When I send my ical link to my better half , who sadly, still uses a windows based system- He cannot open the link back to my calendar- any help?

I've been using iCloud since it's inception as "mac.com" or whatever it was called. I've been able to Sync Outlook Exchange Calenars to my iMac, iPhone and iPad. However, I cannot get iCal (when viewed in iCloud) to display Exchange or Google Calender items.
It's odd, all other Mac versions of iCal are happy e.g. iMac, MacBook Air, iPad Air, iPhone etc. But nothing when I login to icloud.com and look at the iCal there.

I am using excel to add hyperlinks to other documents. When I email the spreadsheet to another user the hyperlinks are lost "cannot open the file" error comes up. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions on how to retain hyperlinks in a workbook after emailing to another user. The links to external documents were lost. However the links to other sheets within the book were retained.

Probably some form of corruption. If you already tried JetComp (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/295334) try copying objects to a new empty db. Chances are they all copy except for one. Of course you could
go back to a backup as well, perhaps just to retrieve that failing object.

When I power up my system. I get the following error message: Video controoller [VGA Compatible] The system won't them find the driver and I cannot reslove the problem or remove it. Any help to do so would be most welcome

This is not a FireFox problem as it starts before I open any browser. As the system powers up. The hardware is yellowed, but if I delete it. It just reloads it and the same error comes back, next time the system power up as before.
The system is asking for a hardware disk that I do not have to give it. Any help would be most welcome.

You have to enter the Apple ID and password. You are running into the Activation Lock

Please try the following steps to display the cover sheet and replace it with custom one:
How to change a portfolio’s initial view setting to show the cover sheet (and hide the contents):
Open a PDF portfolio and run the following JS in the console:
this.collection.initialView = 'Hidden';
Save the portfolio, close and re-open.
The cover sheet will now be displayed when opening the portfolio.
Updating the cover sheet
Also, most likely if you want the coversheet displayed when opening the portfolio, and do not want the default cover sheet:
Here are the steps to replace the default cover sheet:
Open the Portfolio.
Perform a View > Portfolio > cover sheet to open the cover sheet.
Open the Pages panel for the cover sheet.
Right click on the cover sheet page in the pages panel, select “Replace Pages”.
Replace the cover sheet page with the desired cover from a page in another pdf.
Save the portfolio.

When I long press a link, in addition to opening a context box, it also opens the link in that window. How can I get JUST the context window to appear?

I am an avid Pocket user and I like to scroll through various blog sites while saving articles to read later. Typically, I have been using Google Chrome browser which requires me to open each article in a different tab and then share that article to Pocket in order to save it. I was ecstatic when I found out the firefox browser worked very well and even supported add ons. I decided to try it but have run into a major issue. When I long press a link in order to share it, instead of a context window appearing and the website staying the same, a context window opens while the website loads the link. When I right click on a link in my browser, it doesn't mean I want to go to that link so I'm not sure why the same procedure would cause the mobile browser to do so. Is there a way I can long press a link without opening the link in that tab?

Okay, this is silly, but it's the best I could come up with:
I tested on Gizmodo: when the long press menu appears, instead of lifting your finger straight up, slide it down a bit, just off the link, before lifting your finger off the glass. Then the script in the page does not detect a "mouse up" (or equivalent event) on the link. Does that work for you?
I realize you can't actually see the link through the menu, but one or two lines of text height usually will do it.
Probably would make sense for Firefox to cancel all events associated with touching the link once the menu is displayed. Or to make sure the site understands it as a right-click (that seems harder). I haven't checked to see whether any ideas along these lines have been filed in the bug tracking system.

It sounds like you have chosen a publishing template rather than a word processing template. There are two basic modes in MS Word: word processing and publishing layout. Word processing mode (and all word processing templates) have a continuous text box in the page for writing text. The publishing layout mode (and publishing templates) are documents that have text boxes placed for articles, titles, pictures, etc. Be sure to choose the word document template and you’ll get what you expect. Do not choose the word publishing document.

hi, i did what matt suggested and started my mac in safe mode....the links worked well in safe mode....when i checked them after booting up normally, the links worked for a time, not long, and now they no longer work
what is happening with me, when i click on a link in tb, firefox will open to the proper link, however, if firefox is already open the link will just bring up the firefox browser and not the link....i have to close firefox and then click on the link and firefox will then open to the proper window......
any help would be appreciated

DetectFlashVer not defined this is the error I get when I look at the error consol. i am trying to open a link and that's the error I get. It won't open the link. All I get is a blank screen.

I downloaded a program to help me with a game I am playing. I can't open the link. All I see is a blank page. I looked at the error console and it said detectFlashVer not verified. i am sot sure why it would say this. I have updated and redownloaded flash a bunch of times. I just don't know why i can't open this link.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Indesign CS5 shuts down when I open the links window

Why is this happening? I just installed CS5 a couple months ago, and now every time I try to open the links window, I get the "Indesign has encountered a problem and needs to close" window.
