When I should start charging my MacBook Air?
Just wondering because in the iPhones/iPods it send you a notification, MacBooks don't.

I like charging my Macbook Air when it is down to 20%-10% because it is just like the iPhones, allowing you to use all of your battery life and then charging it up to 100%. Charging when the battery is low allows you to save time by not having to go and plug everything and makes you use almost every part of your battery life so that you don't waste electricity.

My MacBook Pro (early 2011) is moving as slow as a dinosaur... we are hoping if I get a MacBook Air for school and we only use one account on the Pro (instead of leaving both logged on and switching back and forth), we can get by for a few years without the cost of a new Pro. If you run EtreCheck and post the results here, someone might be able to spot something.

When I downloaded iWork on my MacBook Air, it didn't copy the application to my other devices. Is that an error or should I buy them again on each device!?
Just redownlod it from the Mac App Store on any other Macs - you won't have to pay for them again. On your iOS devices you will need to purchase the iOS version which is a different program - again, you will only need to buy it the once for all your iOS devices.

Each time I start up my MacBook Air a text file appears on the desk top (calendarlogging,txt) the file/document contains lines of code. I'm using iCloud to synch my calendar to multiple other devices - iMac, iPad and iPhone. Using Maverick on both my iMac and my MacBook Air. The file was also showing up on the desktop when I was using Lion. Any thoughts?

To anyone who might read this, I ended up re-installing with the original install disc and was able to get back on to Mac, though I lost all of the previous data that I had not backed up. Unsure still if it will continue to let me access the HDD in this, but it kind of confirms that installing Lion probably put too much stress on the computer this last year. -

1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located. -
We have an older IMac (preIcloud) and just purchased a new Macbook Air. Our Iphones are set-up to synch with the IMAC and my calendars on the IMac & the phone look the same. But when I open ICal on the MacBook Air my calendar is missing items? Help.
Are you wanting to import iCal to the MacBook Air. Since iCloud doesn't work with 10.6 OSX you probably don't have any data in iCloud yet?

The last couple of days when I wanted to charge my Macbook Pro 13", my magsafe adapter stopped working when my MBP found the remaining charging time.
When I charge my MBP with another adapter, it works fine.
What can I do? Do I have to go back to the store? It is only four months old.sounds like a funky charger, go to the store and try anoher if it messes up have it replaced. They've been having issuses wuth the new charger

I have a 2 year old Air with 1.8 GHz i5 4 GB that is more than adequate and extremely fast for the uses you describe.
Is battery life a factor in your decision? If so, knowing that may help someone else give you some more input. -

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed. -
Why are some of my iBooks blank when I open them on my macbook Air?
I bought Jim Cramer's book on ibooks today. I can read it on my phone, and it appears in iBooks on my Macbook Air, but when I open it on my Macbook Air, it's blank. I then noticed that some of my opther books are also blank here, though not all of them.
Blue messages are iMessages; green are regular sms.

My built-in Webcam is not recording correctly. When recording directly to youtube (upload), the audio sounds like a robot. It was not doing that when I first got my new MacBook Air last month. What do I do to fix it?
I have tested it over several days with different internet connections...and have done it with another notebook computer on the same connection and it the video uploaded and recorded fine. I can also use the video webcam with Google Hangouts and it records and works fine. So I know the problem is not internet connection...and apparantly not even the webcam or mic.Try using Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
