Open a Finder window. If you see your Time Capsule in the "Shared" section of the sidebar, clicking on it should show the "Data" volume (or whatever you named it) in the main part of the window. Double-click on it to mount the "Data" volume.
If you don't see your Time Capsule in the Finder sidebar, you may not have enabled "disk sharing" in AirPort Utility. In AirPort Utility do a "manual setup of your Time Capsule, then select the Disks panel, then the "File Sharing" tab, then check "Enable file sharing", select a security method (I use "With a disk password"), fill in the remaining options as desired, then update the Time Capsule. Once it restarts, try again to see your Time Capsule in the Finder's sidebar.

If you keep getting a 'red' message it means that the HDD is faulty and will have to be replaced. You will have to format the new HDD in Disk Utility>Erase and then install the OSX and your data from Time Machine.

You ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below. If you use any iWork applications, you may need to delete them and redownload them from the App Store.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

You can backup 2 computers as long as the TC has enough space.
Your access might be restricted if you set it up with users.. you must log in with the correct user to get access to the files.
Otherwise you should be able to see both sparsebundles just with finder.

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. This hard drive so I copies all the files (400gb worth) to my time capsule hard drive (WD 3 TB but set up by the Mac book pro). Now I am not sure what I need to do. I wiped the other WD hard drive cleAn on my pc and want to set it up in a way that I can access the files on both a pc and a Mac. If I partition it on my MacBook pro will this work? If I do it do I need to save the file twice on both the pc and Mac partitions or simply by partitioning it the hard drive will ave files in both formats regardless of if it's from a pc or a Mac. X

We have 3 user profiles on mac book pro. want to upgrade to lion but want to be sure that all users are backed up to ext hard drive via Time Machine. When I go into Time Machine - I cant find anywhere my user account (1 of the 3) - loads of photos and documents. For other user accounts - if i go to open a folder i cant ''no permission'' is the message. All I want to be sure of is that there is a back up and for these 2 reasons I am far from sure.

Be sure they're not excluded in Time Machine Preferences > Options.
Also, if iPhoto is open while a backup is running, Time Machine may not be able to back up the changes in the iPhoto Library. It will "catch up" the next time, if it can.

That's correct; one user, even an Admin user, doesn't normally have access to another user's files. You should see the same behavior if you try to look at their data on your Mac.
Log on as the other users (or have them do it) to see their backups. -
Prompted to sing in iCloud and iMessages every time i turn on Mac Book Pro
In the last few weeks, every time I turn on my Mac Book Pro, I get a pop up asking me to sign into iCloud and I messages. After doing so, I go to my Messages-Preferences and Accounts to ensure my iMessages is active and it is not so I have to re-enter my Apple id . Once entered, iMessages is activated but when I go to Account - Details, it asks me a window comes up and says, To view account information of (iMessage ), enter Apple ID; I do enter my ID then a pop up comes up with "account details" It lists my username and below two spaces for my password which has dots to represent characters. I know that password is not my current ID password as it is shorter. When I type in my current password, it tells me I must use a password I have not used in the past year. I don't understand? IT is not like I am changing a password because I have not clicked on the button below called " manage Apple ID; where i can change password etc".

I would be happy to insert snap shots of the windows but don't know how to do so using my macbook, only my iPhone at this time.You showed a kernel panic file from OS X, apprantly Log Me In is installed into OS X or running when you log in.
You should be using the developers installer/unistaller to remove Log Me In from OS X.
Somehow it's in OS X, I don't know, but it's there and you need to remove it. I'm not dealing with Windows, just OS X.
Talk to Log Me In people and find out what is installed where so you can do a manual deletion out of OS X.
If that doesn't work, you have to reboot holding the Shift key down manually search for any Log Me In or Himachi files on your computer, in your System/Library/Extensions folder too, use the free Easy Find.

I'm leaving in Rio - Brazil. I intend to go to Orlando on September, 27 of this year! A display of my notebook MAC BOOK PRO 15" 2007 is broked.
I intend to bring with me to fix it at Apple Florida Mall store. I would like to know:

ArthurSome folks can't leave well enough alone, and insist on downloading all sorts of additional "stuff" that ends up making their Mac unstable.
Standard Mac OS X on properly-operating Hardware does not crash, unless you start installing too many add-ons.
You can run "just the basics" by holding down the Shift key at Startup. This does one pass of Disk Repair, then loads a minimal set of extensions, and comes up in Safe Mode. If it works OK that way, but crashes in "regular", it's the add-ons.
There ia another layer of add-on junk that can be added to Safari. If the only remaining problem is Safari crashing, those add-ons can be disabled as well. -

I have a mac book pro its early 2011 15" i updated it from snow leapord to lion since then i have been having a problem with the shutdown it takes a really long time. And i am now concerned because my mac took a lot of time to start up today it kept showing me the apple symbol for 3 min then it showed the login screen can u guys help me weather there is some issue with my mac or most of u are getting this problem. Should i install snow leapord again or should i bear with the issue untill an update is there pls help im really worried..... Thank you.

You'll only be abe to repair permissions on the partition where your operating system is installed. For instance the disk on which I have Lion installed is name MacJoseph so that is the only disk I can repair permission on unless I boot from an install DVD. To do a clean install see these instructions. It's not difficult at all. This article may explain more about a clean install. To re-download the Lion installer open your App store application, at the top of the App store where it say's 'Purchased' hold down the option key while clicking on 'purchased.' This will open your purchases and allow you to download Lion. When the installer finishes downloading quit the installer and it will be in your applications folder. Hope this helps.

To do the setup, plug it in via ethernet.. do not try to setup over wireless.. Once it is setup you can plug the TC into the network and use wireless.
Most likely you will use the TC in bridge to an existing modem router.. but we cannot help as you have no details of the network setup.
I do recommend in the setup of the TC you use SMB type names.. that means, short, no spaces pure alphanumeric.. as later Mac OS do have issues with long names, spaces and that apple shocker, the apostrophe. -
