When I open multiple images, they open one on top of the other, filling the entire workspace
I'd like to be able to view them and edit them side by side, but when I click on one, it opens on top of the other. I don't know how to change this so the images can be edited side-by-side. I tried Cascade, but it's grayed out and not an option. Help!
It’s best to change preferences and then cascade and the other options become available.
Click Edit à Preferences à General
Then check Allow Floating Documents in full Edit.

I just set up a new computer running Windows 8.1. When I go to my icloud photostream, the pictures are in PNG format NOT JPG. When I open and upload photos from the photostream, the resolution is so low that the image quality is terrible. Help?!?
Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. why does pointer become a pinwheel when I open one particular folder only and prevent me from opening the apps in it and then keep me from closing the folder unless I shut down the computer completely. I can open all other folders on the desk top without a problem. My game folder never gave me trouble before.
Try this. Open one of your files. The window that contains your picture is named at the top. Command click on the name and you'll see the entire path starting with its name and then moving to the folder, the folder it is contained in, etc all the way to down to the hard drive volume name. This should tell you where to find the folder.

If so you can choose a blank template.

Regarding your suggestion to try the free LibreOffice, at the moment I don't need this, because I have downloaded a one-month trial Japanese Microsoft Office 2011 and can open my current files with that, although I do not want to revise any of my files until either this problem is solved, or I purchase a new MS Office.
Unfortunately there is not many MS Office software in English available here in Japan. I spoke to Microsoft Japan and even though they sell software, they do not sell any English verions of MS Office. Incredible, considering that the company itself is located in the US. They suggested I buy it from Amazon Japan, however Amazon do not have any available at this time and do not know if they will in the future.
Anyway, I have found a company which sells the downloaded English version (no disk). The software is Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Student 2011. I have not purchased it yet. It would take too long and the postage charges would be too high to purchase it from the US.

After installing Roboform 2.0.0;
Starting Firefox started to take too much time.
When i open a new tab, until the tab is fully loaded and Roboform realizes which website it is, Firefox does not respond.
When i tell Roboform to fill the username and password fields in a tab, until Roboform submits Firefox does not respond.
I mean, as if Roboform is not working background and Firefox cannot work multithread because of it. When i navigate from one tab to another, Roboform is also checking the tab and meanwhile Firefox is waiting for Roboform to finish its work.
Please help me about this problem.

When i open itunes it gives me the option to download the new version 10.3. my computer will not support 10.3. i can't by pass the download to continue with my current version of itunes. i've trashed and reinstalled 8.2.1 twice. any solutions?
I am in the same boat. I tried repeatedly to contact iTunes support, but was told each time that I had contacted the wrong deaprtment and they could not help me. There must be a way to still be able to use the iTunes store without paying for a system update. If not, I hope they will reimburse me the money I have in my acount.

When I open Firefox, it goes to the first page I open, but then stops and says "Not Responding" with the mouse cursor spinning. I hit the close button and it says Windows is searching for a solution (which doesn't come).

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

When i open iPhoto it says: "Caution: The iPhoto Library is locked..."

The database may have been damaged when you did that.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

When I open Iphoto 11 I see the events and pictures and I can open some pictures but the mayority wont open , when the open it is a triangle with ( ! ) insiteI need some help. I olso end up with a lot of dupplicates pictures it is frustrairing
That happens when iPhoto breaks the file path/link to the original image file. Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

I have problems with Gmail when I open it in Firefox. The button "write a letter" doesn't work. On the page it is seen as if the page is being downloaded but in fact not. As a result, I can't neither write new letters no reply to received mail.

-> Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically

This thread and all the followups are hilarious, if it weren't such a serious problem. OP, you may want to add a bit more information on how this drippy screen problem occurs: where do you live, what are the weather conditions, what are you doing with the Mac when it occurs, etc.
Yes, extreme moisture, to the extent of causing visible condensation, is Very Bad News for any electronic device, and more so with one that isn't tropicalized like the Mac. Besides trying to avoid subjecting it to such extreme temperature changes, using some kind of desiccant to absorb close range moisture and avoidint its use until it dried out, I can suggest placing some kind of absorbent material between the display and the keyboard to prevent the moisture on the glass from finding its way into the computer. I have a packardbell laptop with photoshop elements 8 installed from new. I have used it on several occasions but I cannot get it to run now. When I open a photo using elements the Adobe box pops up saying that the programme has unexpectedley quit? can anyone help me please as I have several photos to edit before the end of this month. However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
