When I publish a project I get a white screen first with an arrow in the middle

I publish a project in either Captivate 6 or Captivate 7 and instead of the first slide coming up when you go to it, it has a big white screen with an arrow in the middle.
When you click the arrow -- it goes away and the first slide starts.
How do I get rid of the white screen first.
Is there a way to set up a title screen?

Well, that's the extent of my knowledge with Autoplay, I'm afraid. But some more details might help others be able to answer better:
Are you publishing as SWF or HTML5?
Do you experience this when previewing the project? When viewing it locally? When viewing on a server? Running the SWF file alone, or running the SWF file using its html file? On a particular device? All of the above?
Is this a problem with particular projects, or does it happen when you create a new project?
What specific versions of 6 and 7 are you publishing from?
There's also this thread which might be worth a look if you're experiencing the problems with HTML5: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1148299

Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is, then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

  • What do I do when I start my iMac I get a white screen with an apple and a moving circle?

All I get when my iMac is turned on is a white screen with an apple and a moving circle.  What should I do to get the iMac to boot?

Do you have reliable backup you can restore from, as an erase and re-install may be required?
Before you got down that route, it's possible that it might get fixed if you try again. Not sure about that particular error, but I have had errors in the past that Disk Utility wouldn't fix on the first attempt but then subsequently did.
It's also possible that the (around $99, I think) Disk Warrior might resolve it - but not guaranteed.
However, I just found this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3862376?start=15&tstart=0 have a look at Nirvi's post at the end - there may be hope (I've not tried this, although it seems to have helped a few, although not everybody - so at your own risk and I wouldn't try it if I didn't have backup).

  • For the past 2 weeks when I wake my computer I get a white screen in front of my background

for the past two weeks when i wake my computer from the sleep mode, I have a white screen in front of my background and the hard drive spins like I have restarted my computer.

Could be any number of things. What user trobleshooting have you tried? Restart (power off/on) reset, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. See if it works after the phone restarts. Next is a restore from a backup (make sure you made a current one), then restore as a new device, which deletes all data from your device. If it doesn't work after all that, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the local Apple store, it is probably a hardware issue.
I have seen something similar which is generally diagnosed as a hardware issue.

  • Why when I export an MP4, I get a white screen?

I've had Quicktime Player 7 Pro for awhile now. Before I had no problems exporting movies I created in After Effects from Quicktime as an MP4 and playing them back. But now, when I open a movie I created in After Effects and export it out of Quicktime as an MP4, it has great audio, but only shows a white screen. What has happened?
    Please help?

I think I figured it out. What I was doing was opening a MP4 I created in After Effects and rendering it out of Quicktime to a MP4 to make the file smaller. For some reason this doesn't work anymore.
But, if I render a mov in After Effects and then open that in QT and render it out to a MP4, it works fine. You know why this is?

  • Will not start - get a white screen and  gray folder with ?

I tried to erase the drive and reinstall snow leopard - which got interupted.
Now when I try to start - I just get a white screen - sometimes with a folder and question mark in the middle of the screen.
I tried rebooting with original OS disc - while holding option key - but it eventually kicks the disc out.
    thanks

There are four general causes of this issue:
    1. The computer's PRAM no longer contains a valid startup disk setting when there aren't any problems with the disk itself. This can be checked for by pressing the Option key and seeing if the drive appears.
    2. The internal drive's directory structure has become damaged. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to perform the repair.
    3. Critical system files have been deleted. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to reinstall them.
    4. The internal drive has died or become unplugged. This is the most likely case if the computer took a sharp impact or there are unusual sounds coming from its location.

I can access my music library, but Itunes Store is not opening. I am just getting a white screen. Any suggestions?

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that didn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter the Wi-Fi password.
If that doesn't help, try here >  iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • External Variable Null Pointer Exception when I publish two projects

I have the following external variables exception thrown when I publish two projects alongside each other. These projects share the majority of there 50 odd project variables. (I know that this is a bit excessive but the customer wants to be able to search under this many variables). I have checked and found that there are not any differences in the variables across the two projects.
This exception is brought up when the second of the projects is published, no matter which way around they are published. In two incidences, out of about 30, I have managed to deploy this code without this problem occuring.
I am using ALBPM Studio Version: 6.0.5 Build: #97234 and ALBPM Enterprise Version: 6.0.5 Build: #97234. I am deploying these to a Sun Solaris 10 environment with an Oracle 10G database.
I would be very grateful for some assistance with this problem.

    Hi Simon,
If I were you, I would try installing the latest hotfix. There were some important fixes (such as #8715504) related to variable mappings.
May be it is a good idea to undeploy that project and deploy it again once the HF is installed.
    Hope this helps,
    Ariel
PS: Remember to regenerate and reinstall all the EARs once the HF is installed.

When you are having problems with a site - consider weather between you and it and amount of traffic (time of day).
Bad weather can cause problems with a connection as it travels on the information highway - hazard a guess all traffic that went through Buffalo is being routed elsewhere.
Bad weather can slow down handshake etc to the point of requiring too many resends - so Ibook is timing you out.

This can also be a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
You will have to redo App Tabs and Tab Groups after deleting sessionstore.js.

From within Photoshop Elements, when I try to open Editor, a box opens that states I must activate the software.  I registered and activated the software last year.  When I click to activate, I get a message that I am not connected to the internet.  I am connected.  How do I get Editor to work?

You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them.  This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.
A redemption code is something that is usually on the inner disc packaging if you purchase the media in a box, and there is a barcode on the outside of the packaging that must be scanned at the checkout register to activate the hidden inner code so you can redeem it at home on that website.  This is what happens if you buy PSE from a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy.  I don’t’ know what happens if you purchase the downloaded version as I have never done that.
A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once.  The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon.
