When I plug in my iPhone 4S into my computer the iTunes program doesn't open. Only the Music iTunes opens
I have not synced my iPhone for some months. When I plugged it into my computer the iTunes program does not launch. There is an iTunes icon installed but this only opens as a Music/video program. There is no side panel where I select my device, account, apps, etc. I have tried re-installing iTunes but there is no difference. AutoPlay opens when I plug in the iPhone offering file, picture etc sharing but nothing elso opens.

I've broken my iPhone and have put my sim card in my old iPhone 3. If I plug my old iPhone 3 into my computer, will it update the iPhone 3 with everything that is on my phone that is now broken, or will it 'update' iTunes with what was on the old iPhone?
Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off. -
Well, I will explain. I got a new iPhone 5C last week, and since then I have not had time to plug it into iTunes on my computer as I was checking out all the new stuff (as it is my first iPhone). I also have an iPod touch 4th gen, which I was using before on which I had purchased lots of music and apps on. I was browsing my iTunes account today to find that a Katy Perry album I had bought was not appearing as "purchased" and available to download, it was instead coming up with the price of £7.99. Since I only have less than that on my account and have not credit card connected to my account, I thought I could at least try to see what would happen if I tapped to purchase it, knowing it couldn't charge me. Instead, I got a message saying that it had already been purchased or something like that. This got me quite confused, as I was sill not able to download it.
Knowing this, I was sure that the songs were on my account, so I got iTunes downloaded on laptop (latest version) in order to get them onto my iPhone. I plugged in my iPhone 5C, it was charging, but iTunes did not automatically open like it did before with my iPod Touch 4g. I then opened iTunes by clicking on the icon. iTunes opened but my phone wasn't showing up as a device. It is turned on and fully connected and charging, so I am really not sure why this is happening. If anyone could help it would be really good! Thanks!See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

There have been some problems accessing pages on the Apple web site. If the hyperlink gives you a "We're sorry" message, try again. -

When I plug my ipod into my computer and click on itunes, I get three songs listed in a library that is not mine. It does not seem to recognize my ipod.
Pete I was having a similure problem with my 5th Gen. I cut my losses and stress and restored my iPod to factory settings. It wiped the device clean, but with all my music in iTunes it put it all back on in a matter of 5 minutes. Yes you may loose some music, but oh well at least your device is working.

hello. my ive been trying to restore my ipod touch 4th gen because it was frozen on the apple logo. i got it to go to the connect to itunes image. i plugged it into my computer to try and restore. i open itunes and it says "you must restore this ipod to use itunes". i click ok and then i accept the terms. after that it shows that it will take 41 mins to restore, but then it says "we connot restore this, there was a problem. it also says to check your network connections or try again" my network connetions are on and its still not working! please help
Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

When I've plugged my phone into my car auxiliary cable it only plays out the left hand speakers. If anyone has any ideas or solutions to the problem I'd be very grateful.
Lthere are two ways, usually if u restart the phone it will reset, but the other is going to your system and shut it off manually...

this makes me really upset
You reinstalled the Apple USB driver and everything listed there? If so, then I suggest that you follow the instructions in this support document to remove and reinstall iTunes. Follow the directions in the support document exactly. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

When I plug in my iPhone my macbook pro either turns off or doesn't register my iPhone.
I have an iPhone 4 and whenever I plug it in to my macbook pro my computer either switches off, or it doesn't recognise my phone is plugged in. Which means I can't make it sync to itunes. I'm not super tech savvy, so any feedback that's not uber techy would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, rhaelyn.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPhone is not being registered by your Mac. Here is a troubleshooting guide that I would recommend going through.

I am trying to start up my new iPod. I plug it into iTunes on my cmoputer and nothing happens. The screen on the iPod is just a grey screen with "iOS 6" on it. There are no icons, no slider bar, nothing. What happened? What do I do?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- The try again -

After downloading the 64-bit version of iTunes on my Windows 7 machine I get the "Congratulations, you've successfully installed iTunes" message. However, when I plug in my iPhone I get an error message that says, in part, "...the required software is not installed. Run the installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes". I've been at this for hours, carefully deleting all Apple software (Apple Mobile Support, Quicktime, etc. and before each attempt to install the 64-bit version from Apple ( no third parties). Same result each time!!! Any ideas????
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?
