When I switch on, the Apple and progress icons appear but it does not start. I tried resetting PRAM, Utilities, everything. It says the system is OK. I even reinstalled Tiger, but nothing has changed.
Given that you were able to reinstall the OS, you must be able to boot from the install disc.
Have you run Apple Hardware Test?
Tried running on just one RAM module, then switch it to other slot, then repeat with other module?
Safe Boot?
Checked SMART status?
Run Repair Disk:Boot from install disc (insert disc > restart > immediately hold down ckey and keep holding it until you see “Preparing Installation”) > at firstscreen select the language and click Continue > click on the Utilities Menuin the menu bar > open Disk Utility > select your HD in the panel on theleft side> click Repair Disk at bottom of main window. Run this at leasttwice, and keep running it until it says “appears ok” twice in a row. If thatdoesn’t happen, you may need a stronger utility such as DiskWarrior or if thedirectory is damaged beyond repair, you may need to reinstall the OS, or youmay have a damaged HD (repair utilities can only repair the directorystructure, not the HD itself). When this is finished, quit Disk Utility, quitthe installer, and restart. Once booted normally, go to Applications >Utilities > Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

i just bought an apple tv and it wont stream music from my imac. when i click on the apple tv music icon it accesses the itunes store and brings up only that music i have purchased from apple instead of all the music i have stored in itunes on my imac.
The music icon will only access your purchased music. You need to go to the computer icon. It must be on and running iTunes, and home-sharing enabled in order for it to be accessible to Apple TV

Yes 10.8.2 is the latest version of Mountain Lion. 10.7 was Lion and 10.6 was Snow Leopard.

I tried to purchase music at iTunes with the iTunes card I was given. I was able to redeem the amount and it shows on my apple Id I have $25 but it does not pay my purchase it will still go to my credit card and bill it. It did not give an option.
If you were instructed to call them, then that's what you should do. They will probably need to verify your identity before helping you with the security question.

When iPhone is connected to PC, it shows in itunes but Autoplay does not open for me to copy photos. I tried the Control Panel, changing Autoplay settings but no use. I use a Windows Vista. Please help! All my little ones' pictures are on my iPhone 3GS.
I tried hard reset on my iPhone. I tried restarting laptop and iPhone. I tried a different laptop. I tried removing driver and reinstalling from Device Manager but did not find a driver other than "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" which I heard shouldn't be uninstalled.
Anything I haven't tried?

Are you seeing your music listed in the iPod screen, or in Win explorer as in your earlier post?
I can see all the songs in my Edrive>al's Ipod> Ipod Control> Music folder.
A corrupted iPod database, will report zero music used, and have your music size reported as others, so you wont see the music in the iPod screen. Sorry, I thought there was some hope for you with iPodAccess, in recovery of the corrupted iPod database with your ratings.
You can try to borrow and use the Mac Disk Utility ->First Aid ->Repair.
Of course, if your iPod Hardisk is in a bad state, from the Disk Diagnostic report, then all my suggestion are futile. -
I have iPhone 6, 8.3. I cannot use bluetooth at all from my device, even to connect my macbook pro. I did all the recommended trouble shooting such as reboot and reset network settings. but it does not recognise any bluetooth device. Pls help.Thank you.

I just updated my itune on my PC and now it doesn't start. There was no error in installing/upgrading the software but once I rebut the computer the icon appeared but it wouldn't start the program. Did I loose all my music and data? How can I fix the problem? Thanks
Try this from MacFixIt as well:
In the case of drive directory damage or problems with permissions, the solution is usually to use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the disk. Of course, you won't be able to perform this operation normally (simply launching the Disk Utility application, located in Applications/Utilities, and initiating a disk repair) if your system will not startup. So two options exist:
* Insert your Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) media (DVD or CD) and restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. Once the computer has booted from the installation disc, select "Utilities" from the menubar and open Disk Utility. Repair the disk, then quit Disk Utility and restart your system.
* Alternatively, you can repair the disk while booted in single user mode if you do not have access to a retail Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) DVD/CD. To startup in single user mode, hold down the "Command" and "S" keys simultaneously at startup. Once properly booted, type the command fsck at the prompt. Repeat these process until no errors appear. -

When i sync calendars, the info i typed in my iphone calendar does not sync to my computer? Info from my ical from the computer does sync to my iphone...Am i missing something?
Thanks for the reply but when I do this my default calendar options are 'From My Mac' or 'iCloud'. If I try to select a calendar I can only select one of them. So, if I select Calendar I can only get a check mark beside one feature, calendar, home, or work. I am stumped. I can add events on the Mac and then will sync to the phone but not the other way. That sounds like settings to me but I have toggled everything I can think of.

Why will my iPad 2 not recognize any iPod cables? I have tried two different cables in both the wall and in my laptop, but it will not register that it is receiving power, nor will the laptop recognize that they are connected.
Crizzo is right, the best way to charge is with the included power block. That said, the USB cords are interchangable as far as an of us know. (just not power bricks, iPhone and iPod bricks put out 5W of power, the iPad wants 10W and will always say 'not charging' if plugged into less power than it requires even though it will charge, just very slowly)
If you have tried to charge your iPad - with the iPad charger - with multiple cables and multiple computers and get no joy then it's time to head to the apple store and have them check it out. The 30 pin USB port can go bad - mine did - and it's a manufacturer's defect (unless there's any sort of obvious damage) and should be covered under the warranty; -
Greetings, I am working in Final Cut Pro 7. In the timeline some clips show as offline. I tried going to sequence and reconnecting to media but it does not work. I can still see the video in the timeline and work with it. It just has the red box. Thanks! Olga
If the clips are not actually missing, you could try to refresh the timeline by using cmd-0 and then going to the timeline options tab. Then select name only where it says "thumbnail display". Press ok to accept the change, then repeat the process to add thumbnails back to your timeline.
