When i text certain people their reply goes to macbook and not my phone
i think i have deactivated iCloud on my phone and my macbook but texts from certain peoples replies are going to my macbook and not my phone so i can't see the reply
i need help getting them back on the phone!

To identify your iMessages as coming from your phone number go to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID and select your phone number rather than your email address. Also, the email can't be removed because this is the email address linked to the Apple ID you are using for iMessage. If you really want to remove it you have to go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the Apple ID at the top and sign out.

Upgraded to IOS 5, now I cant text certain people
Basically what the title says. I upgraded to IOS 5 and now I cant text certain people, it gets the red exclamation mark instantly but i can receive their texts. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and how to fix it?
I updated one of her apps through the app store and now all the others are launching okay. Thanks.

Is it possible to send a text from the iphone 4s to several contacts and not have their replies go to everyone else on the original text? I have group messaging turned off but this seems to do nothing.
Do this instead:
Email everyone instead of texting and use BCC: which will hide all of the people's emails. -
I just got the new Iphone 5 and when I send a message in a group text it keeps sending it as an email and as my phone number. The people in the group text are complaining that it is creating a new group message everytime I text. How do I fix this?

Elitegate. The Whatsapp app is only compatible with iPhones. It will not install on any other device.
However, there are other texting apps like TexpPlus, Viber, Text Free that are compatible with later model iPods. -

My IPhone 3G will not let me text certain people. I have tried deleting the contact and re inputting the information and for a while i could text them directly from the contacts but now it won't let me do that either.
that would lead one to suspect that the battery met the end of it's life and you need to hand in the phone for a batt change at the place you bought it

You use Restore to get the latest firmware build, not the Update button. You can only use the Update button, if there is an iOS update, say iOS 5.1.

I send out emails with proper grammar. People would reply returning my email and I would notice the grammar has changed and doesn't make sense. What's causing this problem?
Have you actually compared what you sent (in your Sent Mail Folder) with what is in the reply?
Note that Auto Correction can often change what you think that you are typing.
Are you sure that the return message has your original message intact and not edited by the recipient?
Bottom line: if the recipient does a simple reply to your message with the original message attached the system is not going to edit your message. -
I just came over from Sprint 4 days ago and had my number ported over. When I send a text to another number, it shows up on the other phone as coming from email address and not my phone number. For example, if the recipient of the text has me in the contacts as "Tom", the text comes to them displaying my email address instead of "Tom".

Welcome to our family. We want you to be able to enjoy all the services we provide and we definitely need to address this. Do you receive/make calls without problems? Are you able to receive messages with your contacts' number? Are you using iMessages? If so, go to Settings>Messages>Send&Receive>only your phone number should be enabled.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Why is the text I send to my husband only going to his iPad & not his phone?
My husband and I both have the 4s....just recently my texts to HIM do not go to his iPhone, but only to his iPad......why? have I accidentally done something I am unaware of? Why is it just to him and no one else? How do I fix this?
Are you sending the texts to his phone number or his Apple ID? It might be that the texts originated from your phone is to his Apple ID and not his phone number and his Apple ID was not registered for the Message app on his phone. So any texts to his Apple ID is not received by his phone.
Can you receive his texts? If yes, then reply back from what he send you and see if he can receive the texts.
