When I open my browser it reloads itself 10 times before it stops. & will crash occassionally without an error report.

This happens every time I open my browser or even hit my home button! Then at some point during my session it will just close. No error message - nothing! This all began when I went to bookmark a site yesterday (clicked bookmarks) and it started flipping out ~ opening all sorts of pages... So I closed the browser and hence the problem I am having now continues....

When going to another page on a website firefox will crash completely without any error message.

I have tried the troubleshooting tips provided by Firefox but problem keeps coming up.
I mostly have trouble with the ilovehits.com website.
All the links on the site menu work fine except the "Start surfing"
link......When I click on that link Firefox will crash and I am returned to my desktop.
I have to activate Firefox again to browse.

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Try to delete or rename/move the prefs.js file and other possible prefs-##.js with a number and user.js files in the Firefox Profile Folder.

The other possibility is that someone with access to your machine (children?, co-worker?) set up all of your browsers to have that audio file set up as a default "home page". I had the same problem.
Solved it by starting Thunderbird in a safe mode (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode), closed it and started normally...
Thunderbird showed 1 window afterward... I did play around before that with disabling/enabling extensions but at the end the safe mode helped... Hopefully this helps someone :)

I will be posting this in all "weird sounds topics" just so you know.
These "weird" sounds you hear are from pacman.
Today is Pacmans 30:th birthday and google wanted to celebrate by making the pacman game playable at their website "www.google.com".
You will notice that their logo is changed to pacman with the map swapped out to the text "google".
The game will probably just be here today so all noises will be gone by tomorrow. If you don't want to hear the sound today then please don't visit google or just turn your volume down.

I just updated to the newest version of firefox for my mac laptop. It keeps crashing when I open the browser and does so even in safe mode. Laptop is about two years old. Might it be an issue with the OS? I have not updated to Leopard yet.

It seems that the problem is related to fonts.
(1) How were you updating your operating system ?
If you use *_Software Update_*, hurry up, download and apply the combo updater available from :

but CAUTION, this update introduce a serious problem with some fonts. At this time the only workaround available is to reinstall 10.6 tyhen apply the combo updater 10.6.6 available from :
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1349
(2) if you didn't used *_Software Update_*, run a maintenance tool like the free MAINTENANCE available from :
http://www.titanium.free.fr/index_us.html
Apply it to clear caches files, mainly those dedicated to fonts.
It would be also a good idea to check the health of your fonts with FontBook.

hi guys i just recently update to win8, and i install firefox on my computer few days ago. but then i found a problem, everytime when i open the browser, it pop up a aircraft shooting game on the website(definitely not the website problem, because i tried to use different website as the home page, the problem still exist) then i install the adblock and all those ad ons to prevent this but still doesnt work. now i am so frustrated, everytime when i open the browser i have to hear the shooting sound. can somebody plz help me to fix/ uninstall this problem, many thanks. When i updated my computer, my safari on applications wont open and says "safari quit unexpectedly" and wont open but when i open it on the application key on the mac, safari will open. how do i get safari back on my dock where it will open.

Drag the Safari icon straight up and off the Dock so it goes, "poof" ...
Now click and hold the Safari app in the Applications folder and drag that to the Dock.
See if you can open a webpage in Safari.
