When i plug in my ipod, it doesnt show up when i go to my computer ? What will make it show up ?

I need help restoring from my computer
My 3gs randomly shuts off so I went to apple they said it was battery. I replaced battery and it would not boot back up. So put old battery back. So now I am trying to use my old phone 3g. When I plug in 3gs and back up it shows that I did. So I eject and plug in 3g phone , when I click restore from backup it doesnt show my other phone 3gs and my name at all.??? can you help

i just got a new hard drive, lost all of my data and have spent all day uploading my cds to itunes. The problem is when i plug my iphone into the computer it doesnt show up. The iphone shows its charging but won't show. PLEASE HELP!
This is now fixed after I installed the update to Snow Leopard 10.6.4

I am getting a run time error message that I've never seen before, it won't allow me to connect my ipod touch with windows. It says: An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
I have no idea what this means but it was working fine yesterday when I connected it.

I have downloaded the latest version of itunes but when i plug in my ipod it doesnt list any devices in itunes to enable me to choose my ipod to sync it. Its like there is a link missing or something blocking my computer talking to itunes. My computer itself recongnises the ipod but itunes doesn't. Please help!
Yes reinstalled itunes a couple of days ago but got it sorted now thanks, the problem was that when i wiped my computer last week and reinstalled everything using the discs the free McAfee anti virus that the computer came with was still in my all programmes list although i aren't using it. This morning i tried unistalling that (didn't think it would make any difference as the programme wasn't active) once uninstalled i pluged the ipod in and hey presto it is now recognised by itunes, THANK GOODNESS. So panick over for now, thank you very much.

when i plug in my ipod to my PC it makes a sound like it doesnt accept it. on the ipod, it says connect to itunes because it was disabled many times. why wont it connect?P.S I know nothing about this kind of stuff
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -

When I plug in my Ipod Touch to my computer I can not access my Itunes library. The following message appears "The program cant start because MSVCR80.dll is missing." Also, another message appears as well - "Error 7 Windows error 126" as well as APSDaemon.exe.
I have NO IDEA what the heck to do.

I have given up on my dell and bought an iMac 27"... Now how do I transfer my dell iTunes playlists from my dell to my iMac, as they are showing on the iMac when I plug in my iPod but it's not allowing to me to play them as they are shaded? I have also separately transferred all my music via my external drive from my dell to my iMac which is showing in iTunes but won't upload to my iPod... Just to confuse you even more my AppleTV which is linked to my log in email address and home sharing is showing and playing all the playlists I want to see on my iMac... Phew that was exhausting hope you understand and can help me:-)
You may have transferred all your songs, but your iPad is seeing the library as a different entity.
