why my ipad2 requests password every time to connect to my home router. my iphone recognizes it automatically??.
Try forgetting the wifi network. Touch the little blue arrow next to your wifi network and choose forget.
Reset your router. After you've reset etc, try connecting to it again with your iPhone.

I can't connect to the router in my home. The Ipad seeks the network but nothing happens. I went to school and connected to their WiFi network as usual with no problems. When I returned home I could not connect to my home router. The Ipad seeks the router number but nothing happens. I rebooted the Ipad a few times in the school. The numbers identifying the router, etc. on my Ipad no longer appear there.
TThe Ipad guide says to connect to the WiFi use setup but I can't find the setup program in the Ipad.
I reset the network settings to the factory defaults but this doesn't fix the problem.
What can I do to reconnect to my home router?Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Is there a simple way of linking the same excel folder on my imac and mac air, so as the one on my imac would automacily update when i return home, from the mac air? Fairly new to all this, so any help would be appreciated.
Open a Finder window and you should have a folder called iClouDrive in your home folder. Drag your documents or folders you want to share into this folder and it will be available on your other computer (look in the same folder).
As already mentioned Dropbox is a good solution; however, I like to use my free 5 GB from Apple's iCloud because I am not using very much space there. I reserve my Dropbox for other uses such as family photo and recipe sharing.

Firefox crashes once daily, and I find it when I get home from work. Every day.
As the title says, Firefox crashes exactly once per day. I always find it when I come home from work, which can be anywhere from 8 to 10 PM. It is every single day, not just occasional. More specifically, the Firefox window is missing and all that remains is the generic "Visual C++ Runtime Library" crash box.
My system is a fairly new machine. I just built it earlier this year.
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 black edition (quad core overclocked from 3.2 to 4.1 GHz)
Motherboard: Asus M4A785-M
RAM: 3 GB DDR2
Video: Zotac GeForce 9800 GT
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (dual boot with Debian Lenny, but the crash is just in Windows)
I know the first thing that stands out there is that overclock, but it's unrelated. I suspected it causing an issue at first, so I ran it at stock specs for 3 days. It still crashed Firefox daily. I believe the system itself is quite stable, I never have problems with other software. My FF version is up to date, although it's been doing this for the past 3 or 4 releases. The only add-ons I have installed are DownloadHelper and Flash Player, but it still crashes if I disable them.
This one's got me kind of stumped. Does anybody have any clue what could be triggering this? It doesn't matter what tabs I have open either, in case anybody was wondering. One day, just to test that I closed Firefox before I left in the morning, then opened it back up with only one tab: google.com ....... still crashed by the time I got back home.It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. My new iMac has recently had OSX Lion installed on it and now when I start the machine it looks like its updating something every time, and the wireless doesn't work. So I restart and everything is OK - until I have to start up again the next time - then I have to repeat this again! Any help appreciated.
I've been having the same issue, but have just discovered something on my own that hasn't been pointed out in any of the forums I've visited. In what I thought would be a vain attempt to help myself, I went to System Preferences, Users & Groups, and then clicked on Login Items. I discovered that one of the Items that was listed to open automatically upon login was iTunes Helper and that there was an exclamation point beside it indicating that it was incompatible. I simply deleted that item and now I don't have the situation you described and my wireless is connected. Hope this helps!

I have Mozilla Firefox installed, w/. my Home Page setup to be opened on It every time. I can open a new window on It too, but when I open a new tab, every time open this new tab w/. Untitled Page. I wanna It opening w/. my Home Page.
Firefox is coded to open new tabs in a blank page. That may change in Firefox 4. I don't know.

I have set up a Netgear dual band modem which works well with the iPhone and an older MacBook, but with this brand new MacBook it asks for a password every time I reopen the computer and open safari. As you can imagine this is very annoying. It says I am not connected to the internet and offers me a choice of nearby networks including mine and then asks for a password when I select it. Why does it do this with our new MacBooks (also with my son's brand new one) and not with the iPhone, iPad and older MacBook? They happily automatically connect to our network after entering the password just the once.
Sig, I appreciate you trying to be helpful. I have no idea what issues you were having or what issue exactly pgrounds has been having. Your assumption that everyone's set up is the same as yours is false however. There are many many documented WiFi issues that are a result of Lion installs. Many have been solved by 10.7.1 and 10.7.2. Others have been solved by a large variety of work arounds. Others have not had their issues solved yet.
I am one of those. I have an IT background, and I spent the better of five hours digging up workarounds and attempting all of them. For the benefit oh anyone who is having similar issues, I have posted links to all of those workarounds here. None of them worked in my case, but hopefully they will help pgrounds or others.
So, once again, if you have a new idea, I'd love to here it. But if it has already been posted in one of these links, it's not helpful, let it go.

I've had the same problem, and sorted it using this:
Run the Boot Camp Assistant in OS X as normal and create a partition when asked, then insert your Windows 7 disc to reboot and begin the process proper.
Windows 7 requires the NTFS file system, so once in the installer just select your new partition (labelled BOOTCAMP), click on Drive options (Advanced) and choose to format it. Then select the newly formatted partition and continue.
Windows 7 will begin installing, and once it gets almost to the bottom of its checklist, it’ll try to reboot. Now, if you leave it here, you’ll get so far and see the black screen. Any further attempts to reboot will bring you to the same dead end.
Instead, restart and press a key to boot from the Windows 7 disc when prompted.
Rather than running the installation again, choose the little option at the bottom to Repair your computer. Decline any suggestions that pop up until you see a list of options with Command Prompt at the bottom. Choose that option.
At the Command Prompt, type DEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ATIKMDAG.SYS to delete the default ATI driver, then close the window and reboot.
This time, Windows should successfully initialise a more appropriate display driver, allowing you into the desktop. From here insert your OS X disc to install the relevant hardware drivers as you normally would, then run Windows update to clear up any leftovers.

Hi, i bought a ipad2 3mos. ago and every time i full charge it to 100%, i only get around 4 to 6hrs. out of it! our friends from Apple said 9 to 10hrs. is there any way this could be remedy? hope you guys understand getting short handed by 3 to 4hrs.
It depends on how you are using your iPad. If you are streaming videos or music, or playing interactive games which require internet access a lot, you may not get a full 9 hours from your battery. In addition, have you closed unused apps? To do so, double tap your home button to bring up the Task Bar (most recently used apps). Hold your finger on any of the apps on the Task Bar until they all start to jiggle and you'll see a sign on the upper left corner of each app. Tough the to fully close them.
Finally, location services, push for mail and it's frequency can have a dramatic effect on battery usage. Turning them off, as well as not using your screen at 100% will help reduce battery usage. -
Why does my itunes crash after start up with an "APPCRASH" error every time i open it?! I have been trying to fix this for weeks but all i can do it re-install it every other day which does nothing! I am desperate to get access to my itunes to get music on my phone and all of this just makes me want me to sell my iphone since there is no other way to add music to my phone. If things go get sorted soon you can say goodbye to my support.
