Hi Why do you need to use a PC since iOS 7 you can download updates Apps everything Over wifi I have iPhone 5 s & 2 ipads in over a year I have never connected them to My Apple pc Try a wifi update If you have problems Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both Down until You see Apple Logo you will not last any data. I have not synced my iPhone for some months. When I plugged it into my computer the iTunes program does not launch. There is an iTunes icon installed but this only opens as a Music/video program. There is no side panel where I select my device, account, apps, etc. I have tried re-installing iTunes but there is no difference. AutoPlay opens when I plug in the iPhone offering file, picture etc sharing but nothing elso opens.

When I plug my ipod into my computer and click on itunes, I get three songs listed in a library that is not mine. It does not seem to recognize my ipod.
Pete I was having a similure problem with my 5th Gen. I cut my losses and stress and restored my iPod to factory settings. It wiped the device clean, but with all my music in iTunes it put it all back on in a matter of 5 minutes. Yes you may loose some music, but oh well at least your device is working.

Hi Shootist. I would be interested in hearing some reasoning on this. I almost always use a USB cable to connect my camera to the MBP for transferring pictures, and have moved about 30,000 this way over the last 6 years since my photography went digital. Recently, on the rare occassions when I have only a few to transfer and I was too lazy to go for the cable, I have used the card reader; about half those times I have difficulty getting the MBP to recognise the card. I find I have to press the card very hard into the slot for it to be recognised.
My rationale is quite possibly wrong, but I feel that the USB connectors are more robust and hard-wearing than the flimsy connectors on an SD card. Also, I haven't measured it, but I think the data transfer is faster with the cable. (I just came across this test, which reports noticeably faster transfer for cable than built-in card reader, but the computer was a PC)

I've been having some troubles with the latest version of Adobe Reader on an intel-based MacBook Pro running MacOSX 10.9 (Mavericks).
Environment Details:
Device type: MacBook Pro
OSX: 10.9 (Mavericks)
Adobe Reader version: 11.0.06
Details:
After installing Reader 11.0.06, the print dialogue box does not appear through the print button or through File -> Print... . As a result, I simply cannot print PDF documents when using Adobe Reader.
- Only 1 MacBook Pro affected
- The print dialogue box does appear for other application (i.e. Preview, Word, Excel, etc., etc.)
- Multiple restarts performed
- Attempted to download older versions with no success
- Attempted multiple uninstall/reinstalls
- Reset the CUPS printing system multiple times
- Validated that the account accessing/using Reader has full administrative privileges to the Adobe Reader application
- Occurs for multiple PDF's from various sources
-> Online source
-> Converted from Word
Additionally (I'm unsure if this is related or not), but after trying to perform an update, I receive the following error:

When I connect my iPad with usb to my mac the iPad gives me a "blinking" message asking to trust the computer. Problem is it does not give me enough time to select yes. What am I doing wrong? Help!
Everything that you sync to the iPad is done through iTunes or from downloading from the cloud if they are iTunes purchases or through iTunes Match, if subscribed.
It is also not possible to transfer music or certain other files though Bluetooth between other iPhones or Android devices. You can transfer between iOS devices, pictures through devices that are Airdrop capable. -
Have iMac with IMAP email, 3rd party. Use a rule to sort emails into various boxes. One box does not appear on Mail in new iPhone 5C. Emails sorted into that box are also missing. Any suggestions?
In which this just gets weirder and weirder...
I logged onto iCloud.com, signed into my account and created a rule there that emails from my husband's address should be allowed into the inbox. I sent another test msg from him to me and got the New Mail notification sound, the new mail showed up but in a flash disappeared. This happened in the space of about 3 seconds.
Messages from his email address are not even showing up in the Trash folder. WTH? -

What you need to do is enable home sharing in settings >iPod>home sharing is one of the options log on and away you go
In the iPod app it should show up in library
Remember that iTunes must be open on you computer to work

If you look in the top left hand corner, this is where the icon should appear apparently, but as you can see, on my account it just isnt appearing! my usb cable is new from an Apple store and isnt faulty. Hello. Since my last firefox update, I have been unable to type an email - the box within which one would usually type does not appear when I press 'reply' to a received email, or press 'compose'. The email provider is '123-reg.co.uk. I have been using both firefox and the provider ['webfusion Ltd/webmail123] successfully for well over a year. The provider says it is a browser problem. I can still add an attachment to the email header, which successfully can be sent, but the recipient gets my standard email 'signature' with font messages and the attachment. Can anyone help? About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
