When I sync my iPhone reminders with my mac laptop.  Where do they go?

I have a new iPhone 4s (my first iPhone!), and a year-old Macbook Air.  I really like the Reminders app on my phone, and have set it to sync "up to a month ago" with my MacBook Air.  The Reminders feature works great on my phone, but I never get any reminders from my MacBook Air.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that if I make meetings in my iCal on my iPhone, they sync up great with my MacBook Air. I just can't figure out where the reminders Sync up to.  Thanks for any help I can get!

Take a look at this Apple doc -> iTunes: About iOS backups
It shows the locations of backups and how to use them with iTunes.

  • I get an error message when I sync my iPhone 5 with itunes on a Windows 7 laptop. When I go back to my music there are exclamation marks next to many songs. I have reinstalled iTunes

I get an error message when I sync my iPhone 5 with iTunes on my Windows 7 Samsung laptop.  I recently backed up all of my data using Samsung Recovery Solution 5 to an external hard drive so that I could restore my laptop.  I put all of my data back on the restored laptop and reinstalled iTunes. After the error message that says that certain items could not be found and the "sync" is finished I go back to my music in iTunes and there are exclamation marks next to many songs.  I follow some instructions regarding the Edit - Preferences - Advanced settings and the exclamation marks go away until I try to sync my phone again.  Then I get the same error message and the exclamation marks return.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and the same thing happens again.  I am about to schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar but would like to avoid that if possible.  Thank you in advance for any help.

    Hello Courtney,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when syncing your music to your iPhone.  It sounds like iTunes is not able to locate the original file for the song to transfer it to your device.  I recommend reviewing the following articles to locate you music files on your computer:

I've been experiencing the same problems, until my friend told me to manage my songs and albums manually instead of syncing it. to do that, connect your phone to the macbook via usb and go to 'songs', and scroll down. check the box that says 'manually manage songs and albums', and from there all you do is drag-and-drop your playlists into your iphone under the 'device' tabs. as for the random songs, uncheck the box that says 'automatically fill free space with songs'. hope this helps!

  • My laptop recently broke and I had to buy a new one. How do I sync my iphone 4 with the new laptop without losing all data?

    Hi there,
Well the title says it all really.
I have to sync my iphone 4 with my new laptop as the old one broke. How do I do this without losing all my pictures, music, contacts & things purchased form the itunes store?
It seems really silly that everything gets wiped off the phone when using a different laptop. This problem must happen quite often as I am sure I am not the only person who has had a pc that has broken.
I hope you someone can help. All the stuff on my phone is important to me.
    Many thanks

iOS 6 (which runs on the iPhone 5) requires iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8 or higher.
Upgrade OS X on your Mac.

  • I cannot sync my iPhone 5s with my Mac Air.

I cannot sync my iPhone 5s with my Mac Air.
I have been able to do so the past and with the recent upgrades I am unable to do so now.
I went to iTunes as usual to the  iPhone option on the right and the iCal sync option is no longer available. They Apple leave this out accidentally with the new upgrades. I hope they add it back really soon. I rely on this sync. I have appointment that I cannot overlap.

The ability to sync your iPhone using iTunes has been removed in Mavericks. You are expected to use iCloud, which will give you the same syncing functionality and will happen automatically without your having to plug it in.

  • When I sync my iphone 5 with itunes, I entirely lose my playlists.  The tunes are there on the iphone but now rolled in together.  I need step by step help on this one.  Thanks   Gary

When I sync my iphone5 with itunes, I entirely lose my playlists.  The category is there but the contents are empty.  The songs end of rolled into one long list without a name.   Any suggestions on how to correct this.  Thanks

Are you saying the Playlist section on your iPhone Music app is empty or you don not know how to get to the Playlists?
Do you have Playlists selected to sync when you connect your phone to iTunes?

  • How do I sync my iPhone contacts with the Mac address book

I just bought a Macbook Pro and want to sync my iPhone contacts.  How do I do this?

Use the usb cable that comes with your iPhone to connect it to your Mac. Read the directions that came with the iPhone. Post in the iPhone forums where the iPhone gurus are. Google... Look to the right of your post in the "More Like This" column...

  • My itunes freeze when i sync my iphone on my windows 7 laptop. how do i fix it?

my pc freezes every time i sync my iphone 4 and then i have to force shut down

Your iPod can only be synced with one iTunes library at a time.  If you try to sync it with another library, it will erase the current contents of the iPod and replace them with the contents from the new library.
If you have content you need to copy from your iPod back to your iTunes library, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer discussing the different ways to do this.
