When I plug in my ipod shuffle { early model } the play list that appears does not show what is actually on my ipod. Some I had deleted before and some songs that I have never had on my ipod. appear on the list I do not knw via the computer what is actually on my ipod. Any suggestions. Why cany itunes leave things alone. If it aint broke dont mend it. This has only happened since I down loaded the latest itunes.
Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem.

I have been using my shuffle with this computer for about 5 years now and haven't had a problem until today. Now when I plug in the shuffle using USB port itunes shuts down. It doesn't have this problem with our ipod touch. I tried a different cable but that didn't fix it.

When I plug in my iPod touch 5th generation the small battery in the top right hand corner shows the charged sign. The big battery that shows up in the middle still shows it is charging. I've already been 2 the apple store & it didn't help any. Any ideas?

Unplug your Iphone out of your computer and replug it back in. It took me several times before I could do this

Sometimes when I copy a CD into iTunes all of the songs do not show y up in one album, but mutiple albums, all with the same name. Is there an easy way to get all of the songs into one album.
Generally adding a common album artist will fix things.

I understand that you are having issues with your music displaying correctly. This may be an issues with the metadata stored within that song, and iTunes interpretation of that info.

A brief and probably non-helpful answer: I know of no way to eliminate your large amount of duplicates other than by repetitive, tedious manual effort.

Why does my keboard freeze when I plug in my ipod shuffle?
Hi for some reason my ipod shuffle which has worked really well up to now (and still works) freezes up my keyboard as soon as I put it in the usb. I have tried all variations of usbs all work fine except with the combination of ipod shuffle and keyboard - a mystery. Have checked the shuffle with other apple computers and it is fine. Also keyboard works great when ipod shuffle removed can anyone help?
Brian, another way of looking at this is: how many devices do you have connected to the USB port (the same one)? I've found through using external storage devices that one port can handle two devices. I had four going at once one time, but the same thing happened, only two would evenually connect.
There's a limit to connections per USB port, I'm just trying to see if you have too many connectins on one port. If so, obviously, if you have other USB ports available, plug the nano into it's own port and see if that "cures" the missing nano. -

If this is a 2nd gen shuffle, are you using the USB docking cable that originally came with the shuffle (with a mini-dock)? The cable for the 3rd and 4th gen shuffle does not work with the 2nd gen shuffle because the connector is different.
If you are using the correct cable, make sure the laptop is connected to its power adapter (so that it's not running on battery power). If there are other USB devices connected, you should try it with the shuffle as the only device. If it still does not work, confirm the USB port is working properly by connecting something else to the same port, preferably something similar like a USB flash drive or external drive.
If that doesn't help (and the USB port is confirmed to be working), you may have a faulty USB docking cable or there may be a hardware problem on the shuffle, such as bad headphones jack or faulty logic board. -
I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for about two years now and after about one year, I plugged in my iPod into my computer to sync more music. Here is the problem: The tab where you go to sync music to your iPod and shows the list of artists and songs you want to sync to the iPod, the tab I can get to but the list of songs and artists does not show up and the only way I can sync music to my iPod is to basically wipe my iPod and start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to do that because I do not have all the songs in my library that I have on my iPod. I have uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed it, but it did not work and I do not know what else to do. I would really appreciate helpful guidance to get it fixed if it can be fixed. I'm just wondering what step I should start with to resolve this. There's probably a library issue but I'm not really sure where to start with that.
I'm pretty sure that the voice over is what is giving the error with itunes because when I try to download it, it won't then the error will pop up after a few moments of itunes trying to download it.
