When I receive, scan or print a .pdf, Adobe Reader shows a dark screen, so I can't see the doc. If I print it, it usually prints correctly, but what happened to the print and scan preview screen?
Problems with Adobe Reader (read my question)
Try deleting the Adobe plugin and use the built in Preview. Hard drive level Library/Internet Plugins. If it isn't there, check your user Library.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library.

One of my contacts no longer has an icon for texting. It show the phone icon and his number is still present. I can still send and receive texts from this person but what happened to the "balloon" icon?

When I Print a PDF, Adobe Reader X Prints Doc As A Very Small Version
I have a Lexmark Interact S605 All In One Printer. When I scan documents as a pdf, and go to print, the actual document does not even fill the page. In fact it's a very small version of the document in the middle of the page. How do I somehow change the Page Scaling to "Fit To Printable Area?" It's embarrassing when I send these documents out to clients and they come back to me and say that these pdfs are very small on the page and do not even come close to filling up the entire page as a pdf should. Are there settings that I can change so that when I print a pdf, it will Fit To Printable Area each time??? Thank you in advance for any help on this question. [email protected]

Question 1. I already asked this, Can I removed the Apple default apps?
No. But you can turn off automatic syncing and Push email and set the phone to retrieve mail manually.
Question 2. Can I control the way apps access the data network?
Sort of. Turn on Airplane mode which will disable the cellular modem then turn on WiFi only. With Airplane mode ON and WiFi ON, your phone will only connect to the internet using an available WiFi connection.
I can't find a way to prevent apps from using it or switching to it when my WI-FI drops momentarily.
Apps do not run in the background so they only way an app can attempt to connect is if you have it running. If you do not run the app, it cannot run up your bill. For Apps that have "background" notification, you can turn that option off in the settings for each of those apps.
Question 3. Is it possible for the mobile provider to turn my data network off while leaving the cellular network active?
That is up to your provider. Call them. Go into Settings, General, Network, and turn OFF Data Roaming.
Question 4. I'm trapped in a tough spot, is there something "technical" I can do, that I haven't mentioned bellow? There must be something to elevate the situation.
In the US, you can return the phone within thirty days and void the contract. If you do not have that option, or if you are past thirty days, you can pay the ETF (Early Termination Fee) and void the contract.
I live in a very rural area in the US and I have used all of the techniques listed above at different times. I hope this helps; I "get it" that a huge Surprise! data roaming bill at the end of the month can be upsetting. Try the stuff I listed above and if none of that works, paying the ETF might be cheaper than paying Surprise! bills every month.

I need to move an iTunes library from Computer 1 to Computer 2. Can I do this through Home Sharing, by dragging and dropping library items from one to the other? The library consists of iTunes purchases, home shared items and music/movies from our personal collection. Both computers have had all the accounts authorized, so I don't anticipate an issue there. I'd like to do this so that my son's ipod is impacted as little as possible -- specifically, his game scores/levels and other 3rd party data remain intact after the 1st sync and the organization of his icons remain intact.
Is there a way to do this smoothly and easily, protecting his ipod data/organization?Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear. If you replicate the library from Computer 1 to Computer 2 by copying it, then all will be well. I routinely sync my iPhone and iPad both at home and at work using a single library that I migrate between the two locations via an external drive which is kept up do date using SyncToy.
Backup the iPod touch on Computer 1.
Copy the entire iTunes folder from Computer 1 to Computer 2, replacing any existing iTunes folder on Computer 2.
Check that content is accessible in the migrated library. (Won't be a problem for a standard iTunes library where all the content is inside the iTunes Media folder which in turn is inside your iTunes folder).
Connect iPod touch to Computer 2.
Sync.
In the unlikely event that something goes wrong (it won't) then you can connect the device back to Computer 1 to restore it.
Note device backups are not stored within the iTunes library and stay on the machine on which they were created. It is theorectically possible to migrate them but there isn't really any point. Once you have synced the iPod with the copy of the library on Computer 2 then Computer 2 will make its own backup of the device.

Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone begins to restart. If still problem, Restore iPhone on your computer. Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to compter with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, click the Restore button of iTunes.

All Inbox emails can't be seen but can be opened by a right click and 'Open Message in New Tab'.
The Inbox appears blank but if clicked on then the shaded bar of an e-mail appears so they are all there. I've several Inboxes (this is my main and most important) and they seem unaffected.
Moving an e-mail elsewhere takes its invisibility with it! Other folder contents show up.
The Repair Folder in Properties seems to have no effect.And attached is a screen grab showing selected e-mails in the Inbox...the white space below are e-mails too!

You don't say what version you are using, but LV6.1 added remote control
of panels.
If already using LV6.1, look it up in the help and try out the examples.

What happened to the controls in QuickTime?
I like the new look of QuickTime, but what happened to the controls for editing video? I used to be able to hit the "I" key for inpoint, and the "O" key for endpoint, and then hit delete to remove that section. Now, I have to drag the selection tool around to do the cut. This is very awkward, especially when I need to fine-tune the areas where the cut is to be made.
Are there any tips on doing some more fine-tuned edits in QuickTime?I second SwagMeyer's request. He's not asking for any advanced trimming feature that would make things more difficult for the simple user: the IN and OUT shortcuts were presents and "invisible" also in QuickTimePro 7 and they would not affect that easiness of the application.

What happens to the apps if I sync to another pc
ok here is the question, I know that if I sync apps to another pc they will going to erase and reinstall the apps from purchased apps section but what happens to the saved data or games.. as an example; I have Hay Day game.. the game is at a certain level right now and I want to keep it that way.. once I sync it, it will be erased and reinstalled.. will it save my game progress? or how can I save it?

What happened to the multi-touch gestures in Finder?
I've updated to Lion last week. Overall, I think what Apple did was great to the overall experience. However, my only gripes are in Finder. What happened to the multi-touch gestures? The only thing that I can do is flip through files in cover view using two finger swipes.
What happened to the pinch to zoom in and out? I've seen other posts about this so I'll stop here. Apple please bring this function back. I'm tired of moving my mouse to the drag handle.
Secondly, I was using three finger swipes to navigate to the previous and next folder in Finder. Since two finger is used to flip through cover view, I see why they couldn't extend the back/forward function to two finger swipes as they did in Safari and I know that three finger swipe is used to change desktops. I wish that Apple was more creative to leave this function in somehow.
Is there a way to bring these functions back to Finder? These are the functions that I used all the time.That doesn't explain why they would remove the pinch to zoom in and out. That is not be used by anything else in finder. If I'm going through pictures, I would like to zoom in on the images for cover view.
As far as the three figure swipes to go back and forth in finder, I understand why that has been removed. However, Apple could have implemented the two finger swipe just like in Safari which is sensitive to the acceleration of the swipes. If you swipe with two fingers somewhat fast, you can go back and forth between previous and next page. If you swipe with two fingers slowly, you can pan left and right on the same page.
They could have done something to retain the functionality versus taking out the functionality all together. As of now, these functionalities do not exist. I'm hoping that something is going to change and we'll have to see what the future brings. -
What happens after the 90 days free trial period of Creative Cloud?
I just wanted to access a free trial Version of InDesign as I didn't have access to my computer with all the Adobe programs back home, but then I ended up (without beeing noticed properly) in the free Creative Cloud test period. Now I'm wondering, what happens after the 90 days, because I can't find any option to delete my Adobe-ID from the Creative Cloud.
I'm not interested in the paid version of Creative Cloud. How can I delete the connection of my Adobe-ID to Creative Cloud?
Thanks for your help!The free trial is for 30 days, not 90. Just do not want you to be suprised on day 31. And as Cozmicone said a dialog will appear telling you the trial is over and you will no longer be able to run InDesign.

Index does not work correctly in Firefox
