When I plug in my "restored" 6 Plus, the connection with my iMac

When I plug in my "restored" 6 Plus, the connection with my iMac & iTunes is fast & smooth.  BUT, as I add more Playlists to the phone, the color wheel starts & each steps slows to 10-30 seconds.  After I restore, it's quick again.  Thoughts?  I am running Yosemite, the new iTunes and the latest iPhone 6 iOS.  This never happened with any phones up to my 5S, but has happened consistently with my 6 and 6 Plus.  I click and drag Playlists.

I aporeciate the reply, but do recommend this if I only click & certain playlists?  I'm an album weirdo.  The more albums I manually clicked & dragged, the slower each step took (clicking the phone, hitting "add", hitting "playlists", hitting the actual playlist, the dragging it to the phone.  The more gigs of music on the phone, the more the color wheel spins with each step....but like I mentioned, after I've restored, it's very fast

  • My computer has Bitlocker encryption. When I plug in my iPod Shuffle to the USB port, iTunes does not recognize it.

My computer has Bitlocker encryption. When I plug in my iPod Shuffle to the USB port, iTunes does not recognize it. When asked to encrpt the Shuffle I say no, but still not recognized. When I encrypt it, still not recognized (even after it was restored by iTunes). Any suggestions please?

    Did you find a solution?
My touch is doing the same thing.

  • When I plugged my iPhone into a computer, the music that I deleted are still present on my iPhone but are grey/ghostly. Is there any way I can delete this!? It's taking up too much space!!!!

I deleted a bunch of songs by sliding over the song, and simply deleting it. When I plugged it into my sisters laptop, the music is still present and ghostly/grey looking. I can't slide over it and delete it. It's taking up too much space on my iPhone!!! How can I delete these!?
(the computer used to sync music from my iPhone and such isn't working, so I do everything not from a laptop)

It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it.

  • When i plug my phone into itunes for the ios update, it downloads but then says it cant connect to the server. How do i get my update?

When i plug my phone into itunes for the ios update, it downloads but then says it cant connect to the server. How do i get my update?

Here are Apple Steps for Error 21:
This error typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
    My additional advice:
Also Error 21 can occur with DFU Mode Restore, try Recovery Mode Restore. Restart computer. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. This usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Click Restore button of iTunes.

my memory card is not showing up on the home screen when i plug it in but it shows the computer found it in system preferences. when i plugged these into a imac back in school it showed up how come its not showing up on my less then 24hr old mac. sorry beginner mac user

Finder > Finder Menu > Finder Preferences (these are not in System Preferences)
The General pane has checkboxes for various devices to show on the Desktop. A memory card is considered an external drive. If you want to see it on the Desktop when it mounts, check the external drives checkbox.

When I plug my ipod into my computer the computer dosnt read it and I get a messege saying that the device is drawing to much power. How do I solve this problem???

I had the same problem with mine when I connect the ipod when it's full charged and turn on. The problem never happen when the ipod is charging or i'ts full charged and it's turn off. So just turn off your ipod down and connect to your mac again.

  • When I plug in my iPhone it makes the noise and charges, but wont bring it up in iTunes. It brings up my iPhone in a file under my computer

When i plug in my Iphone it makes the noise and charges, but wont bring it up in itunes. Instead it brings up my iphone in a file under my documents... Any help..??

Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album.  These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer.  If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.  To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar.  Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices.

  • Help! I'm in UK and need to recharge but when I plug in (using a power converter) the square white batter pack is buzzing - what does it mean????

Help! I'm in UK and need to recharge but when I plug in (using a power converter) the square white unit is buzzing - what does it mean? I am using a power adaptor that works for other items - shaver, phone etc. and they don't buzz - it's coming from the square white unit before it's connected to the computer so I don't want to then connect my mac incase it means there's something wrong. Getting desperate as I need to recharge!! Thanks for any help!

    Hi
If you're using a converter that changes the voltage from the UK ~230V to say 120V, rather than just a converter to different outlet/plug/socket sizes - then that's likely the problem.
All the Apple power units I've seen are rated from 100V to  240V & do not require any sort of voltage converter, just something to let you plug it into a UK outlet (or an Apple cable/connector set). Many cheap voltage converters can cause buzzing as you've described.
Many supermarkets & hardware/general stores will sell the right 'adaptor' for a couple of £UK - I'd find one rather than continue with the buzzing.

  • When I plug any of my phones into the computer it does not connect.

When I plug any of my phones into the computer it does not connect. I can hear a beep but that's it.  I checked all of my USB cords and the same results. Normally it would download my new pictures and start charging and that no longer happens. When I plug my wall charger in the phone charges.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Clifton I must disagree with you on the above statement. It is my opinion and experience that you should never connect the camera directly to any computer, Mac Windows Whatever.
It is always best to Remove the memory card from the camera and put it in a card reader, whether an external reader or one built into the computer, to copy images from the card.
Hi Shootist. I would be interested in hearing some reasoning on this. I almost always use a USB cable to connect my camera to the MBP for transferring pictures, and have moved about 30,000 this way over the last 6 years since my photography went digital. Recently, on the rare occassions when I have only a few to transfer and I was too lazy to go for the cable, I have used the card reader; about half those times I have difficulty getting the MBP to recognise the card. I find I have to press the card very hard into the slot for it to be recognised.
My rationale is quite possibly wrong, but I feel that the USB connectors are more robust and hard-wearing than the flimsy connectors on an SD card. Also, I haven't measured it, but I think the data transfer is faster with the cable. (I just came across this test, which reports noticeably faster transfer for cable than built-in card reader, but the computer was a PC)
Chiara, sorry for hijacking your thread.

    Try a SMC reset:

Follow directions for a battery you should not remove yourself.

I just reformatted my laptop (it's like new now). When I plug in my iPod/iPhone, in the Photos section, I don't have the option of choosing iPhoto to sync albums to my devices. What do I do so I iPhoto becomes an option in iTunes?

I didn't have iPhoto so I had to purchase it from the App store but that didn't help. I think the problem is because my devices still think they are synced to the previous version of my mac, but I don't know how to get them to sync with the new setup.
