When I run Disk firstaid I get warnings

Are these serious problems? My Mac is running ok. How would I fix them?
A friend picked up a virus on her Mac. Are these virus related issues?

impossible. currently there are no viruses that can affect a Mac. ClamXav may have found a winsloth virus.

i have a slow macbook, i ran live disk utilities (from hard drive), turned out I needed to repair disk from a installation disk. Did that, I got the volume (Hard drive) repaired from the installation disk disk. To this point, great!

So the error I get is "volume header needs minor repair" and then you need to perform repair from the installation disk message.
I did repair not verify from the disk twice. Every time ending in the "the volume had ha been successfully repaired". Then I reboot from the internal disk. Run disk utilities from it, do verify and get the same error message I got before repair. I hope this can shed some light fr you guys. Sorry I didn't include details in the original

Please read Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore.

Please Help?In my experience it usually happens when one of my sub VIs is trying to open
a file and can't find it. (We don't use the NI-488 boards, so for us, the
error is due to a problem opening a file. If you are using GPIB boards, the
problem might be due to a missing GPIB board.)

That you have the current OS version installed.
As far as I know, I have not installed any Remote Access software on my Mac.

When I run my iTunes on my Max 0SX after a while I get a window on my screen: message reads: Your Mac 0SX startup disk has no more space available for application memory (even though I run my Utility and have tons of space available.) I run the verify permissions and see tons of messages that read: permissions differ on 'Applications/iTunes...uld be drwxr-x; they are - rwxr-xr-x.' Utility cannot get rid of these 'permission' messges. This also happens when I'm working in iPhoto. Need help, please.
This is not a Utility permissions problem. Seems it is more a disk space problem. HELP tells me to go Downloads and double-click on Downloads and choose Open Downloads. But this does not work. Downloads will not open. Is it possible Downloads is 'locked?' And if so, how can I unlock Downloads?Trying to be more clear, here. Now, that I know the permissions are normal when running verify permissions in Utility.
Main problem: when I run iPhoto for some time, or iTunes for some time, on my Mac OSX, I get a window that pops up with a message that reads: Your MacOSX startup disk has no more space available for application memory. (It asks me then to 'quit applications you are not using.' After I do that (even though only one app may be open, it tells me to Relaunch Finder).But when I check I see I have tons of gigabyte space on my computer, I've only used a miniscule amount of disk space.
I click on this message, without 'relaunching Finder' and I can't get rid of it.
Why is it telling me I have no more disk space when I have tons of space? Why am I getting this message? -
I am using an external drive for back up. Yesterday the backup failed and I received a message that the external drive( a passport drive) needed a 'disk repair", when I ran disk repair nothing happened it seemed to freeze. Suggestions? should i simply erase the external drive and start over-my computer is fine.
Get a different drive for backup.
In the meantime, once you are backed up some drive safe, then you can attempt to repair the backup drive using the repair the directory link. -

Then I sometimes get the brown screen that states,You must re-start your computer.
I have already zeroed out the hard drive and re-installed Panther and the upgrade Tiger disc.
I repair permissions using the Tiger disc upgrade.

One thing to note... When running Repair Disk Permissions, it is best to run it while started up normally, from your normal startup disk, not from a Mac OS X installation disc. The only time you should run it while started up from an installation disc is if some problem is preventing you from starting up normally. OTOH, Repair Disk can only be used when starting up from a different disk (such as an installation disc).
So, I would start up normally, run Disk Utility, and use Repair Disk Permissions on your normal startup disk.
NOTE: Repair Disk Permissions often gives alerts messages that can be ignored. They are more "informational," not serious errors.

You should still run it periodically. When you run it, what needs to be repaired has been repaired; consider the rest of it an FYI. I've never experience a problem, where a Repair Disk Permissions message actually caused a problem. But, if you ever get an error while running Repair Disk (or Verify Disk), that is usually a serious problem. -
I am finding this when I run repair disk permissions in disk utility:
ACL found but not expected on “Library/Application Support/Apple/ParentalControls/Users”
Why is there an access control list on parental controls on my MacBook? I don't use parental controls and I am the only user of this MacBook. I'm an old guy too, so it's not my Mom putting controls on the MacBook! ;-)

Duplicates. I use iTunes match. Two questions:
When I run exact duplicates on the library on my Mac Air, I get duplicates that say uploaded for one and uploaded with a cloud for the other. Which one do I delete?
Some of the duplicates say matched and matched with a cloud. Same question - which one should I delete?I'm not sure I understand the question.
First I would update your iTunes match. iTunes match will tell you what is duplicates and then you can just delete them from the library.
Second, the course in a situation like this is to delete ONE duplicate and see what happens. Make sure you have that song backed up somewhere just incase it deletes it completely. But usually I'd delete one and then see if it deletes both or just the one you pressed.
Thirdly, update iTunes match. It usually does a good job of locating actual duplicates. -
I can not access Itunes Store from my computer.
When I run the diagnostic tool for network connectivity, my network connects but I get a Red light that says "SECURE LINK TO THE ITUNES STORE FAILED".
Can anyone help me on this problem?ITunes won't connect all I get is the "accessing iTunes store......". With the bar scrolling but no connection.

Just the opposite way you have described. It gets from the corresponding masterdata tables, with the connected SID. -
When first running Firefox 4, I get an error message and no tabs
When loading Firefox 4 for the first time in a session, I get an alert box that reads: "The operation can not be completed because of an internal failure. A secure network communication has not been cleaned up correctly." The browser then loads a set of empty tabs.
When I close and reopen the browser, it starts normally with all tabs running.That is a known bug ([https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=588511 Bug 588511]) and will be fixed in beta 7.

Occurs when running Edit.com for example. Error has choice to Close application or Ignore. If Ignore is chosen, application appears to run normally. Running repair of Windows 2000 does not correct the problem.
