As Jerry said, if you close all documents before quitting Numbers or Pages, you won't have them reopening when you launch the app again. If you don't want to have to close everything first try Lion Tweaks or the latest version of TinkerTool. Both have the option to turn off the resume feature for individual applications.

Thanks for your reply, but I had already turned the sound off there. I also removed email from the notifications shortcut on the top right of the screen.

since upgrading to Lion, I've noticed that when opening programs such as preview and quicktime it opens up a slew of recently viewed items. i can imagine how this could be a nice feature for one that is referencing said items, but i find it to be a nuisance and i dont like the screen clutter that comes from this. id like to instead open WHAT I want to open vs what my MBP thinks i might want to look at. is there a way to turn this off? its driving me nuts.

When i change password on a site, Firefox is pulling up and inserting my old stored password and failing to permit password changes. how do i turn this feature off?

i put in the new password, but when i push enter to accept new password changes, the old number of digits (blanked out) appears and the prompt "do i want firefox to remember the new password" appears. i want firefox to forget the old password and let me change it and quit inserting anything i don't ask for each time.

Click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Security | Saved Passwords (button) | Show Passwords (button) and remove the old password in there.

There is a plugin available for Mail called Attachment Tamer, which allows much greater control over the way Mail handles attachments, among other things. Icon view is one of them.

As Larry mentioned I use a different DAM (digital asset management) appliclation, Media Pro 1. For other possible DAM apps visit The DAM Forum which is for professional photographers. There the various apps are discussed along with workflows. If nothing else you'll get some good information on managing digital "negatives".

I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck.

Not that I have a solution... I'm just sympathizing as I have the same issue... can't select the frist album because the title bar... and strangely it's only happening in iphone4 not in 3GS... currently I am syncing my photo from Aperture... to reoslve this I just created dummy event with one meaningless photo inside. Ok, well you won't get a "speed scale" indicator when editing a title clip. You can only adjust duration. Now, is there music attached to the title clip? Are you adjusting the TITLE TEXT box ONLY? Try adjusting the clip BELOW Title Text box 1st, then Title Text clip. Is the Title attached to your own video OR is it one of iMovie's default Titles??

What IP address does the TC have and what IP does the computer have?
We need more info as we really have no idea what your network looks like.
Modem router, model, type of broadband?
TC setup as bridge or router?
Is the computer getting internet via the TC?
Are you using wireless or ethernet?
Have you set IPv6 correctly to local link in the computer on whichever network client is doing the connection?
Did this work the first time for backup and has now failed? If so simply reboot the TC. It is a constant bug that the TC is lost to the network.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.
