folders are always open

Hi. When I first boot up and launch Finder the same folders are always open on my boot drive. I close them all and continue to work on the computer, opening and closing folders as needed for that day's projects until I quit for the day. But the next time I start up (normally the next day) the same exact folders are open on my boot drive when I first open Finder or if I just double-click the drive. I've tried switching accounts and then back again and trashing Finder preferences, making sure every single folder is closed before I shut down, but the folders continue to show up as open the next time I boot up my Mac Pro. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks for your suggestion. In the meantime I contacted support at www.bombich.com (creator of Carbon Copy Cloner) and told them what I was thinking about doing and they suggested deleting the hidden .DS_Store files in the folders remaining open. This is the explanation they gave me:
This file, created by the Finder, keeps track of folder view options, icon positions, and other visual information about folders. A separate .DS_Store file is created in each directory about that directory.
So I went online and found the Terminal commands for showing (and hiding) hidden files and trashed, one by one, all the .DS_Store files in the folders that were remaining open and that did the trick. I've tested Finder several times on relaunch and reboot and it's working perfectly again. Folders remain closed as I've left them before shutting down. Big relief. And I've learned something about .DS_Store files.

Hi, I have the iphone 4 and I manually deleted all the voice memos on my iphone but they still appear on my iphone when I open Itunes on my computer and they still take up space. I am soon running out of space. Any ideas to permanantly get rid of some of the voice memos?
Am I the only one that really dislike the fact I cannot customize my iphone and cannot delete whatever files I want?
The only options i seem to have is to delete all my files WITHOUT a system restor because I tried doing a system restore and it puts back all my old files on my iphones.
I'm pretty desperate and any tips would help me a lot

If I understand you correctly, you purchased two albums directly from your iPhone and have successfully transferred the purchases to your iTunes library, but now you want to remove these two albums from your iPhone but having trouble, correct?
If so, you can manually delete the albums (song-by-song) by sliding your finger across each song's name, from left to right, then select the Delete button.
Or, while your iPhone is connected to iTunes click on the Music tab that you see in iTunes (where you specify what items to sync to your iPhone). At the bottom of that window (below Playlists, Genre, etc.) you'll see songs that are "manually" added to your iPhone, just un-check those and re-sync.

3.6 and 4.0 beta - really aren't intended to play well together.
As has been mentioned above, they tend to write over each other.
I managed to get both 3.6.15 and 4.0 beta 12 on the same machine.
But, I had to do it several times.
I got lucky by deleting everything Mozilla, then installing 4.0b12, then 3.6.15 - while making sure that each installed into a separate folder.
I also took care to copy out a couple of BookMark BackUp files - just in case.
My old 3.6# had become so bloated - and, Unstable - for Me, it was time.
The bookmarks were all that I was still interested in.
All the Plugins, Themes, AddOns, etc... had slowed the app to a crawl.
So, I did as complete a wipe of Mozilla bloat code that I could, including profiles.
I then did some registry cleaning.
Then I installed 4.0b12 and 3.6.15.
I can't open them both at the same time.
If I open 3.6.15 first, then open 4.0b12 - the beta comes up as 3.6.15.
If I open 4.0b12 first, then open 3.6.15 - the 3.6 comes up as the beta.
This has a lot to do with both apps sharing the same default profile.
I hope to drop down to one app in the near future.
So, cobbling multiple profiles in order to diddle side by side apps - isn't worth it at this stage.
For me, I can't open FF 4.0b12 when my virus protection is running. PCTools doesn't like some thing about the way FF4.0 wants to phone home when it opens.
So, I can't commit to the 4.0b12, yet.
3.6.15 was crashing on open too - until I uninstalled the feedback addon. - go figure -.
Also, I can't get the 4.0b12 to start in safe-mode with the PCTools antivirus running.
At the rater they are going, I don't see 3.6.# going away any time soon.

IPhoto freezes when i open the app, each time it is open on the same photo and when i try to swap to another photo it freezes until i force quit the app.

I have recently come back from a trip to Venice, i uploaded my photos to iPhoto to view and edit them, half way through the photos from day three of my trip it has frozen on a particular photo. I force quit the app and then re open it and it is still on the same image with the exact same problem. I am now unable to view any photos of my trip as they're all on iPhoto and i cannot access the albums because they are stuck on this one photo. I need to be able to access them by 11th March because i have a project due in about our trip and we need to include the best of our photos and at the moment i am being stopped from even looking at them. PLEASE HELP!

What version of iPhoto?
Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

However, I know there a quite a few number of changes. I raised this question more than a year ago, and the response I received had to do with the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents. However, if I use Acrobat Pro XI to save the same documents in Word and then run a comparison in Word all of the changes are marked. When a PDF is saved as a Word document in Acrobat Pro XI, is a different OCR module being used than the one used in Acrobat Pro XI for text recognition?

OCR is only for recoginition of the image / picture of text provided by an scanner.
Content typed into a Word file which is converted to a PDF is (in Word and in PDF) *not* an image or picture of text - it is the digital text. So, no OCR involved.
When the "digital" (renderable) text of a PDF's page content is exported to Word no OCR is involved.
When a PDF's content is from the image output of a scanner and this is a picture of text then OCR comes into play.
If this content is exported to Word before doing OCR then it is the image that is exported to the Word file.
Once OCR is performed it is the OCR output that is exported.
OCR output is (always will be) impacted by "the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents".
Regardless "Compare" is based on a Word file output to PDF1 then edits to the Word file followed by an output to PDF2. You use Acrobat Pro to do a compare of PDF1 & PDF2.
Paper 1 scanned to image 1 to image 1 in PDF1 that gets OCR 1 and
Paper 2 scanned to image 2 to image 2 in PDF2 that gets OCR 2
being processed with Acrobat Pro's Compare can certainly be done.
But - well you've described what can be observed.

Yes, it doesn't work. I ran in safe mode. nothing changed. I uninstalled Mozilla firefox with only standard removal, no change. I finally uninstalled Mozilla with complete removal and reinstalled it, then it return to normal. Why does this happen? Thanks for your reply.

Obvious question, but have you got 'Find My iPhone' set on both devices? Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone.

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.
