When I startup Firefox it always loads a page on top of the page I don't know how to remove
Whenever I start up Firefox, it loads a page from a survey site. This page keeps loading on top of the pages I open firefox with. I have checked through cookies and about:config trying to find something that might trigger this so I can remove it. Any ideas would be helpful.
Not all locales come with a dictionary installed due to licensing reasons.<br />
If you do not have the en-US locale then check that you have a dictionary installed (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and selected.
You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.<br />
You can open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one.<br />
Make sure that [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu has a tick.

When I startup Firefox, I always get "Welcome to Firefos" tab. I have tried to change mu options, but when I close Firefox, the options revert back to the origional options before I changed them.
Looks that your current profile isn't working properly.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

I don't know the name of it but a toolbar at the top of the window has disappeared after I restarted Firefox. It contained add-ons such as Download Helper and I don't know how to get it back. Please help. Thanks!
EDIT: Sorry I meant the "Save Complete" add-on, not Download Helper.Be sure "Add-on Bar" is checked (click on "Add-on Bar" to check or un-check)

How do I stop applications from coming up when I power up my computer. If this were a Windows system I would be able to take the app out of the start up folder. On the Mac I don't know how.
The app (Excel) is in the dock. When I left click on it there is no check next to open at login.
Lets go back to the beginning when I installed ms office both word and excel were in the dock. then one day excel dissapeared. I put it back in the dock and that is when it started opening during login. There is only one X showing in the dock.
Maybe I have little gremlins. -
Figured it out. There was code in the Preferences/home page field telling it to open my home page and that page at the same time in two tabs. Don't know how it happened, but is fixed now.
Yeah, I don't know why I can't find my posted problem of November 18, but it was similar, and I also figured out how to fix it. IF when you open Firefox to your homepage and MORE opens than IS your homepage, then go to tools, options, and check your homepage info. You will find the URLs to your homepage plus whatever windows are opening that you do NOT want. Delete everything but the homepage and close. I had at least 10 windows opening from a browsing session over a week ago every time I opened Firefox... aggravating!

After I updated firefox to 6.0 today firefox has developed a problem loading multiple tabs. When I try to load 10+ tabs, either at the same time or by opening each tab separately, each tab is stuck trying to connect to the desired page. This continues if I close all the tabs and try to load a single page, the single page is unable to get pass connecting. In order to load a new page when this situation arises I must close down firefox and start again, and the program has no history of the previous session.

I updated to firefox 4.0 and it wont load any of my facebook games.
Facebook games are usually Flash based.<br />
Your More system details list show that you have the Flash plugin, so that should be working.<br />
Make sure that you do not block Flash.

Please tell me how to install and run new Firefox 5.00 after I have downloaded the new version and chosen Save File. I just go into Loop and screen says new version available and download again !

Mozy in installed on my Macbook. I cannot/do not kow how to navigate to the bookmarks for Firefox so I can back them up.

I bought an apple tv some time back and am only now trying to set up the wireless internet connection. I can see my network but when I enter the password with the remote, I don't know how to get the remote to submit the password. Could you please tell me what to do?
You have to use the right arrow on the remote to navigate all the way and highlight the submit button.

Firefox no longer loads home page or deletes cookies. I have repeatedly checked both settings and they are correct. It always goes to the last page I was on when I closed the browser .

The first few sessions Firefox seemed to be running great with improved speed. Yesterday, when I opened Firefox it could not open my homepage even though I checked for my internet connection ... my email service was working perfectly. I rebooted the computer and started Firefox and the homepage opened fine. I then visited an online newspaper site opened from my bookmarks. I was able to read one or two articles on different pages, but then when I selected another page in this site, Firefox was not able to access it (just keep trying to make a connection to the page). I restarted Firefox and went into an online banking site, again through a bookmark. Again after successfully accessing several different pages in the site Firefox was unable to connect to a requested page.
Later in the day I restarted Firefox, entered the banking site and successfully completed my transaction. Visited several other sites and had no problems, then again Firefox could not load a page.
This problem has continued today when looking at the online paper.
I would like either a fix to this problem, or to return to the previous version of Firefox.Google Toolbar Options, in the Search tab, make sure that '''Enable the Google new tab page''' is check-marked. I am having the same problem. My airport says i'm connected with full bars but when i click on safari it takes a few minutes then says i'm not connected to the server. Now the kicker is i have a magicjack and you need internet to run it and that works fine... also i can access my itunes store which also requires internet. I can only run safari with the ethernet cable connected. That is how i'm connected now.. any ideas what it might be.. i have reset safari, emptied the cache, renewed the DHCP lease.. and all of the obvious... Please anyone help..oh p.s. my iphone picks up the wireless so it is working.. HELP......

Can I connect an additional External HDD through USB?
