Okay so I make a lot of videos on my mac for my Youtube Channel. I have quite a few projects and movies from Movie, but ive recently switched over to Final Cut pro and the rest is history. However im running out of space on my hard drive, FAST! to the point i cant even edit my new video. Silly me for not paying attention to the warning signs (ie slow computer duh...)
So my question is, is it smart to delete my projects, events and original videos once ive exported and uploaded the the final video? I think Im quite the hoarder when it comes to these things like im worried i might need it for something. Is there anyone who has a YT channel or makes videos regularly relate to what im saying and what are your ways on saving space and what you do once you've finished your project?????
Thanks a bunch if you can help I just need someone else's insight and opinion to help me decide what to do....There are really two answers depending on how much money you are willing to spend, and how much editing you plan to do on the footage.
Option 1) You can rely on your Digital8 tapes for backup, and re-import them if you ever need the footage again. You can delete your event files (once you have completed all Projects). Once you have SHARED your projects in all sizes you need, the projects are in a compressed format. Once you delete the Event files, no further editing will be possible.
Option 2) Keep the Event Files on a large external hard drive, and back it up. This way, you have maximum flexibility for future editing, future new projects, and you don't have to worry about the lengthy import from a nearly obsolete tape format again. I recommend Option 2. External drives are relatively cheap these days, and your time is probably more valuable than the cost of an external drive and the cost of the re-import. -

I'm using Acrobat XI on Windows. I want to add my company's logotype as a watermark to a PDF document. How can I do this? When I add it as a file (jpeg), the logotype is printed on a white square background. It will be positioned on the PDF document on a light, uniform yellowing color. I want this to show through, as if the logotype was stamped directly on the document. Thanks.age to be completely transparent

You could try downloading a program called Calibre. It is very good at converting files between formats. I use it all the time to convert PDF's from work to read on iTunes when I don't want to have to keep zooming in and out to read the actual text.
I know that iBooks will read PDF's but they can get pretty squashed down some times. Especially if the original font was small to begin with. So I run them through Calibre and then email them to my phone and open them in iBooks. -

You first need an app on your iPad that supports the type of document that you want to store on it - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
For PDFs there are free apps such as Apple's iBooks app and also Adobe Reader - and paid-for apps such as GoodReader (which also supports read-only of word and excel documents).
As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network, email, dropbox etc. For iBooks you can add PDFs to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library and then sync them to the iBooks app via the Books tab. For Pages, Numbers and Keynote there is help here. -
In Outlook my PDF attachments appear as whole documents and not just the PDF icon. How can I have attachments included as PDF icons and not the documents?
For your own viewing, you can of course control-click on the attachment and select "View as Icon".
For others' viewing, it depends upon their email reader. To ensure that attachments are not displayed expicitly you can put them all in a zip file (via control click and "Compress") then attaching them, or you can use third party stuff like Attachment Tamer.

Somehow my iTunes app has been put into the trash. How can I get this and all of the stuff that was in it back to my Application folder? I try to drag it out of trash, but it won't work.
Also, when I do try to drag it out of the Trash to put it back into Applications (on the Finder sidebar), it asks me to authenticate with the administration password. I enter it, and then a window appears saying that I can't do that because I do not have permission to modify iTunes. Please help.

i cannot figure this out, either. and i am also not able to set a custom page size to tile (in this case, tabloid/landscape). the dialog box defaults to my ppd for my epson printer (max size = letter) even when i select the drop down for "printing" to a post script file. I've been using illustrator since it's first release and i'm really surprised that this is rudimentary step in finalizing docs for release has been complicated.

Sorry, but I don't understand what "5 1 hour video" means.
I do understand that you have a lot of clips that you want to group by various subjects, like vacation, etc. That's a perfect job for keywords, which perhaps is what you used when you named them?
If you did use keywords, go to that TL Index and click Tag at the top and then the keyword icon at the bottom. It should give you a list of only clips in that category. Select clip from the menu and it should highlight them. You could then copy and paste them to a new project for export. Repeat as necessary.
If you're going to do a lot of these, I'd suggest doing this from the event browser, applying keywords and then the clips into separate projects. But there are always more than one way to do things, and to each his/her own.
Again, I don't have any idea how long your footage is and whether it is even possible (or desirable) to fit it on to a single DVD. I mentioned iDVD because of its menu and sub menu capabilities. You will need another app like Compressor to do the chapter makers (unless Apple updates FCP before you finish your project and adds that capability. That would be nice,)

For example, scroll bars will appear when you zoom in on a page.

In the Single Page mode, you can swipe left/right (horizontally) or click the left/right arrow button with your mouse to go to the previous/next page.
In the Continuous Page mode, you can swipe or scroll up/down (vertically) to go to the previous/next page.
