When I tap on a link in an email, it doesn't open
When I tap on a link in an email, it doesn't open. It used to work, I don't know what happened. Did I change a setting somewhere?
No, you didn't change a setting. Try this and see if it fixes the problem.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I have another kind of problem with Firefox

zzxc: When I click on a link in my email it doesn't go to the page. It is a blank page. It will work in internet explorer. When I sign in at certain sites, it doesn't redirect. Why is that?
I am still having the same problem. I did what you said to do, but it didn't help. I cleared all of firefox's cache and still doesn't work.

just windows, itunes, flashI have not found a way for the email hypertext to go to the FaceBook App, but I no longer click on the hypertext as I know whatever information or posting it is directing me to in FaceBook will show up when I open my FaceBook App. I also have noticed that many pop-ups on the Browser don't actually know if you already have the software they are promoting.

I updated Firefox yesterday to 3.6.9. When I receive a URL link in an email within Outlook, I cannot open the link in Firefox. As I said in the question, when I click on the link, a Microsoft Office Outlook error message appears which states that a General failure has occurred in sending the command to the application (which is Firefox). I am using Office 2007 This did not occur prior to the upgrade of Firefox.
See this lnk for a fix, it worked for me!

I just upgraded to Firefox 3.6.13 this morning and now, when I click on a link in an email or webpage, it won't open Firefox. How can I get this option restored in Firefox so I don't have to copy and paste the link?

When I click on a link in an emial, Firefox won't open up
I downloaded the new version of Firefox yesterday. Firefox is my default browser. Now when I click on a link in an email, Firefox will show up at the top of the screen "Firefox-File-Edit-View-etc" but it would open the Firefox page.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

When I click on a link from my emails it opens automatically through firefox. I want to disable this feature as I would like to go back to Chrome. I don't want to uninstall Firefox all together but I don't want it to be my main browser either.
Thank youThe only way to have such links not open Firefox is to set another browser the default browser.
That MozillaZine Knowledge Base article shows how to set another browser like IE as the default browser.
See Setting default browser manually:

When I click on a link received by email to complete registration and activate my membership to a Harley forum, I get "404 NOT FOUND" Not Found
The requested URL /register.php was not found on this server.
Any ideas what might account for my inability to reach this site? This sort of thing doesn't happen often. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, Paul (debreeze)I'm not sure why you believe that I'm running an outdated version of firefox but according to my files I'm running product version 3.6.12. In the support notification I received questioning the file version running on my computer, the link I had a problem with http://www.harleyhowto.com/forum/register.php\ was also included. When I clicked on the link I went directly to the site with no problem. Then I opened the original email containing the same link, clicked and went to 404 NOT FOUND ! I'm going back to the web site and go through the registration process again and keep my fingers crossed hopping it works when they send a new verification email . I will post the outcome, either pos. or neg and may be asking for further help. Thanks, debreeze

ince updating my firefox browser whenever i click on an internet link in an email it does not open on firefox athough my mac switches to the firefox window as i have this set to be my default browser- what should i do?
I have the same problem, and I also wondered if Google toolbar has anything to do with it. There GMAIL was set as the default mail application at first. I have removed that setting, but Firefox 4.0.1 continues to use GMAIL instead of Outlook which is my selection for mailto handling.

How do I read a "winmail" file when it is attached to an e-mail? It doesn't open in Excel on my imac, just code...help!
Winmail is for Windows only. Excel does not open emails.
Ask the sender to send the file in a more up to date format. -
I've done some looking but have not found anything about this problem.
More details --, if I get an email (Thunderbird, latest version) that has a link in it, it will be highlighted but now when you click on it to go to that web page or site nothing happens. I've looked through HELP and tried various option settings and also thought it might have something to do with an add-on but I have not found any way to turn this feature back on -- that is, be able to click on the link in the email and open that web page.
I can copy the link location and paste it in the navigation tool bar and go there, it's just another step.
Any ideas?
Thanks ---I seem to have solved my own problem. When I disabled the add-on "Tab Renamizer" everything started working fine.
