When I send messages using iMessage on my Mac, I only recieve the persons responses on my phone and not what I sent. Is there a way where I would be able to change that?

I finally have my phone number linked to iMessage on my mac and its working fine. The only problem is that whenever I send people a message from my computer, I revieve their responses to both my phone and computer but you can only see what I said on my computer. Is there a way so I could see the full conversation on both my Mac and my iPhone?

Go into iMessage preferences, and then accounts and add your Apple ID email address into both your phone and your Mac. This should then sync them all up.

This occurs when two people share the same apple id for imessage.
settings - message - send & receive - uncheck or remove the apple id.
do the same for start a new conversation.

One day last week, when Facetime rang, my kids answered on the iPad. Dang! Now it's all fouled up! The new iMac won't see my AIM account name and shows that I'm offline, because the iPad is off. We were able to call using "most recent call" in Facetime, but now I can't go and control that new iMac remotely to help with some email concerns the user is having. I'm trying to not personalize this too much, but it's grandkids talking to Grandma and Mom and Dad trying to solve new machine hiccups. Normally, I could just go in via iChat and control the other machine and troubleshoot, but I can't do it with Facetime only. My buddy list doesn't see the other computer even though we are connected on Facetime right now. My name is not highlighted for the other computer. What could have gone so wrong?

When I send attachments this way some people can't save them. They can see them but not save them.

They are received as attachments, i.e. icons. What you see is the real image on your disk, and only if small enough to be displayed. Otherwise, they are small icons inserted in the text.
Additionally, when you place an image in the message, you will find an option in the lower right corner, otherwise absent. Use it, if need be.

If you dont want to recieve eachother messages, then the best solution is for one of you to sign out of the apple id in Settings, itunes and appstore, tap on the apple id, tap sign out, then create a new apple id for that person and resign back in to itunes with the new apple id. This will alleviate your problem.

You're going to need to give a few more details. What is happening when you try to use them? What troubleshooting steps have you already taken? What, if any, error messages are you getting?

I have two itunes accounts on my mac... Can I plug in my phone and get music upload to it from either one? How can I merge them so that my husband and I can share our music?

I recently plugged in his phone and downloaded all the music from his apple id, music he had purchased. I have a different apple id. Can he share it with me? Would I be able to get it on my phone? Also, with home sharing on my apple TV- Can I turn them both on and get the music form both accounts or do I have to use one at a time?

I can type a message but doesn't allow me to send it.

Just make sure in settings, messages, show subject field OFF. You can't send a message with just subject. You might be typing in the subject box and trying to send. Miffed me when I first tried. Hopefully that COULD be it.

When I try to use iMessage on my iPod touch 4 (ios6) the iPod shuts down and restarts

Every time I try to open my iMessage my iPod shuts down. I have a 4th gen iPod with ios6. I will attempt to open the app and it will either shut down and restart as soon as the white screen comes up or I will see my previous messages and try to open a thread then it will restart. I have tried restarting the phone as well as turning iMessage on as off. Has anybody else had this problem? What can I do?

When i set up a slideshow on my mac it only shows the pictures no music or writing that i put on photos.

Please help me , i have set up a slideshow via my imac using music of my choice and writing on every photo. When i home share it to my apple tv all i get is the photos in a order i never set , no music or writing.

That's how it works. If you want music, transitions and comments you'll need to export your slideshow as a movie.

My Canon MP620 just stopped printing text: it can print photos etc but when I send a word document (with a picture) it only prints the picture. Any ideas?

I have a Canon MP620 printer connected directly into my Airport base station. So far it has worked perfectly - I can print any type of document over the network from my MacBook Pro.
Yesterday something weird happened. I have a resumé (as a word document) I was always printing but this time all that was printed was a photo and no text. I did a print preview and it looked fine. I converted to PDF and nothing was printed. I then created a brand new word document and again nothing was printed. I have no problem with images but for some strange reason no text can be printed. All that happens is that the paper goes through and comes out blank.
Any ideas?????

I have had the same account for over 4 years. I have had my ipod touch for 2 years and have always been able to access the itunes store and download content from my pc and my ipod touch. A few months ago, I started to receive the message that I've entered the wrong password but I know that it is correct. I can download all I want from my pc without any problems at all. How do I get my device to accept my itunes password so that I can get back to downloading content directly to my device?

I'm having the same issue. Just hooked up a Mac Mini and running the internet just fine over wifi, but Facetime isn't working. I'm going to try resetting my router in the morning.

Is it possible to use the personal hotspot on my phone while in airplane mode?

I have the Personal Hotspot on my phone and was wondering if while in the air (when my phone is on Airplane Mode) I could use it for wifi for my MacBook Pro.

To simplify Personal Hotspot, the phone needs data coming in (via cellular) to push it out (via wifi) to your MBP. As wjosten said, with Airplane Mode on, all radios are off so no cellular or wifi functions will work.

Yes, they are registered for iMessage and IOS 5.0.1 update. A few days ago (10-12 days) the group messaging was working fine, but now the messages are being delivered to the email inox instead of iMessage app.
