    - Try another cable

    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • HT201302 When I open my ipod in My Computer nothing is displayed.

I used to be able to copy pictures from the camera roll on my ipod to my computer. But since I upgraded to ios 6.1.5 my ipod picture import always fails. It tells me how many pictures there are but can't pull in a single one.

I'm running Windows XP and using windows live photo gallery to bring in the pictures. This worked fine until the iOS upgrade. Now it (WLPG) displays the number of new pictures but can't load any of them. Eventually, it times out and offers to let me skip pictures with errors. If I do that it will step one at a time through every picture, erroring out on each one. Eventually finishing the import with nothing to show for it.
The iPod does show up in iTunes and will sync there.

  • When I connect my iPod to my MacBook, nothing happens.

When I connect my 2nd generation iPod touch to my MacBook, absolutely nothing happens. It does not show up in my itunes. My iPod does not come to life and start charging nor show any kind of reaction to being plugged into my computer at all.
I know it's not the USB port because I plugged my camera into my computer to check and that worked fine. My iPod still reacts when I put it into my iHome, so there's not something wrong with the port you plug the USB cable into on the iPod.
I have tried 4 different cables and none have worked. So I assume it's not a cable issue.
    Help?

There is a piece of software, Apple Mobile Device Services, which handles the communication between your touch and iTunes. It sounds like it is not operating. Follow the troubleshooting steps in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747
If you need to, removing and reinstalling iTunes may be needed. See this article for the proper way to do it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224

  • When I plug my ipad into my computer nothing happens

I have the ipad 2 and I cnat sync it to my computer.
I have the latest update of itunes and nothing happens when I plug it in
How can I sync my music and make the computer recognise it?
    Thank you

Keep in mind, the new iTunes is in a different format.  To revert to a more familiar format:
In the top menu bar in iTunes, select
    1.  View
    2.  Show sidebar
Is the device now on the more familiar left hand pane or still not recognized?

  • Why doesn't my card reader work when I take it from the camera and put it in the reader? Nothing happens and it doesn't show up in finder.

When I put my card into the reader, nothing happens. It doesn't show up in finder so I can't dismount it. The pictures on it aren't readeable all of a sudden, except for two of them, and that's all that would download to iphoto, but I had to connect the camera since the card reader doesn't resond.

    Hi bricknut dab,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Are you asking about the SD slot on your Mac, or is this an external card reader plugged into a USB port?  If it is the one on your Mac, the article below may be helpful.  Did you try more than one SD card?  You can use Disc Utility to erase and reformat the card if needed.
About the SD and SDXC card slot
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3553
I put the card in the slot, but it did not mount.  What should I do?
Remove the card and insert it again. Sometimes, if you put the SD card into the slot too slowly, it may not mount properly.
Can I reformat an SD card with Disk Utility?
Yes. Using Disk Utility, you can partition and format an SD device as FAT32 (using the MS-DOS FAT setting) or Mac OS Extended. The Mac OS Extended format can only be used on Macintosh systems. Cards formatted to Mac OS Extended will not be recognized by non-Apple systems. Formatting cards larger than 32GB for use with digital cameras, GPS, and other devices may require formatting them with the exFAT file system. When in doubt, format the cards in the device you intend to use with the card.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • My 120GB IPod classic is not recognized by my Windows 7 PC.  When I plug the ipod into my computer I receive a message saying that the USD device is not recognized.

My 120GB IPod classic is not recognized by my Windows 7 PC.  When I plug the ipod into my computer I receive a message saying that the USD device is not recognized.  The Device Manager lists it as an Unknown Device.  I've tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it, but it had no affect.  The odd thing is that our other iPod (160 GB Classic) is recognized on the same computer using the same USB cable.  When I plug the ipod in question into another PC, the PC seems to recognize the iPod and lists it in Windows Explorer (iTunes is not installed on this machine).  There seems to be something out of wack with this PC/iPod combo.  Any thoughts on what I can do to try to resolve this issue?  I tried all of the steps listed here, but they didn't help me.  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.
