  • I was trying to download latest version of itunes and my computer is saying software requires mac os x 10.6.8 or later. how do i fix this

i was trying to download latest version of itunes and my computer is saying software requires mac os x 10.6.8 or later. how do i fix this?

The latest iTunes which is 10.7 does indeed require Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer. What version of Mac OS X are you running and on what model Mac?

  • HT1222 Tried to download latest version of itunes. came up with error MSVCR80.dll missing. Tried uninstall and re install. won't work

Tried to download latest i tunes version. After install, I can't bring the program up. Keeps telling me MSVCR80.dll missing. Un installed and then re installed but same message.
Got it done.  Uninstalled all apple programs. Did a complete defrag. Downloaded itunes and went to completion.
    Go to HTTP://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 for procedure

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • My Firefox mozilla disappeared when I tried to download latest version

I am trying to download mozilla. The process goes through several steps and says downloaded, but then I get a window to check work offlice under tools.
I keep checking that, but mozilla keeps telling me to uncheck it.
I see that there is not a red checkmark under tools on the icon work offline.

Extensions for Firefox, such as the Google Toolbar, include a list of compatible Firefox versions. Currently, the Google Toolbar only goes up to Firefox 4. However, people have tested and it actually works on Firefox 5, so there are two workarounds:
    (1) Edit a file to revise the range of compatible versions
    (2) Install an add-on that lets you ignore the range of compatible versions
This thread has info on both approaches: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/837142 google toolbar does not work with firefox 5.0. why not! | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help].
    Any luck?

  • Apple TV stopping half way through movie. Got the "spinning wheel" then it said "unexpected error occurred". I can go back

Issue with Apple TV stopping have way through a movie purchased from iTunes. Says "unexpected error occurred" and will allow us to go back and view earlier parts of the movie but not to go forward from this point. Any suggestions?

Having a very similar problem here. Apple TV Rental movie 2/3 way through. Great movie, though we had major download speed probs initially. Trouble is it now keeps on saying "unexpected error, try again later" or somesuch, and has done for several hours.  Rental period finishes tomorrow when we'll all be at work. Night-time here in Australia. Thought we might be able to finish it on my Mac at least. Nup. Can't play AppleTV rentals on your Mac! Family not happy! No, that is understating it. Family ^*&^ing furious. "Why did you waste money on that thing when we could have got it out on DVD, or Netflicks, or Easyflicks, or just pirated it, or.....". I guess you get the picture!

  • Tried to download latest version of iTunes but...

Thought I was updating my 8.something but I now have 9.02 0n my desktop and still have 8.something as operating itunes. It downloaded to an icon on my desktop. I tried to install from there but still have 8.something in there. Restarted countless times. No change. Help? Thanks in advance

Does the icon of what you are seeing on your desktop look rather like a hard drive? If so, that's a disk image and contains the installer for iTunes 9. Double-click on that icon and when the window opens up you should see a couple of files including one that says "iTunes.mpkg". Double-click on that one and follow the instructions. Or you can just use Software Update and if there's an iTunes update it should show it and offer to install.
If you've run that and you're still seeing iTunes 8, you may have duplicate copies. This is particularly possible if you moved iTunes from the Applications folder or changed it's name. Look in Applications and see if you find a copy of iTunes. Get Info on it and see what version is shows. If that's iTunes 9, then it would seem you have another copy of iTunes somewhere. Do a Spotlight search for iTunes and see what turns up.
    Hope this helps.

  • When trying to download the latest version of iTunes, I got 2 errors:  MSVCR80.dll missing and then Error 7 (Windows error 126)  HELP!

When trying to downlead the latest version of iTunes, I got 2 errors:
    1.  MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
Service "Apple Mobile Device" failed to start.  Verify your admin ......
    2.  iTunes was not installed correctly.  Error 7 (Windows error 126)
    Please help!

Do you have Windows XP Pro?
    see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5840089?tstart=0
there is a stupid checkbox you must uncheck, saying "protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity"
You see this screen when you right-click on the ItunesSetup.exe in your Downloads folder.
downloads>ItunesSetup.exe  (right-click)>yourself as admin & UNCHECK THAT BOX!>  conntinue with new installation and even find your old playlists still  intact!!
This is apparently a Windows XP fix alone. MSVCR80.dll is (probably) reinstalled by Itunes under a partnership aggreement with Microsoft.
Using the Microsoft "Fix It" utility at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/en does NOT fix anything. Abandon All Hope Ye Who Run This Utility More Than Once

Tried loading the latest version of itunes but the download would not complete. Now when I connect my phone to a usb i get an error stating required files are missing, reinstall itunes. I tried that but the reinstall keeps timing out?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I keep getting an msvcr80.dll error when trying to download newest version of iTunes.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
