When I plug in my apple TV it shows I have to cable connect to my PC for itunes. There wasn't a cable included with my apple tv. What do I do?
When I try to use my apple tv my screen shows that I must use a cable to plug into my PC iTunes. The only cable provided was the power cord. Am I doing something wrong?
You need a micro usb cable. You probably have one (or more) if you buy things such as digital cameras and other gadgets that require usb. I have a box of them that I have collected over the years.
If you don't have one go to your local Radio Shack and buy one, or go on line and buy one from Amazon. I have also seen them in CVS and Walgreens drugstores. You can also purchase them online from Amazon and other sites. Monoprice is inexpensive for all sorts of cabling--http://www.monoprice.com

Everytime i plug my iphone 4s into my windows laptop, usually it comes up with a small box saying 'installing device' but now it comes up with a box saying 'usb device not recoginised'. i have 4 usb ports in my laptop and i have tried plugging my iphone into each one, but it comes up with the same message. I have a Mac Book Pro with the serial number: C0*******TY3 and the model no: A1278. I wanted to charge it this morning, and it won't charge meaning that the light even won't turn on, and also my computer is dead, so I cannot change anything on the system preferences. You might want to try using another charger in case the charger is faulty. If that doesn't help, take the MacBook Pro and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test the system to see where the fault is.

my iphone4 has a broken lock screen button. im struggling to turn it on, when i plug it in it keeps restarting showing the apple sign then turning off again. any ideas how to fix this problem?
That happened to my brother earlier. He went into Facebooand then into another app and the same thing happened. he ended up having to restore it. Mine stayed with the Apple logo for a bit but its back to normal after pressing the buttons a million times. I hope you get your problem sorted. Goodluck!

We have two iphones in our house and they are both on the same itunes account. When I plug in my phone, my number shows up but it syncs giving me the music and contacts from the other phone. Is it possible to have itunes just see the stuff from my phone when I plug it in. I have had to create a new contacts list and I want to store it in itunes because this phone is a back-up phone. My regular iphone is being repaired. When I get back the phone from repairs, I want to be able to sync it so that itunes sees my contacts and not my daughters stuff. Is this possible?

My iphone5 no longer shows up as a device on my computer when I plug it in to a USB port on my laptop. It does not appear in iTunes as connected, either. It does show that it is connected and charging on the phone itself. This is a new problem. It used to work just fine.
Hi Why do you need to use a PC since iOS 7 you can download updates Apps everything Over wifi I have iPhone 5 s & 2 ipads in over a year I have never connected them to My Apple pc Try a wifi update If you have problems Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both Down until You see Apple Logo you will not last any data. Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album. These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer. If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar. Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices. -

Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7), then select Power from the left hand column of the System Profiler. Copy and paste the Battery Information back here.
Also it would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7).When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier. -

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

Downloaded older version and newer version of what. Any attempts to downgrade iOS are not allowed. Also, using iTunes with the latest iOS and iTunes requires the latest version.
I suggest that you remove and reinstall iTunes using this support document. You need to follow the steps exactly or you will just create more problems, which I think you already have. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 -

That screen means it has gone into recovery mode. You need to connect to a computer running iTunes by following the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 for the procedure of recovery mode connection.

My iPod touch is synced to my old Mac and I have a new PC. Now when I plug my iPod into the new computer it will make the connection sound, but will not show up in my iTunes. I do not care to have the content copied over. Any suggestions?

Try the other USB port. If it still doesn't show up in Disk Utility then there may be something wrong with your Mac. Try something else in each USB port and see if it is seen. If the other thing, like a USB thumb drive, does show up in disk utiltiy then the USB ports are fine.
Power down the system and restart with the drive connected, go to DU and see it it is seen. -

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
