When I try and set up icloud on my MacBookPro, I only see a Mobile Me icon in Preferences. How do I find the icloud icon?

I am trying to set up iCloud on my MacBook Pro. Following the directive to go to Preferences and choose iCloud, I see no icon for that, but do see an icon for MobileMe. How can I set up iCloud? Thanks

You need to be running at least 10.7.2 to do that. Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data before upgrading. Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as Microsoft Office 2004 or earlier.

Check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether.

When you set up icloud and turn on calendar syncing, you get a panel that asks whether to merge the local data on the device or computer with icloud data. You must have responded NO. If the calendars are now gone from your mac, then your only hope is to restore the data from your Time Machine backup.

The only messages I'm aware of are the ones that say that you can't move to iCloud right now because servers are too busy and that you can continue using MobileMe. I'd try to go back to iClound in your Settings and give it another try.

If you still have your old card listed on your account then try selecting the 'none' option and remove it and then try entering the card's details from scratch. If that doesn't work then what is the full error message that you are getting, and the card is registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing) that you have on your iTunes account ?

Try rebuilding the mailbox.
First select the offending mailbox. Then click on Mailbox in the menu bar, and select Rebuild. If the bubble goes away, it was a glitch. If it does not go away there is one unread message in that Mailbox.
To find that one:
In Mail, go to View / Sort by / Unread. That should bring the unread email to the top of the list.

You were trying to create a new Apple ID for icloud. But once the device reaches is max allowed to create IDs then you can't create more. That's your situation now. To create a new account you must use another device or computer.
You can't deactivate or turn back the clock.

The simplest possible solution would be to use the password for your current iCloud account. Should that fail to get your old account removed, the following article can help get you clear of your old account.

It would be useful to you if they had a different name, but the computer knows they are different. Create separate sync playlists for each device and go to the Music tab when it is connected and specify which playlist should be used for the sync.
