I have an IPad Air and when I unlock my IPad the wallpaper is there, but when I slide it open the screen turns solid grey. help

Are you sure you have a background assigned to the home screen?
Settings->Wallpapers & Brightness->Choose Wallpaper->Select a Wallpaper and Press Set Home Screen

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

When I apply a wallpaper only to the lock screen the shadow behind the slider disappears.

Well, i noticed this "issue" on my iPhone (4S, iOS 5.1.1) today. And since I found it also on my other iPhone (3GS, iOS 5.1), I think that it is not an issue but intention.

IOS7 lock screen and wallpaper changes

A friend who just upgraded & is beside herself at the changes to the lock screen and wallpaper in iOS7. Can't seem to make the Move and Scale function work and stick on the Wallpaper, and she hates the keypad overlay blurring out her Lock Screen photo (she had the her Lock Screen photo cleverly sized and positioned in iOS6 so that the keypad was an integral part of the picture). Is there a solution to this in the community?

This is an absolutely low character and unethical change Apple made starting with iOS 7.0, I believe. I've read rumor that Apple is in bed with a friend of theirs who've they've allowed to make an App, which crops the photo so it will work on the lock screen and background photo. If this is true, this indicates a terrible low character era starting with Apple. An era of Apple beginning to disable standard features and moving them to App makers to generate programmers and funds for friends of the company who make these Apps. I've been submitting Apple feedback since iOS 7.0 regarding this (probably going on 25 to 40 times now) with no updates and now, today, we are on iOS 8.1.1 with no changes. It would follow that this will not be corrected if Apple has allowed App makers to make fixes for this code change. Sad, isn't it. Apple is rolling in so much money and success that they don't fear any repercussions from doing something like this. You think Steve Jobs would have done something like this to the users? I don't think so. If you read Tim Cook's bio, he came from Compaq and IBM. Stars began aligning in my understanding of Tim Cook when I read this and see programming like this. Either he is involved or he is so separate from programming now that he didn't catch the programming change and hasn't noticed this bug. Either way, it's bad news for Apple's success. An unethical CEO or an ignorant one who is no longer in control of the basics.

Got confused between your header question about a wired mouse and the main question about a wireless mouse. You said your magic mouse was frozen and added you do not have a wireless mouse. Problem is ... the magic mouse is wireless. The original mighty mouse was the corded version.
The wired mouse is a regular problem. After two to three years it tends to clog up. You can clean it (to a degree) as follows.
Using an alcohol moistened, not wet, cotton bud, scratch at the mouse ball for a minute or so. Then turn it upside down and on a clean piece of thick white paper or card on a firm surface, vigorously rub the mouse ball on the paper in a regular figure of eight. Do this for a minute or so and occasionally tap the mouse on the paper. This will help dislodge bits of fluff etc. Then try again

Maybe the are shorted by a faulty display cable? Do you see the same error on an external attached Monitor/TV/Beamer?

When setting photo as lock screen/home screen wallpaper, quality is reduced

When setting a photo as the wallpaper for my lock screen/home screen the photo quality is dramatically reduced. This appears to be an issue since updating to iOS 8, as I have not changed my home screen wallpaper yet since updating, and when setting the same photo as my lock screen now, there is a noticeable difference. This only seems to be a problem when using landscape photo. Anyone else had this problem?

This is apparently a bug in iOS 7. Take a look at the posts to the right under "More Like This". Several users have come up with creative workarounds for this. Hopefully it will be fixed soon in an upcoming release!

You are probably inadvertently swiping to another full-screen app. Are you using a magic trackpad? Does this happen without you touching anything?

Unable to scale a pic to "full size" when choosing a home & lock screen.

Why can't I scale a picture when I'm given the opportunity to "move and scale" a picture when making it my home and lock screens? If I pinch it to include the whole picture, it snaps back to a zoomed in version and over half of it is cropped out. Is this a problem with iOS7? Will it be resolved soon? Thanks.

My keyboard does not appear when i reply from lock screen in ios8?

When I attempt to reply to a text from the lock screen in iOS8, my keyboard does not appear. I have swiftkey installed in addition to the default keyboard. I am using an iphone 6. Any ideas? I am not sure where to begin.

The following Knowledge Base article provides some great steps that help when an application isn't functioning as expected or quits unexpectedly.
With the "Restart" step, make sure you go through and close all applications that are running. If after performing the "Restart" step, you find the issue persists, try the reset portion of the instructions:

On screen lock screen, the keyboard does not work, switching to the switch-user screen the keyboard works again

Mac OS-X 10.7.5, Mac Air.
This began about 5 to 7 days ago.
Steps to reproduce:
Step 1:
Close the lid, or the system 'powers down', or goes to the screen saver mode.
Step 2:
Open the lid, press the power button, or what ever to wake up the Mac Air
The "Enter your password" screen is presented.
They keyboard is not responsive, I cannot type anything.
The touch pad works, I can power on/off the machine.
They keyboard is not functional.
Result: I cannot log in again.
Expected behavior: The keyboard should be working I should be able to unlock the screen.
Workarounds:
Then click on my name, or any other user of the machine and it works fine.
I can now unlock the screen and return to where I was.
Expected behavior:
I should not have to go to the "Switch User Screen" to log back in.

More detail: Some keys on the keyboard do work, ie: caps lock toggles the led, and the function keys across the top seem to work {that is I can adjust brightness, and so forth}
the letter and numbers, and perhap others do not work.

When I swipe my home screen,the apps stay there and the next page is superimposed over the top of them. Like they are stacked on top of each other.

I have ghosting of some apps at the bottom of the screen, and when I swipe my home page the folders are frozen there and the apps from the next page
move across and stack on top of the folder icon on the first page

Initially they were stacked, then I tried to do a reset. Now the folders look like a screenshot of my first homepage, and the bottom bar is a ghost of the original

Is the slide always locked to the top left corner of the pasteboard?

I need to create motion trails that carry beyond the top edge or the left edge of the slide. In PowerPoint, I can shrink my slide view and have empty pasteboard space on all sides of my slide, allowing me to do these off-slide animation trails. I can't figure out how to do this in Keynote, however. Does anyone know how this is done?

Advice from Tulse is correct. Only thing I would add is that Magic Move transitions between slides now allows for moves using numeric positioning via the inspector palette (Metrics Tab). Invisible handles still useful for selecting off-screen objects as there is no "select object above/below" like DTP software has.
Also improved in KN09 is the selecting of build stages. They stay moveable (click-drag-able) even when overlapping another 'position' image of itself. Losing select-ability of a move stage as it disappeared 'under' its original position. At hi zooms, was a bit of an annoyance for me in KN08 as it required several steps to grab it again. So Apple has made improvements to the build issues in Keynote 09, even if they haven't released the top and left pasteboards from jail yet.
