When I sync my iPod, iTunes 7.0.2 crashes!

Since I downloaded iTunes 7.0.2, whenever I sync my iPod, I get the beachball with iTunes. All other applications run just fine. If I try to force quit iTunes, the entire computer freezes and I need to do a hard restart by turning off the computer. I reloaded iTunes and the same thing happens. What is going on and how can I fix it? Apple, are you listing? No more purchases on iTunes store because I can't synch with my iPod anymore. It sounds like Apple really didn't do there reseach with this new version of iTunes. I hope they do a better job checking softward glitches when they release the iPhone!

No. Its not possible.
Alternatively, create another user account in your computer. Install iTunes in that account with the library you wish to sync.

So, I looked at my iTunes library and realized that i had a rather small amount of music on it, while i have a rather large amount of music on my iPod. I don't know where all my music went on my computer, and I have no clue how it isn't there. When I updated the software on my ipod 4 touch, many podcasts were erased. When I synced the ipod, they were erased from the ipod also. The current itunes does not allow me to go back to these dates (a few months) and re-download? Can I? and prevent this?

Hey! I had the same problem you did just today when I was trying to get my second iPhone to sync. What you need to do with music or anything extra that you doing you have to creat a second playlist or picture or anything that you would like to use, so that you can add to the second device that you are going to be using. I am not sure if that will help but it helped me out a lot!! Good luck!

The Sync button becomes the Apply button, if you change the iPod's settings in iTunes. If you are only unchecking songs in the iTunes music library, you click on the Sync button.
When you select the iPod in iTunes, you see the iPod's Summary screen on the main part of the iTunes window. There is a checkbox there for Sync only checked songs. Did you check that checkbox? If you want iTunes to ignore the songs you unchecked when syncing your iPod, that setting needs to be enabled. If you change that setting, you'll see the the Sync botton has changed to Apply. Click Apply.
That method of unchecking songs works, but it may become annoying over time, as you need to uncheck more and more songs. If you want advice on some other more convenient ways to make it work, you can post back.

I tend to make my playlists right on my ipod. This did not happen for the last 2 years. Just started recently. Did get a new computer recently.

That is because you got a new computer. You can only sync all media from one syncing computer. You can sync from any computer to iPod using the manual method but that does not sync from iPod to computer.

Are you positive these podcasts are configured to sync to your iPod Touch? Have you double checked the configuration for podcasts from under the iPod's Podcasts configuration tab in iTunes?
To access this tab, plug your iPod in and click on its name from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the iPod's Summary tab. Locate the Podcasts tab along the top and select it. Here you can choose how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.

wait until you reach the limit of five authorized machines. then, once a year, you will be able to deauthorize all machines, following which you can reauthorize those computers you currently use/have access to.

Right click the filename that won't download and selsct 'Get Info'. Look at the file path, does it have a //?// in it? That is a problem with Amazon downloads that prevent iTunes from finding the file. Use 'Add Folder' to add the album to your library and try syncing it again

Playcount does not sync to iTunes when I sync my iPod Touch

I never had this problem before... When I sync my iPod Touch to iTunes, the playcount does not update anymore. I have no idea if there is an incorrect setting, or if this is just a software update issue, but I really enjoy the playcount. Does anyone know of a fix?
