I recently got an iphone 4, not a 4s. I updated it to the new iphone 5 download for iphone 4. When I plug in my iphone to itunes it says I need to update my itunes to 10.6.3. but i just downloaded the newest version. help. i really want to update my music on my phone

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

Randomly when I plug my Iphone 4s into Itunes it will tell me that it can't detect my phone and that I need to restore it. It doesn't happen every time, but maybe every two weeks.I restore it and then it works for a while, but then a couple weeks later I'll plug it in and I get the same message again. It's very frustrating because even though I have all the settings to save to cloud, my apps and data don't all come back.

I suppose I should have prefaced my question with the concern that I've read a number of other posts from people who have had a similar issue and when they tried to follow the directions, they ran into a multitude of other problems. As you might imagine, I'm hoping to avoid the creation of new problems as I try to solve this one. Thanks again.

i have entered the wong password on mi iPad 2 too many times and it says disabled connect to iTunes so when i plug it into the computer , iTunes says pad locked cannot sync until you unlock the iPad but i don't remember the password nor can i put it in
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

It's not listed as an option. If you are seeing your iPhone in iTunes then thats it. You just click sync. (It works exactly the same way as if it was plugged in)

I was trying to back up everything on my phone, with iTunes. Now it's locked and says:
iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.
But restoring will delete everything, and I don't think I have it all backed up....which is why I was trying to back it up.

When I unplug the phone from my laptop, the screen tells me to connect to iTunes. Then I connect to the computer, and it tells me I need to restore the phone. What is going on!?!?Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

my itunes will not open at all. it occasionally will open but when i plug my iphone into it the program freezes and crashes. please help as soon as possible
i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.

When I plug in iPhone (5.1.1) to computer, playlists show up on the iPhone (when plugged in), that do not appear when it is not plugged in. And I can't erase them. I have iTunes match, and deleted all my music on the iPhone, but that had no effect on the phantom playlist that shows up on the PC when I plug in the iPhone to the PC. I cannot manually move songs or playlists from the PC to the iPhone

What happens if you go to iTunes > File > Devices, do you get the option to Sync iPhone?
