Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

When watching a video in itunes, is there a way to zoom in on the video? For example, zooming to 200%?
I've been looking but can't find any option to do this.

You should be able to click on the change themes button and go back to your original theme.  If all of the text is currently in the book then make a backup before changing back just to be on the safe side.  To do so just click on the book icon and type Command+d (Duplicate).

  • Hello - I used a Sony DVD to burn 350 songs. When I put the DVD into another computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. What's preventing songs from being ripped?

Hello - I used a Sony DVD to burn 350 songs from my iTunes library to share with a friend. When I put the DVD into my friend's computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. Anybody know what's preventing me from ripping what's on the DVD?

When I put the DVD into my friend's computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes.
The import command only works with audio CDs. So if you burned the files in mp3 format, try instead using the "File > Add file to library" or "File > Add folder to library" commands.

  • When I put a CD into my computer to play on Itunes, it skips. Help Please.

Everytime I put a Cd in to play on Itunes it skipps. Also, When I'm importing a Cd and I go to the Itunes Store to preview a song it skipps as well. But, after the Cd has been imported it plays fine.

    Hello honkeygk8,
Thank you for the question.  I recommend checking your iTunes Preferences to see if it is set to import the CD automatically still.
    Use these steps:
    Import CDs automatically
    Choose Edit > Preferences.
In the General pane, choose Import CDs or Import CDs and Eject from the “When you insert a CD” pop-up menu. From now on, when you insert a CD, iTunes imports it automatically. If you plan to import a lot of CDs, choose Import CD and Eject to eject each CD after all the songs on it are imported.
You can find these steps in the following article:

  • ITunes and Computer freezes when ipod is connected

When I connect my video ipod to my computer (dell desktop) the system freezes, as in it will not respond to mouse clicks and keyboard (but can still get to task manager). When I unplug the ipod it comes back to life. Programs always freeze, but sometimes I am able to navigate within windows without it freezing, but as soon as a program is brought up, my computer falls to its knees.
I have the latest version of iTunes, and updater v. 1.1, (but I have not been able to update the firmware yet from v 1.0).
The odd thing is last night I was able to download several gigs worth of music to it without incident. I then tried to load movies (they were in the wrong format, but I didn't know it at the time), and so in an effort to correct that I uninstalled itunes, the ipod drivers, and the ipod updater programs several times.
I cannot update the ipod firmware because the computer freezes when the ipod is plugged in, so the program freezes as well. Kind of a catch 22 situation.
I have been over the forums and help archives for about an hour and a half now and I have come up dry.
Windows XP does recognize the ipod when the cable is connected, and the ipod flashes, "Do not disconnect", which it is supposed to do.
I suspect this is drivers/software, but I have no idea where to go from here.
    Help?

    Hey!
That EXACT thing happened to me! 2 nights ago I'm downloading like crazy, all is well. I got on LimeWire and downloaded some videos and tried to put them on my iPod. Imported them into iTunes then tried to put em on my iPod and it completely wiped out all my songs! So I get back on, put the songs back in, and about half way through the update the thing freezes. I've re-installed everything, and have reset my iPod. Did you figure out what to do? Maybe your fix will fix my problem, too.
    Thank you!

  • ITunes and Computer freeze when connecting 160GB iPod classic

    160 GB iPod Classic
    Model: MC293LL
    Version: 2.0.4 PC
    iTunes version: 11.1.3
    computers: 1 Win8 desktop,
1 Win7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1 Notebook
since yesterday I started having trouble with my iPod. When connecting it to the Notebook it showed a message: "There's a problem with this device. Scan the drive now and fix it". After clicking on scan and trying to fix the problem the notebook froze, so I connected it to me desktop, and it worked, it said that the problem was fixed. But when trying to open the iTunes it froze and after disconnecting it I realised the music was gone. So I connected it again, the same "There's a problem with this device. Scan the drive now and fix it"-message showed, but at the end the computer said it didn't detect any problem with the drive, so I opened iTunes and restored the iPod, and it worked but after that iTunes froze, then Windows Explorer and then the whole computer. Tried to connect the iPod to the Win7 Notebook and the same thing happened, first iTunes froze and then the computer froze, they both didn't show the blue screen.
What can I do? The iPod was already restored to the factory settings.

i had the same problem. all i did was download the newest version of itunes, which i had been putting off for months because it takes so long. after i did this itunes worked fine for me
    hope this helps

  • Software wont automatically start when I put the disc in the Computer

Whenever I put a disc in the computer, this one being the iPod mini disc to load up, it won't auomatically start. The cd goes on the desktop, but when you click it there is no installer option, its just folder after folder. can someone help me???

    Hello, Kaitlyn.
I don't have an iPod Mini, so what I'm talking directly about is the CD that came with my shuffle - it seems to be the same CD, though.
Put the CD in your drive.
Double click on the CD's icon. You'll probbaly want a copy of the mini's user guide on your computer, so drag the icon labeled 'iPod mini User Guide' onto your machine; the folder where you keep your user documents, or wherever you like.
If you already have iTunes on your machine (the mini's guide says you need 4.7 or later), you don't need to install the copy that comes on the CD. If you need it, double click on the folder named 'iTunes xxxx'. (Mine is 4.7.1) Read the 'Read Before You Install iTunes" document. Double click on the 'iTunesx.mpkg' icon. (Mine is iTunes4.mpkg) This will install iTunes on your computer; follow the instructions it gives you. You may also have to install QuickTime, if you don't have it.
Double click the folder called 'iPod installer'. Double Click the 'iPod.mpkg' icon. This will install the iPod software on your computer. On my machine, it's located in Applications/Utilities/iPod Software Updater.localized
    Good luck
