When I open Preview with multiple pictures, the graphics go crazy.
Whenever I go into finder and choose my CompactFlash card to open up some pictures, my complete screen locks up and then in about a minute everything starts moving again but my whole display looks weird. I took a screen shot. Here it is below.

I've also noticed a similar problem. Mostly it's just strange raster around the image if the window is larger than the image. Sometimes it fills the thumbnail area or messes up the menubar.
This problem seemed to occur after updating to Mac OS X v10.5.7.
I have tried trashing the Previews prefs files but that didn't help.
Any thoughts much appreciated!

I have been downloading pictures and they open up in Preview which is fine but I downloaded a bunch of them and now every time I open preview, ALL those pictures open up. This also happens with MS word - the last document open automatically opens. HELP!

What happens when you try? Does double clicking the ?home button bring up the Task Bar of recently used apps? If so what happens when you flick up on the preview screen for the app you want to close?
To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app. -
I just set up a new computer running Windows 8.1. When I go to my icloud photostream, the pictures are in PNG format NOT JPG. When I open and upload photos from the photostream, the resolution is so low that the image quality is terrible. Help?!?
Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

When I open Iphoto 11 I see the events and pictures and I can open some pictures but the mayority wont open , when the open it is a triangle with ( ! ) insiteI need some help. I olso end up with a lot of dupplicates pictures it is frustrairing
That happens when iPhoto breaks the file path/link to the original image file. Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check. -
I tried to move my images (over 25,000) to an External Hard drive to open up some memory, hoping to make my computer run faster. It took three hours to move the images and I see them all in the mac's menus. However when I try to open them with iPhoto now, none appeared. and when I tried to import them back to the main HD they come in to iPhoto just fine, but not with the albums nor any of the massive organization i'd created in the original. this represents years of images, and I can't imagine that I'd have to recopy them into folders/albums again.
Terrance Devlin answered a similar question back in April of last year. He said to make sure the ExHD is formatted to MAC OS Extended (Journaled) and to move the library to the ExHD and then open iPhoto with the option button and select "Choose Library" from the resulting menu.
Command "I" tells me that the new drive is formatted correctly. I can't locate the "Choose Library" when I open iPhoto with the opt button.
First, I wondered if the application needs to be on the same drive as the Library. I sure would like to know if I can find out how to restore all the folders I had them in. Terrance's advice helped the user that had asked the question.

When i open itunes it gives me the option to download the new version 10.3. my computer will not support 10.3. i can't by pass the download to continue with my current version of itunes. i've trashed and reinstalled 8.2.1 twice. any solutions?
I am in the same boat. I tried repeatedly to contact iTunes support, but was told each time that I had contacted the wrong deaprtment and they could not help me. There must be a way to still be able to use the iTunes store without paying for a system update. If not, I hope they will reimburse me the money I have in my acount.

When I open Firefox, it goes to the first page I open, but then stops and says "Not Responding" with the mouse cursor spinning. I hit the close button and it says Windows is searching for a solution (which doesn't come).
When I open Firefox again, it says:

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Regarding your suggestion to try the free LibreOffice, at the moment I don't need this, because I have downloaded a one-month trial Japanese Microsoft Office 2011 and can open my current files with that, although I do not want to revise any of my files until either this problem is solved, or I purchase a new MS Office.
Unfortunately there is not many MS Office software in English available here in Japan. I spoke to Microsoft Japan and even though they sell software, they do not sell any English verions of MS Office. Incredible, considering that the company itself is located in the US. They suggested I buy it from Amazon Japan, however Amazon do not have any available at this time and do not know if they will in the future.
Anyway, I have found a company which sells the downloaded English version (no disk). The software is Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Student 2011. I have not purchased it yet. It would take too long and the postage charges would be too high to purchase it from the US.

To add an iOS device to iTunes Match
On your iOS device, go to Settings > Music.
Note:
iTunes Match requires iOS 5.0.1 or later; you can find the

Tap the iTunes Match switch to On.To access your music in iCloud, open the Music Player app on your device.
Your music in iCloud will be integrated into your local music library. A download button will appear to the right of any content that you have in iCloud that doesn't already exist on your device.
Important:
When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.
By default, when adding an iOS device to iTunes Match, downloading over a cellular network is enabled1. To disable downloading over cellular for iTunes Match, choose Settings > Music > Use Cellular Data > Off.

I get the spinning beach ball when I open preview, it wont go away, can i somehow stop the process its trying to do?
You can quit Preview by selecting it in Activity Monitor and then clicking on the red octagon 'Quit Process'. That does not solve the issue of the beach ball' as such. Perhaps. a reinstall of the OS might sole the problem. That is simply a guess on my part.

-> Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
-> Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
-> Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
-> Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)
-> There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.
