When I plug my ipod in, nothing is in my itunes library?!
When I plug my ipod in, nothing is in my itunes library. I have been having some computer problems, but now there is nothing in my library. When I try to add a cd to my ipod it just goes straight to my library. My library is empty...HELP!!!
Glad I helped a little... With the computer issues your having I'm out of my depth. Is you library backed up in the cloud or on an other hard drive? At least then you could try a few things, but you're right, you may loose everything! Good Luck. Have you talked with a computer god about your issues? Sorry-- I can't help you more.

When i plug my ipod in nothing pops up is there another way to restore your ipod on itunes or is there a way to fix this issue and have an icon pop up?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You know when you plug an iPod in and that little window pops up and it let you import your photos? That won't pop up for my iPod touch 4th generation. I am plugging it in to the USB port on my computer and I want to import my photos and that little window does not pop up.
Did you try this:

Obviously not too smart with all this technology. I puchased a Blackberry Playbook Tablet and wanted to sync my itunes music, so following directions on the Playbook, I downloaded this app - Daniel Bingham Itunes sync - and when I went to my pc, I pulled it up, plugged in my Playbook and it did sync all my music from my Itunes library to the Playbook. However, now when I plug an ipod in my pc to charge or sync more music, my pc is not showing it recognizes any of my ipods being plugged in. It makes no mention of any of my ipods being connected! I also keep getting this "Found New Hardware Wizard" box that keeps popping up everytime I plug an ipod in - it originally showed up when I had Playbook plugged in to download all its info (I think) but it never completes, saying not compatible - so I click cancel. I have since clicked on remove New found hardware but it still pops up. Why does it continue to show with every Ipod now? Any idea on what I can do to repair this situation? Please help!

When I plug my ipod into my computer and open itunes, it just charges!!
The "Devices" bit doesn't pop up in itunes so i can;t actually transfer any music onto it.
Anyone have any ideas??
I'm really fed up with it!!Make sure you have tried the iPod on a different USB port, if you have not done so. And are you using the latest iTunes package downloaded from Apple, instead of the old disc that came with the iPod? Get the latest iTunes software here.

If it still does not work, try resetting the iPod using the two-button combo

If that does not work, try putting the iPod into Disk Mode first, then connect it to the computer.

ITunes freezes when I plug my iPod in. Please HELP
I have a 4G 8GB iPod touch, and it hasn't been synced into iTunes for about 2 months now because iTunes always freezes when I plug my iPOd into it.(I have iTunes 10.1 or which ever one is the latest version and it just freezes). Can anyone help or has the same problem?
I have the same problem
I managed to get it to work this way on Windows 7 SP1 X64
Itunes 10.2
Ipod 2g
Open Itunes
Open Task manager
Click on process tab
Connect Ipod 2g
Swap back to applications tab and check for not responding for Itunes
If Itunes goes not responding
Disconnect and reconnect Ipod, while viewing process tab
It may take a few times -
The cord works, theusb port works, and when I plug my ipod into the wall charger it works, but when I plug it into the computer, nothing, not even charging. P.S. it worked before I updated it to iOS 6.1.5
You do have iTunes 10.7 or later on the computer, right?
See:

I would start with

or

Try a different USB port on your computer. If your using a PC, the port on a keyboard is not strong enough; plug it into a USB port on the computer tower.
Be sure to wait awhile; mine sometimes takes a couple minutes to connect.
Another tip would be to open i-tunes before plugging ipod in.
If it still doesn't work, try resetting your ipod by turning the hold button on and off, then pressing and holding the center and menu buttons until the Apple logo shows up. When ipod returns to main screen, plug it into the computer again.
If nothing works, you may have a bad connection cord. -

I plugged it in to update last nightm, but all my music was erased and now it isn't even recognized. The iPod itself shows it being connected, but nothing on iTunes. Any ideas would be appreciated. eta2359

When I plug my iPod in to my computer iTunes crashes!
HELP!!! I've owned this iPod Mini for three months and now when I plug my iPod Mini in to my Mac labtop computer iTunes crashes and there isn't any more music on my iPod!!! What can I do????????
in time, your ipod will die permenantly. i know, its not a good thing to hear but yes, its surprising that you got it to work at all after it being through the washer. it was very smart to let the water dry out. i know people who panic and turn it on immidiatly to see if it still works. they wonder why it turns on, then off and never back on. but, sadly the water got into your hard drive. there is nothing you can do about it. dont try to open your hard drive though because they are made and assembled in dust free rooms. and i dont care how often you vaccuum, there is still dust in the air. where these things are assembled, the air is actually sucked out of the room so it is literally dust free. opening your hard drive will just make it worse, and may actually never work again if you do so. i have been repairing ipods for a year now, so if i were you, take my word for it.

My computer doesnt respond when i plug my ipod in
When i plug my Ipod into my pc nothing happens. I am unable to open ANY programs whatsoever. I am not using a high speed usb port this may be why but i am unsure. If anyone has any suggestions for me it would be greatly appreciated. When i unplug the Ipod then the programs i tried opening do open.
Welcome to Apple Discussions, flyboy212!
Sounds like a serious problem...usually when your computer freezes when you plug in your iPod, your antivirus is being a jerk. Disable your antivirus before you plug in your iPod.
Try using a high-speed USB hub as well. If you have USB 2.0 ports in the back (MAKE SURE they are 2.0) then plug your iPod in the back of the tower. That may be the case, it may not. Try these things, then repost.
