  • Do you lose known networks when you reset all settings?

I recently reset all settings on my iPod touch 4g ios 6.1.5 and was wondering if it also erases known networks and you have to input the password for them again. It asked me to do this for my home wifi but I'm not sure if it actually erases it. Please help. Thanks

Yes, it forgets all networks and you have to rejoin all networks

  • Ipad is showing connected to wifi but it is saying its not connected to internet.  I have reset all settings, tried to change IP address and subnet mask and nothing is working.

My ipad mini 3 is not showing that it is connected to the wifi, but it is saying it is not connected to the internet.  I have reset network settings and then reset all settings and it has not worked.  I have tried to change it to static and change the IP address and the subnet mask and that is not working either.  I have also tried to use the wifi in different places and that doesn't work either.  Please help!!!!  iPad is useless without the internet.

    1. Set router back to Auto DHCP.
    2. Turn off router for 30 seconds and on again.
    3. Re-boot iPad.

  • Why 'reset all settings' asking me to restore from backup

My 'facetime' stopped working for some reason. I did use facetime just a day ago and didn't do changes since then. For some reason it stopped working. So, as per my wife's advice, I did 'Reset all settings'. But, for some reason after doing its thing it is asking me to 'Set Up iPhone' with these options:Set Up as New iPhone, Restore from iCloud Backup, Restore from iTunes Backup. This scared me...did I lose my media. I have tons of videos and pictures of my son. I didn't want to lose them. So, I jsut stopped proceeding. Can some one help me?

I wouldn't go through the restore process yet, might as well set it up as a new phone( this basically tells the phone you want it as is [which in this case is full of data]) then see what you get, if there is no data then you can always do the restore from a backup
Incorrect.  Restore as new does just that, it wipes the phone and returns it to it's new out of the box condition with no data or settings.
It's not asking him to restore as new, re-read it. It is asking him to setup as new. Which is a common occurance when you reset all settings, even though it doesn't delete data from the phone.
So OP, you can do what randers4 wrote and spend some time going through the restore process, or you can tap on setup as new and check it out in 1 minute to see if the data is there. Whichever you do, I'm sure you will be fine. If you do setup as new and the data is not there, then proceed to restore from a backup.

  • HT4623 when I want to Reset All Settings , my phone ask for Restrictions Passcode

when I want to Reset All Settings , my phone ask for Restrictions Passcode , and i dont have no code on my phone

It sounds like you have Restrictions enabled on your iPhone.   This is different than setting a lock code on the home screen.
To view your restrictions, go to Settings -> General -> Restrictions.   You can see if there are any restrictions enabled on your phone from here.

  • When I'm in roaming I can't see identification of incoming phone number which I have already in my phonebook. When I came back from roaming the problem stayed. I tried "Reset All Settings" option, but without results.

When I'm in roaming I can't see identification of incoming phone numbers which I have already in my phonebook. When I came back from the roaming problem stayed the same. Now I can't see the name of any incoming number which I already have in the phonebook. I tried "Reset All Settings" but without results. I have iPhone 4S and latest IOS version 5.0.1

You can try to powe off your iphone and power on again.

  • What is lost when resetting all settings on iPad

What is lost when resetting all settings on ipad2

This is copied from the iPad User Guide for 4.3 - the book version that can be downloaded from iBooks.
Reset all settings:  Choose General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Enter your passcode if you have one. All your settings are reset. Information (such as your contacts and calendars) and media (such as your songs and videos) aren’t deleted.
Essentially, you reset preferences like the way that you had brightness set, your home screen layout, WiFi settings, sounds, alerts, that type of thing. It will reset those things to the factory settings - just like it was out of the box.

  • When resetting all settings remember to reset mail settings

I had to do a reset all settings reset yesterday to get the music player controls to work in the control center and on the lock screen.  That worked fine. And I went back into settings and turned off all the battery killers but forgot to change email from push to manually fetch and it really killed my battery.  30% in an hour of just sitting on my desk locked.
Once I changed my email back to fetch the battery life if fine again.

    found it on the site.

  • What happen to the Photo library when I choose Reset all Settings on my Ipad?

I just wanna know what will happen to all of my photos if I choose Reset all Settings on the Ipad 2

    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Reset All Settings does not delete anything, all it does is take most of the iPad's settings back to default (with the exception of accounts setting, and maybe a couple other things.) It is perfectly safe.
The only inconvenience is that you have to go back through almost all your settings and set them to your preference.

  • Eversince I updated my iphone 4 to IOS 5.0.1, sometimes I get a 'No Service' or 'Searching'  signal where my network signal should be upon which I have  to 'Reset all Settings' to get the phone normal again. Is  there a solution to this?

Eversince I updated my iphone 4 to IOS 5.0.1, sometimes I get a 'No Service' or 'Searching'  signal where my network signal should be upon which I have switch the phone off then on then 'Reset all Settings' to get the phone normal again. Is  there a solution to this?

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more.  And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should.  On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much.  I will post a note in the app store to let them know.  I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

  • Can not reset all settings

I recently updated to ios 7.0.2. on my 4S and noticed a problem in not being able to enter events on my calendar. This turned out ot be a set up problem as only the "Birthdays Calendar" was selected.
However, in the process of troubleshooting with Apple Tech support, I was not able to use "Reset All Settings" under Settings, General, Reset.
My four digit pass code entered for Passcode Lock when I set up the ios7 update does not allow access to "Reset All Settings" and "Erase All Content and Settings". This passcode does permit me access to the remainder reset options on the Reset page.
Although not a problem now, if my iPhone is stolen, I would not be able to clean out my personal data.
Any thoughts or ideas? Should I do a full Restore after backing up my data and settings? Will this force the need to enter a new pass code?
