When I play a song from the cloud on my iPad, is the song actually saved to the device or is it streaming it from the cloud? If saved, how do I clear the songs to not exceed the storage on my iPad since the iTunes library is way bigger?

When I play a song from the cloud in iTunes Match on my iPad, iis the track actually downloaded to the iPad, or is it streaming?  If downloading, wouldn't the tracks eventually exceed my storage capacity on the iPad since my iTunes library is way bigger?  Do i need to delets songs off the iPad eventually?

It is downloaded, and yes it takes up space and can eventually fill up your iPad.  It's supposed to delete older tracks as the music app plays new ones and space gets low, but other apps won't delete songs and free up the space. So if you were going to say use the camera app and it was full of music you would have to delete songs manually.
